Dollar Tree

This Dollar Tree is super close to my house and I sometimes take the kids for a walk there and back. Good exercise for me and and a cheap treat for the kids. This Dollar Tree has a large parking lot in front and it is not very crowded. They have a large display of helium balloons for birthdays or other occasions, but they seem to not be out of stock of the more popular kinds a lot.
They have seasonal items like beach toys and pool floaties and noodles during the summer and currently Halloween decorations and candies and even Thanksgiving decorations. They have a decent selection of party supplies like paper or foam plates and utensils. And a number of cheap plastic toys like little cars or knock-​off barbies and play dough. I let my 3 year old pick 1 – 2 items like a toy doll or a coloring book and pick something out for my son.
I haven’t bought anything from the food section, but they do have a considerable number of processed/​boxed/​canned foods like spaghettios and cookies and crackers. They also have a refrigerated and frozen food section. Again I have never purchased any food items so I cannot comment on their quality, just that I have seen that they are available. However, compared to the 99c store, they have little to no fresh fruit or vegetables. All of the 99c stores I have visited have a large selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, among other items.
There are 3 – 4 checkout lines, but I have never seen more than 1 be open at a time. I have never had to wait too long either however. Overall it is a decent place to get some seasonal items for cheap or a knock-​off item that you might need, but I do prefer the 99c store as I feel they have more items and they have more brands as well. Still, I will visit this store again because it is convenient and my kids like it.

Short and sweet review:
Hot damn! I love this Dollar Tree! It’s got everything I need, when I need it. Always fully stocked, parking lot (for busy Artesia Blvd, that’s a good thing), good customer service, wide aisles, clean and organized!
The added bonus for this cheap shopper, is that it’s alongside four thrift stores on the block and a little International mini market that sells marinated meat, salsas, & large size pita bread! Woo hoo!

The store itself is great! I love shopping there for my kids and party supplies, etc. However, the customer service is always a disappointment. There’s so many locations, it’s worth driving to a different store for a better all around experience.

Best place to get cheap decorations! Their helium balloons hold for weeks. I always find something to fit my theme, whether it’s a holiday or a work celebration.
I find the staff helpful! Even when I buy 10 – 20 balloons they are speedy in filling them up and never give me any trouble if I want 2 – 3 of each different color. I’m deducting one star because they do tend to run out of the popular colours and shapes frequently.

Clean and new. Clerks not that friendly surprisingly for a new store. Store needs to add fruits and vegitable for us to go there regularly. .99 store has these items so we got here.

I am frugal and love a bargain, but am not a dollar store shopper. I went here with a friend and our kids and was shocked at some of the bargains. I now buy cards 2/​$ 1 (instead of $ 4+ at Hallmark) and coloring books here. I don’t think the rest of the goods seem enticing, but I have not tried them. The prices are much cheaper than Target for off brand goods.

If I was allowed to give a negative star I would. This by far has the worst customer service. The manager on duty threaten to write up the associate if she preformed another post void. Really unprofessional staff

I love dollar tree overall because I can able to find many things I need for a dollar. Although I went to this location and tried to use my manufacture coupons since they started accepting them and manager said they only limit 2 like coupons per day per transactions and she even shows me a sign that says «internet coupons limit 2» which is doesn’t make sense since I’m not using internet coupons and she said well any coupons. This is unheard of because I never experienced this to other locations. Not a coupon friendly place. I rather go to other locations.

It’s great to have one in the area. I give it a 5 star rating because it’s organized inside and people working here are nice. I have found a few good things here that I would normally pay more at target or albertsons. Great place for simple party stuff or stocking stuffers during Christmas.

I decided to stop at Dollar Tree a few days ago to pick up some birthday decorations and balloons for my boyfriend’s birthday.
I got lots of stuff, including all the birthday goods I needed. Upon checkout, I informed the cashier that I would be getting balloons as well (they were at the very front of the store and an employee is required to inflate them for you). He nodded and said he would charge me for them and then help me pick out the ones I wanted after the transaction. I said okay, paid the total, and walked over to the balloon section.
I told him which five balloons I wanted and waited for him to take them out of the drawer and inflate them. Much to my excitement… three out of the five balloons I picked were «out of stock.» Okay, so if they’re out of stock, why do you have them on display? Whatever. I picked out three others, and out of those, two were out of stock as well. OKAY REALLY? So I ended up settling on only four balloons, two of which I didn’t really even want, but at that point, I just needed to get the heck out of there.
As the guy starts to inflate the balloons for me, a girl comes out of the «employees only» room right by the balloon display and half scares me to death. He looks at her, and shoves the balloons at her and says, «Oh she can help you» and walks away. I stand there, confused, as the girl inflates the balloons for me, throws them up to the ceiling and tries to walk away. I go, «Um, do you have those plastic weights to tie at the ends?» She stares at me and shoves a box of the plastic weights (all that are randomly BEARS…) and goes back in the room, without a word. YEAH thanks for the great customer service, dude.
So I spend about five minutes trying to tie all the balloons to these stupid weights shaped like bears (which have NOTHING to do with birthday celebrations) and when I finally get everything tied up, I start heading out the door. Then the guy runs up to me and goes, «Are you going to pay for those?» and I go «I thought you already charged me for those, isn’t that what you said when I was at the register?» and he goes «Oh no, I didn’t do that.» And sure enough, when I look at my receipt, he didn’t charge me. So I had to go back and pay for the balloons even though he clearly said earlier that I would be paying for everything all together. Ugh, such a pain.
I left the store frustrated all because of some balloons and crappy customer service. The only thing that I was happy about was that they didn’t charge me for the helium in the balloons like 99 Cent Store does, but I was annoyed that they didn’t have practically any of the balloons I wanted… I don’t know if I’ll be back here or not.

This is my first ever experience in a dollar tree store. They have EVERYTHING! Even $ 1 pregnancy tests (Walgreen sells these for over $ 10). Granted all the items are unknown brands but for things like wrapping paper and gift bags, this place is perfect! I’m angry at myself for paying extortionate prices for something I could’ve got for a lot cheaper here.

I give this store 5 stars because i find everything i need here! And the best part? $ 1 for literally everything! Its also just walking distance from our house. I cant say anything about the staff. But i give them a fair rating. Im all about the stuff i get here. I rarely go to albertsons anymore!

So just a heads up, I cooked up this review in the parking lot. That goes to show you how disappointed I am. I cannot even proceed to my next destination before writing a review on these people.
As I stood there, the only person at the register I could hear someone in the office counting money, letting customers (me) wait. No other employees were in sight. I even walked around a bit to see if I could spot anyone. I waited 3 – 4 minutes before anyone emerged. When she did, she called Michelle to the register, who was overtly rude, didn’t try to conceal it at all. What did I do? I’m just a customer people.

Great Dollar Tree, much smaller than my neighborhood one in Signal Hill but they have very good items. Love the selection and the inventory on hand.
Cashier could be a lil friendlier to the guest, she forgot to ring up two items from the customer prior to me which upset the lady but the lady just said yes I needed that tooo but i have to go as her two year old tugged on her pants.
It was still early in the morning so the cashier should be happy and cheerful with a smile at this time of day.

I love love love all of the dollar tree. This particular location was pleasantly quiet when I when I was here. Maybe because it was 2pm? I could stay in here for hours and enjoy every second of shopping.

Clean, brand new… and AHHHHH the savings!

As I was driving down Artesia Blvd I observed the ‘Grand Opening’ signs for a new Dollar Tree. This location used to be Paul’s Liquor /​Market. If you are looking for Paul’s Market while reading this review put down the phone and look across the parking lot. The old hydroponics building with the green exterior is now the new Paul’s Liquor /​Market.
I pulled into the parking lot and observed it is freshly paved. Like the old Paul’s this Dollar Tree has plenty of parking. If by some crazy chance the parking lot is full you will be able to find parking on Artesia for free. If parking on Artesia is taken you can park in the residential area that surrounds this store.
I decided to pay this spot a visit in hopes of locating decorations for the upcoming 4^th of July holiday on the cheap. I walked in the doors and was amazed at how clean this location was. Not only was this location clean but it was spotless and empty=)
I walked in, was able to locate everything I needed, paid for my items and was out the door within minutes.
This Dollar Tree might be my new ‘go to’ spot. This Dollar Tree had everything I needed and some really cool stuff. When I have more time to walk around this store I plan on doing exactly just that.
This location is hard to miss but if you are still having trouble finding this location it is directly across the street from the Post Office.
If you are in the area make sure you stop by here you will not be disappointed, your Bank account will thank you=)

I have to give this place FIVE STARS since it’s walking distance from my area and provides a lot of alternative conveniences for the neighborhood.
This used to be a liquor store, and I think they actually downsized and relocated across the lot if I’m not mistaken.
In the context of what this place is and provides, which are items priced at ONE DOLLAR… it’s a good place, providing value, quality and service.
Here’s the Top Reasons why this place, The Dollar Tree has earned the ranking:
10) It has a parking lot, plus neighborhood residential areas can provide adequate parking for any overflow
9) It is clean and organized (Let’s hope it stays that way and doesn’t get junkied up and messy)
8) The hours are spectacular, opening at 8:00am on weekdays
7) Cheap Treats and Eats. It’s a good alternative for snack food as opposed to going to the Albertson’s or ⁷⁄₁₁ nearby. They have all sorts of brand name (and off brand) junk food, plus canned and packaged staple items.
6) if you need office supplies, they have a good selection, and everything in here is a Dollar or Less
5) The service seems (current staff on hand) very helpful, friendly and nice.
4) The have GREEN ARMY MEN !!! Yes, the classic toys, in large and traditional sized, as well as alternate colors.
3) It’s a rather large space for the area, so has a nice variety and selection of things to choose from
2) A good source for gag gifts, cheap gifts, and impulse items
1) They sell GREETING CARDS for ALL OCCASIONS, be it Father’s Day, Birthday’s, Thank You, Weddings, etc. — - for «2 for $ 1» so only $ 0.50 per card… it’s a nice alternative for people to take the time to write a hand written greeting card (and there’s a USPS Post Office /​Mail Box across the street) and where you go to a Hallmark store, you’ll pay anywhere from $ 1.50 to $ 3+ for a card, here you can get it for $.50, so including postage it only will cost you $ 1 to make a person’s day better by mail.
They also sell other party favors like helium balloons and cheap décor like banners and party plates etc. — - a good affordable way for office workplace parties to buy supplies.
I still generally like the «$.99 Only Stores» a tad better than «Dollar Tree» which I like «Dollar Tree» better than «Big Lots», but for the location and servicing the neighborhood, it’s a good retail store that’s a lot better addition to add retail shopping variety over the plethora of MMA and smoking head shops that have been popping up along Artesia Blvd.

Whoo hooo! A discount store near my place. It’s their grand opening right now according to their sign. It’s located across the street from the Post Office. It’s clean and plenty of parking on either street or in their small lot. They did open up a cashier right away when they saw lots of people waiting to check out so that’s a plus. Minus a star for a decent selection but compared to the 99 cents store, it doesn’t compare in variety but if you need something in a jiffy & don’t want to over spend, i would hit up this place.
