The Little Gym is all about having serious fun.

With more than 300 locations across the globe, The Little Gym is the worlds premier experiential learning and physical development center for kids ages four months through 12 years. Whether it’s our gymnastics, dance, sports or Parent/Child classes, our professionally developed, non-competitive programs have a three-dimensional learning model that helps build motor skills in a fun and nurturing environment, while fostering enhanced emotional, intellectual and social skills.

Each week, progressively structured classes and a positive learning environment create opportunities for your child to try new things and build self-confidence, all with a grin that stretches from ear to ear. At The Little Gym of Torrance, we have a wide variety of classes that will appeal to all. From dance, gymnastics, to sports skills, your child won’t even realize how much they are learning while having a blast.

The Little Gym of Torrance also has capabilities for parties, camps and parent survival nights. Choose from either a Go Diego Go, Dora the Explorer, or SpongeBob Birthday Adventure Bash to celebrate the milestone. Being the only Nickelodeon licensed center to perform these parties, a qualified birthday leader and assistant will take you through an amazing adventure for a fantabulous time!

For a new approach to fun, learning, exercise, development and community– come see how The Little Gym of Torrance makes all the difference.

History

Established in 1976.

In the mid-1970s, the concept sprang from the mind and heart of founder Robin Wes. Robin envisioned a nurturing place where children could grow — physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially. He did not believe physical education should be taught in a competitive environment. Instead, he imagined an environment filled with the spirit to achieve instead of the pressure to win. His non-competitive approach was unheard of back then. Revolutionary.

He opened the first The Little Gym in 1976 in Bellevue, Washington. That was over 30 years ago. Since then, we’ve perfected the teaching methods he set in motion into an expanded curriculum, with each class building on the lessons learned in the previous ones. And while Robin continues to create the original music for each lesson, his inspiring vision has spread all around the world.

Today, hundreds of thousands of children in over 300 gyms in 21 countries learn the skills and confidence needed for a lifetime of success.

Business Owner

Owners, Joyce Freeman and Jamie Mainvielle are not only best friends, they are mother and daughter. Their dream of working together finally came to fruition as they embarked upon opening their first The Little Gym in 2007. Joyce and Jamie are known among friends and family as «kid magnets» — always the first to roll around on the ground with the kids at family gatherings. Joyce retired in 2006 from Mattel Toys, Inc. She and her husband, Lindy, enjoy their six grandchildren in Torrance, CA and Dallas, TX. Jamie spent the last 13 years working for non profit organizations raising funds for various causes. Her education in Behavioral Science and experience in collegiate athletics along with being a mother of 3 young boys gives her great experience in working with children of all abilities.
