My Gym

I rarely give a 5 star, but this place deserves it. We’ve thrown 3 birthday parties at My Gym and all the staff have been great, all the kids are running around screaming with joy and the place is clean. They did a great job of adapting their props and games to the theme of the party. Sad to hear the PCH location closed.

My son went to a birthday party here and had the time of his life! They made it so much fun for the kids. It was nonstop action. This is a fantastic place to have a birthday party.

Loved it, love it and will be coming here in every other day routine to keep the little one entertained! !got a 50 $ only lifetime membership .how awesome is that?! !wonderful playtimes! fun toys and stuff!

Just came from my Best friends daughters 5^th birthday party and the kids had a blast. Robbie and Danielle were fantastic with the kids. I don’t know how but Robbie managed to remember most of the kids’ names. The kids were engaged and all the games/​activities they did were so much fun. The team was efficient, clean and so helpful with everything down to clean up.

Our son has been coming since he was 2 years old, he is 5 now, he loves my gym! Birthday parties there were a piece of cake as they do all the entertaining, set up, clean up.

My 2 year old loves coming here and it brings out a whole new side of her. The equipment keeps changing around so it always feels new and the teachers have really great energy.
Also, this is the only class that my husband actually likes coming to when I can’t make it, so that says a lot.

What koolaid are all the moms drinking coming to this place? Hello, even though price is not an issue for me, there are lots of better, cheaper, and kid friendlier non-​gyms you can go to. I’ve been there 4 times and I don’t care for it. The first thing wrong with this place is that they were playing heavy metal industrial music cranked on 100 at 9am in the morning for 1 – 2 year olds. Just give me a freaking break!!! I just stayed up all night with a baby. Just kill me now. All the instructors are screaming at top of their lungs, to the babies and in my ear over the loud music. Instructors who look about anywhere from 18 – 25 years old with their long life experience and their non-​experience with children and babies «telling me» how to take care of my baby. LOL!
Then I saw it happen. They put a one-​ish baby in a baby car and rolled her/​him down a 45 degree angle big kid’s slide until the car crashes into a foam wall at the bottom of the slide another instructor has propped up. The sheer fright on the look of all the children going down, I felt helpless. Whiplash anyone? I can’t believe the idiot moms who let these fools do this to their kids. Then it happened again next week. They put the baby on a parachute on the floor lying down and quickly fling the baby across the floor until the baby slides off. The third time they put the 1 – 2 year old babies in a plastic bucket and zipline them across the room. Why does a baby need to know how to zip line at 1 – 2 years old? Let me say almost all the babies were either crying or frozen with fear of terror when they were zipped across the room. And not to mention the swings hanging from the ceilings 3 feet off the floor. And isn’t it kinda dangerous for other babies running around a tiny gym to get hit in the head?
I saw what they call «free play» more like aggressive why don’t you trample my baby play. It’s 50 – 70 kids mixed in ages from 1 to 6 years old running around screaming like they just came back jacked up on candy and soda. I would never put my 1 and ½ year old baby in that tiny sardine of germ gym so he can learn how to act crazy.
If you live in a tiny apartment or have no back yard I understand. Maybe it’s better for older children??? But there has to be other alternatives than this place for small babies and toddlers. It’s called a park play ground, beach, or adult-​school mommy and me classes, library, playdates or other mommy/​baby groups. Even if my baby never met another baby ever again, I would never go back to My Gym and have these clueless can’t get into college teeny boppers taking care of my precious baby .
BTW, they have a disclaimer that you have to give your credit card number to join their membership and to be able to go in and participate in the class, even though you paid in full online already. I purposely paid with my paypal but I had no choice to give them my cc number if I was to try the class. I asked them to delete my card number they have on file on their computer, but they gave some excuse it’s their policy for reference. They tore up the hard paper copy but refused to delete the computer info. Just be aware they do this. I wished I never come across this company.

I love this location! Ive been coming here since 2008 and the staff is always super cool!
The activities are great, so important and essential for our growing babies/​kids, Im glad my kids grew up coming here.

My daughter and I LOVE this gym. The staff is so friendly and actually build a connection the parents and kids. We had to take a few months off from going but the day we came back the staff members remembered my daughter’s name and seemed genuinely excited to see us return. It was such a warm welcoming back. The equipment, songs, and activities are great for the kids. My daughters runs through the gym smiling and happy. I couldn’t ask for a better interactive play gym.

My baby and I LOVE this place! Everyone who works there is amazing!!! They are friendly, energetic, professional, caring… They offer so many activities and so much fun. My toddler and I have been coming here for almost a year and every time we have a blast together. I think Earnest runs the place and he does the most awesome job! This place is worth every penny.

My daughter had her 5^th birthday party here last month and it was fabulous! My daughter had an amazing time, and felt like a star. She’s already asking when she can have another party there. Sacha and Lindsay were the party hostesses with the most, and kept all of the kids engaged with games and their great, boundless energy. One friend told me that her daughters said it was the best birthday party EVER. Another friend’s daughter told her that she wants to have her next birthday party there. We received so much positive feedback from our friends. Even my husband, mom, and mother-​in-​law were completely impressed, and they can be hard to please. I highly recommend My Gym Redondo!

I took my son who is 21 months to the free class back in July, it took me a few months to get my act together enough to register him for a weekly class.
The staff is great, all very friendly, fun and energetic, my son especially seems to like Sasha. I like that there are usually the same instructors leading the same classes each week, so the kids get to know the instructors and vice versa. They also have a good amount of class times for each age group to choose from.
They change out the equipment every week and rearrange the room, so they kids are always walking into something new. The monthly rate for the class is about $ 80/​month, which ends up breaking down to about $ 20/​class. It also includes one day a week of free play for the kids. if you break it down it’s basically $ 10/​class and $ 10 for free play. I think the rate is very reasonable. They are also very flexible with make-​up classes, if you miss your regularly scheduled class.
We have been coming consistently since October. It took my son a few weeks to adjust to the class, but he really started participating after about 3 classes. He now sits through circle time at the beginning of class and always seems to enjoy the skill/​song/​dance the kids practice before going into instructional activities. My son will participate in about half of instructional activities the staff leads, ie, practicing forward rolls, zip lining, walking on balance beams, etc. The staff never forces the kids to do anything they don’t want to do and if they are not engaged with a staff member in instructional activity they can run around free to do what they like. The instructional part of the class usually last around 20 minutes. My son really likes the swings that they put up about half way through the class.
After the structured activities the kids have separation time, (about 5 minutes), when the kids play in the middle of the room with the staff and the parents take a step back and watch. I think it’s good for the kids to have a little bit of time during class to play on their own/​not with their parents. I am all for my child learning to be independent.
After separation time one of the instructors does a puppet show/​songs and my son really seems to enjoy that. After puppet shows/​songs they do «bye bye hands» which is the goodbye song.
It’s a great program for anyone with an active little one and I can’t see my son stopping these classes anytime soon.

Despite the freezing cold temps inside first thing in the morning, I really enjoyed bringing my active toddler to this MyGym. The teachers had great personalities and we’re so active with the kids. Even though this is way out of my way and there are 2 or 3 MyGyms closer, I’m going to return to this location because of the staff. The only drawback was the sniffly and coughing kids in class. Hoping next time the staff tells the parents they can’t come to class so everyone else with healthy kids doesn’t catch their colds!

Mommy and me bored me. Music class was repetitive.
My Gym is the place for us! I started coming with my son who was 10 months old and we have a blast together. It’s a safe environment where he can be active and explore. The facility is clean and the staff is friendly and appropriate. I did not understand what My Gym was all about until we tried the free class. We signed up on the spot. It’s not cheap, but if you can get there 2x-​3x per week, it’s more reasonable.

We had my son’s 4^th birthday at My Gym in Redondo Beach. All I can say is that it was a HIT with kids and parents alike. Jason and Lindsay were amazing and were able to group in all of the kids into the activities (the range was from 12 months — 8 years old).
They also really know kids; I was having trouble deciding what food to serve and they suggested Mac and Cheese and chicken nuggets. They were right… it went over well with kids and adults. There were almost no leftovers.
Everything about the day was so special for our son. It was well worth the $$.

This place is great for young kids. Just had my daughters third birthday here, and the kids had a blast. The instructors are super energetic, and did a great job at keeping the kids engaged for the full two hours. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a venue for their child’s party.
I also took my daughter here for their regular classes when she was a baby, and those were always a lot of fun too!

I have 4 boys and for the past 2 years I have done all my kids parties here. We live in San Pedro so it is a bit of a drive for us when we come to this location but always worth it because the staff here is so nice friendly and so full of positive energy love the whole staff esp. Jason he is a incredible man that the kids seriously enjoy being around him my kids always request he be present at their party.

I’ve been taking my son there since he was a few months. We love it there!!!
We went to the one in Manhattan Beach first — then came to the Redondo and perferred this one. Everyone was super friendly — Ernest, Sasha, Jason… we love them!

Well, we have been coming to this location for almost a year now. My son has been coming to free play the entire time. He is finally at an age where their schedule and ours works, so we will be signing him up as well.
I can’t say enough, how wonderful this place is. The instructors are so good with the kids. They are truly exceptional people, that love playing with kids. I’ve been tempted to ask a few of them to babysit for us on occasion.
Jason seems to be the senior and a favorite of all the kids. During free play, they all seem to want to attack him or just get his attention.
Ernest is a favorite as well. My daughter always asks if he will be there when she goes.
Sasha is such a gentle girl, but she has some serious fun. My kids don’t seem to ever tire of her endless energy.
Chantel (sp?) has been around for a few months, but whe is so welcoming and caring that the kids took to her quickly as well.
These are the four we see most frequently. But all the instructors are wonderful. I have no complaints. Can’t wait until March. planning on having my daughters 5^th birthday here.

Another weekend, another kiddie party to attend. If you are a parent, you kow exactly what I am saying…
Gone are the days of a piñata, a home-​made cake and a simple game of pin the tail on the donkey. Nope, that has all been replaced with destination birthdays.
As a parent, there is something very alluring about a destination birthday. First off, you don’t need to straighten up your house, someone else is in charge and there is zero mess to clean up. Sure, your wallet is slightly lighter, but you usually still have your sanity after the party, as well as the rest of your day to spend with family vs. cleaning up.
I have become quite the conniosseur of My Gyms and all their competitors. This location certainly stacks up against the competition. The play area is large and well kept and the lobby is large enough for people to move around, gather and eat. The staff is friendly and engaging and very focused on the kids.
All in all, this gym will run your kids wild. And as a parent, is there a greater gift than that?
