99 Cents Only Store

Every time I enter one of these 99 cent stores I get depressed and wish that I could get those minutes back. I never find anything of value.
It’s a sad atmosphere – a reflection of the sorry state of affairs that the Congress has allowed this country to fall into over the past 30 years.
It’s mainly imported plastic junk and unhealthy food you should not feed your kids.
Really no bargains here.
You are much better off at Walmart or Target or a discount food store like Trader Joes.

I love the 99c stores. There’s something fun about coming in and not knowing what you are going to find. They always have a variety of brand name items for much cheaper. Depending on the day, I have found organic baby food, organic produce, Disney and other brand name kid’s character’s toys, games, etc…, disposable flatware and serving items and utensils, napkins, etc…, iphone cases, chargers and headsets, just all the stuff that you might make a run to Target, Party City or Michael’s for, you should first stop here instead.
This particular 99c store is very large and has tons of items and a very large produce section. I tend not to buy the food, just because I think there are people who need the discounts more that myself and I prefer all my food to be organic, but I have never seen anything wrong with any of the food items and they have a large selection. They have great seasonal items, like right now they have great decorations for Halloween and over the summer they had all of the beach toys your kids could desire. This store is always clean and well stocked. They could do better with having more people working the cash registers — there tends to be a long line, but that is the only minor complaint I have and I would not reduce a star for it.

You need something. Run to the 99 and they are more than likely to have it on their shelves !

I am constantly amazed at what I find at this store. I have found organic salad, organic tomatoes, organic bell peppers, organic bread, Lean Cuisines, Weight Watchers entrees, Vitalicious breakfast sandwiches, crepes from France, cookies from the UK, canned seafood tapas from Spain/​Chile, rusks from Holland, and jam from Italy, to name a few things. Of course, the inventory is always changing, so it’s hit or miss, but that’s part of the fun. I always look at the brand, where it was made, and the expiration date. Read the labels and information carefully, and you can’t go wrong.
They have great party, and themed items, as well. I found really cute paw print balloons for a pet event. Also, they have some great hair accessories.
Most importantly, this is the only place I can get Soilove, the life-​changing miracle laundry stain remover.

Three stars because I can’t stand the new layout and higher shelves. Before this «improvement» the store seemed much bigger and brighter. They may have more inventory, but the feel of the place seems disorganized and chaotic. If it get real busy, the checkout lines back up into the aisles, blocking the way of shoppers.
Can’t say the service is top notch… think «family dinner» where the family are the workers discussing last nights’ escapades or arguing with customers in front of other customers. How nice, huh? Eh, I know what to expect when I come here, so the «family» doesn’t bother me.
Parking can be crazy… the lot fills often and you might have to circle a few times to find a space.
This location is convenient for me, but I think I’ll drive the 5 extra minutes to the 190^th store.

This is the cleanest and most organized 99 cents store I’ve ever been to. It took me quite a while to find parking but I was definitely impressed when I got inside. They have everything you need. Lots of holiday decorations and fun ideas at an affordable price. Stop by here first before you hit up Michael’s and other crafts store for a pleasant surprise.

This is a better store from the one in my area. More items and a larger store. People may think that all of the 99 cent are the same but there NOT. You have to take the time and shop at other stores from your neighborhood. They may carry larger stocks & inventory then the close to you. So SHOP AROUND people you’ll find these bargain item else where.
There a 4 or 5 brothers burger joint next door i gotta try them out.

This is one of the top 99 cent stores in South Bay. It’s big, it’s clean, well-​stocked, and there’s free parking in a lot that has many creative parking practitioners.
The grocery items alone are worth shopping here for. The fresh produce is consistently excellent — cauliflower, mushrooms, peppers, spinach, bell peppers, and much more. Also canned veg and fruit, many spices, Mexican food basics, and a good selection of weird-​looking candy — if you aren’t here for weird-​looking candy, why bother? That’s just the beginning, though.
If you love shiny, dangly, sparkly stuff to celebrate your life and holidays, this is the place. Festive décor for every season of the year shines, dangles and sparkles in great abundance year round, especially Halloween. The selection is formidable, you will be inspired with original ideas for adding zest to your home for party occasions. Hint: if you love zombies, skeletons, blood, and ghouls, come here in October. You will not be disappointed. Or if you are more traditional in your festivities, there are many good birthday party supplies. The key is variety — inventory changes with the seasons and there’s always something new. If you want to pass through your neighborhood undisturbed by prying eyes, you can put together a great kit for impromptu disguises using the stuff in this store. Stuff like hula skirts, ranchero hats, wigs, face paint, sunglasses, dresses, umbrellas, shirts, ponchos, sandals. You need never show your face again.
There are also many useful household items. Basic hardware, tools, car care, and housewares, dishes, paper products, cleaning supplies, closet organizers, it’s all here. You can often find small fresh plants, and good potting supplies. Picnic stuff like paper plates, napkins, plastic flatware, and tarps. I have to mention there are toys, but don’t say it too loud when kids are around. Taking kids to a store like this requires money and nerves of steel. Because they will quickly and correctly understand that the whole store is a toy store, and will explore accordingly. And want things. Lots of things. You will then have to take them home and live with them.
The only drawback is sometimes the lines are long. At rush hours, the cashiers get slammed pretty bad. I’ve seen mostly courteous and respectful behavior from cashiers though. Customers too are well-​behaved in this store. The whole strip mall here at Manhattan Beach Boulevard and Inglewood has kind of an easy-​going party atmosphere. And there are several excellent eateries just a few steps away.

One of my favorite 99 Cent Only Stores in Los Angeles, they always have a wide range of stuff. I even tried the laundry detergent after seeing the LA Awesome brand they carry on some ecofriendly site; its not bad especially for a dollar.
Also, I recommend the tire shine in the auto section. I’m never buying the $ 5 armor all ever again this stuff works just as good for a fraction of the price. So much good every day stuff. Skip the headphones, they usually crap out after a few weeks of use.

They have some seriously good deals here. The Crystal Light Pure packets at 99 cents are less than a third the price as anywhere else.
They also have cleaning supplies, cheese and a lot of other items that usually cost a lot more. I think I’ve been missing out on the joy that is the 99 Cent Only Store and wasting a lot of money. Even Big Lots has a hard time competing at these prices (though I do like the international section and broader selection at Big Lots).
I highly recommend stopping through if you’re in the area. Might save yourself some money and be surprised at what you can find here.

This location is probably the biggest I’ve ever vistited. They have everything at this location. It’s pretty clean and very well organized. The parking isn’t so great, but I think that’s because it’s in a strip mall.

The .99 Cents Only Store is a great place to go to, not to be confused with the other discounters that start their prices at $ 1 but salt in more expensive items at higher prices.
It’s a good place to get staple items for an affordable price.
Here’s what I recommend getting here:
1) Holiday Decorations — be it Christmas, Easter, Valentines, Halloween, it’s an affordable way to be festive with temporary décor that can either be reused or thrown out.
2) Cleaning supplies — especially good for stuff to clean your bathroom
3) Novelty Gifts — if you have a need for cheap «gag gifts» or office gifts if you have a massive number and limited budget. They have a decent selection of books, DVD’s, and sometimes some really funny oddball goofy fun stuff
4) Air fresheners — affordable stuff in the aerosol spray or those gel ones you twist open and leave around
5) Candy — it’s like living in the 1980’s with candy for under $.50 as well as those snack sized bars of name brand chocolates.
6) Greeting Cards — they have a good selection for all occasions. If you’re into mailing greetings with hand written notes as opposed to using Facebook or eCards, this is great place to buy cards.
7) General household items — gardening supplies and other stuff are pretty reliable and may fall into the «how bad can they be» (for under a dollar!)
8) Oddball Out of Print «Collectibles» — at one time this used to be a haven for folks to buy low and sell high, reselling on eBay auctions. There can be hidden treasure once in a while.
Here’s what I recommend you NOT buy here:
1) Condoms — who wants to buy a used parachute?
2) Off Brand Canned Goods and Packaged Food Items — especially the ones that supposedly contain meat. In this area, if it’s an unknown name, «you get what you pay for»
3) Tools — I’m wary of some of those hammers whose heads look like they can fall off. There’s certain things I’d not try to cut corners and save money on at the potential sacrifice of quality.
4) Electronics — unless it’s a discontinued model from a known brand, be it ear plugs or batteries, again «you get what you pay for»
Generally speaking if you shop places like Target, Walmart, K-​Mart, Big Lots, Dollar Tree and the like, then the .99 Only Store should be on your touring route when shopping.
If you’ve never been to one, you might be pleasantly surprised.

****300^th Review… Yeah*** (wish it was for something more exciting)
After eating a less than mediocre meal at Leo’s across the street we wanted to walk around a bit and we spotted this 99cent store. It was raining so parking was not that easy to find.
Once we got in I was surprised to find that it was pretty clean and had a large variety of stuff. We cruised around all the isles looking at all the goodies for just 99cents. This where you have to be careful because it can add up quickly and a trip here can easily set you back $ 50.00 or so.
Luckily I got out for $ 32.00 but that was mostly in greeting cards. What a great selection of cards!!! The lady checking us out looked like she would rather be doing anything else… as she just shoved as much as she could into a bag and barely acknowledged us as we left. You can’t expect too much here in the way of service.
But overall I was really happy with this particular location and I plan to return in the future… and I’m not usually a fan of these stores at all.

This is actually a pretty big store. There’s even a section with produce.
Anyway, I stopped by here because I needed some gloves for my Halloween costume. I always get them here. And… they always seem to have it. I guess it was meant to be.
The gloves keep my hands warm, and they’re cheap. But, since I usually lose things easily… I always find myself with only one side of the glove. Oops.
The employees here are super friendly and helpful. I asked them where the gloves were and instead of just guessing or telling me they don’t know, they went to ask their manager. And then walked me to the section. AND helped me find them! And they weren’t pissed off about it. They were in a very good mood.

Parking: Free parking in their parking lot. Easy to find parking.

This is the cleanest most organized 99 Cent Store I have been to. And there is a good amount of parking. They seem to have a great selection of items compared to some of the other 99 Cent Stores in the area.
Staff can be a little snippy, but I honestly didn’t expect Whole Foods kind of help either.

The parking lot this store is in has never been so jam packed. Ever since this store opened up, it is very difficult to find a place to park. However, when you do should find a spot, the 99 cents store is brand new, and very clean inside. Not everything is 99 cents — some is cheaper.
If you have a family to feed on a budget, check out what they offer.
If you’re looking for party supplies, they’ve got those, too.
If you’re one of those rare people who didn’t get a calendar for Christmas last year, they still have them available by the box full here.
The kids feel like they’re living large when we take them here. We give them a dollar or two and they run to the toy section debating with one another what the best toy for the money is. Even if the toy only lasts a day, it was cheaper than a candy bar and will last a whole lot longer.

I really hate this corner strip mall… it is full of day workers that gawk at you and it’s ghetto stores but I do love Havana Mania and El Gauchos.
I decided to take a look in the 99cent store and was surprised they actually have food there. Lot’s of food too including vegetables and dairy. Hmmm… not sure I want to buy my groceries from here but if you are looking for some finds there are a few. I found a ton of Belkin ipod covers of many designs for 99cents… not that I needed one but I know that is a great deal.

Well I guess I don’t have to start with saying how much things are here. And I don’t have to explain what a 99 cents store is. So I’ll just tell you my experiences there, what I’ve bought, and how good the location is.
I’m still amazed at all the types of things they have there. I’ve bought gift bags, Halloween decorations, wrapping paper, food, cookies, small hardware items, Arnold Palmer Arizona teas, and of course all my party plates, forks, and spoon needs. This is truly your one stop shop for all things that don’t need to be $ 4 at Target or something.
The parking lot has plenty of space, the employees all seemed nice when I was there, and they look clean and much more organized then some of the other ones I’ve been in. All in all, I can’t complain about one thing, and it’s right down the street.
