Not so great yogurt. The toppings they had were great because there was so many to choose from ! They also have these amazing cookies you could add to your yogurt ! (great chocolate caramel cookie !) but the yogurt didn’t please me and not sure if it was because of my flavor combinations or if the yogurt was just not that great. Service was great and everyone was very kind and funny ! 1 star for all the toppings .+ 1 star for the service + 1 star for the cookies !!

This is one of those froyo places where you serve yourself, and your creation is charged by weight. I like that as soon as we walked in, the lady behind the register immediately offered hs mini cups to taste the flavors. I had never experienced that at this type of froyo place before, and I much appreciated it. It was nice to sample flavors before piling up what I ultimately wanted in my cup. I wish there were a few more flavor options, but I was still happy with what I got. Also, there were plenty of toppings to choose from, including some unique ones that were tasty. All in all, this is nice stop for some quick, refreshing dessert while in downtown Portland.

My absolute favorite for frozen yogurt. There are so many flavors, always rotating, with lots of information and ample samples. So many toppings. So many! Candy, fruit, pastry, chocolates, unexpected savory or spicy treats, whipped cream (a very very important yet surprisingly rare find!!), toppings upon toppings – including sugar-​free toppings, hot stuff and cold stuff, big stuff and little stuff… My one request would be that there be more crushed up cookies or candy bars crumbles. Really nice people work here and the atmosphere is always delightful. I’m sad whenever I’m not nearby and get froyo somewhere else, because it’s never anywhere near as good as TartBerry.

On an unusual hot day in Portland (98!), this is an awesome refuge. This is a few blocks away from the food court by Target and is well worth it. The ice cream/​frozen yogurt is paid by weight and they allow you to try samples before choosing which one you want. Next you get to add extras like fruit, candy, nuts, syrups, etc. Then pay and enjoy either by the tables or the benches outside.
Overall, a great experience and I would go there again.

I instantly loved Tartberry. It has bright crazy colors and décor with quotes and art splattering the walls. The staff is friendly and greets you right off the bat. Typical self serve fro-​yo, but the quality here is top notch. The flavors were fantastic. The amount of toppings is incredible. I was overwhelmed with choices which is a nice problem to have. This is a great place to get your fro-​yo fix!

I love this place. So bright and shiny with so many options! My favorite would be the Dole Whip which I have only ever found at a Disney Park and Hawaii. Quite a few topping to choose from, with something for pretty much everyone.

Stopped in to cool off on a warm day in Portland. This was place gives you a sensory overload. It’s bright, colorful, full of random items including flying pigs, and inspirational quotes cover the walls. We were greeted right away with a smile and sample cups.
They have small, medium and large cups. The medium cup comes with a divider if you want to share but don’t want to blend flavors. They also offer smoothies and baked goods. I got a small cup of their pineapple dole whip, orange cream and vanilla. I added lychee, white chocolate and yogurt chips. It was so good! The pineapple dole whip brought me back to Hawaii. I really liked the watermelon flavor too. They have a wide selection of toppings and fresh fruit. You are charged by the weight.
Wonderful bright and inspirational shop to get frozen yogurt. The staff is friendly and the flavors are great. I will bookmark this place for our next trip!

One must admire TartBerry’s boldness in creating an atmosphere of outlandish kitsch in a world overrun with minimal, Japanese inspired, froyo shops. Not only is the gaudy décor terribly fantastic, but so is the ice cream. Get one step closer to diabetes with TartBerry’s wide array of delectable flavors and expansive toppings bar that puts even the most established frozen yogurt chain to shame.

Great froyo place! Lots of choices and a bazillion toppings. 2 dairy free choices which was appreciates. Fun place to hang out. Employees friendly and lots of things to look at and read :)

Wonderful atmosphere! A happy place to rest our weary feet and minds. The environment was welcoming, the staff kind and engaging. The atmosphere (smells, visuals, music) were of everything nice. What a welcome respite from the hurry of the city. Enjoy taking a moment to taste nice things, consider happy thoughts, and sketch a simple drawing or two.

Quite delicious with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks for going the extra mile to help this out of towner. And I don’t mind one bit that it’s not self serve. Quality, way more important!

Whenever I’m downtown I’ll pop in here even if its cold outside. The store is so cute and colorful. Best of all they have a variety of fruity popping balls for toppings. I love those balls. The staff is super friendly.

Everytime we visit the brother & sister-​in-​law in Portland we have to make our pilgrimage to Tart Berry and for good reason the place is so amazing! I have never seen all of the options available in a frozen yogurt, Ice cream place. From various toppings, whipped toppings, syrups, chocolates, candies and more this place packs on the options and its reasonably priced too.
The yogurt which I am personally addicted to is so creamy and smooth and it doesn’t melt as fast as some of the other chain store yogurts do. I love the variety of flavors available as well and there are new flavors from time to time so we love giving those a shot when we’re in town.
The atmosphere is super fun too with art work, the tables and other décor and you are encouraged to leave a note on the wall to be part of the history of Tart Berry. As you leave don’t forget to ring that bell, the kids love to do this.
This place is as good as it gets and its the reason we’ll keep coming back, which by the way should be in March some time, new family member is on the way, woo hoo!

Our little girl would move into this place if it were permissible. Honestly, she’d make her bedroom the space directly in the middle of the table space.
She loves everything about TartBerry. However, what’s most endearing to her is the football field length of frozen yogurt toppings. It requires careful negotiation on our part to assure she doesn’t get too wired from all of the candy she puts on the top of her frozen yogurt bucket.
In a more serious tone, TartBerry has it all: a generous assortment of yogurt flavors, an enormous number of topping options (think Avagadro’s number) and a very pleasant space to enjoy the frozen confections. In addition, it’s located in close proximity to the Park Blocks — so you can run and play off the extra energy.

Frozen yogurt is given it’s due at TartBerry. The place is in a great part of town, but what is inside is, on it’s own, impressive. They have a vast variety of flavors, sizes, toppings and sauces including multiple beverages that can be created from the yogurt, including bubble tea and milkshakes. Fees are assessed based on weight as is typical for frozen yogurt. Sodas are $ 1.50.
I went here in anticipation. Though ice cream is better than frozen yogurt and gelato is better than ice cream, the real difference is in the attention to detail regardless of what food or drink is being made. I tried their TartBerry flavor and it was good. I put in some Kit Kat, caramel sauce and chocolate sauce. The buffet aspect was fun, with candy, salty snacks, sugary condiments, fruit and more as available toppings, including waffles to the side. It did ring $ 6.66, even though I used the small cup and got not too much. I would estimate at least a hundred different things to put on top.
The sundae was great. The tart flavor mixed well with the toppings. It was delightful and unforgettable. It was expensive and the music was a little loud. This is not a treat for everyday, but once in awhile, it should be perfect.
TartBerry justifies its specialization.

I dare you to walk into this place and not smile. I DARE YOU. The place is full of positive quotes, words, and little post-​it notes written by guests. Write or draw something and stick it up! There’s all kinds of notes– love notes, messages from International visitors, etc. At first, it was a little overwhelming and over the top for me, but it truly is a special, heart-​warming, life-​affirming place.
I’ve had a lot of frozen yogurt in my life and this place is just amazing. Locally owned and made! No preservatives. Their flavors change often but they always have 3 – 4 non dairy options. You check their current flavors on their Facebook page:

I’ve had some great memories here with friends. Come if you’re having a bad day or if you want to make a good day even better!

3.5 — I knew I had done it properly when a group of wasted 40 year olds came up to me and were like «damnnnnnnn, that is impressive». I mean. In the froyo game, I no time for fools — and since my days as a weebae, hitting up Big Chill in LA before I could talk (?root of my childhood obesity ID’d, parents?), froyo has been in my blood.
TartBerry is a fine specimen — though I was expecting a Pinkberry knockoff, it veers so hard the other way my head spun — betwixt and between the quotes from Ghandi and Winston Churchill splashed across the vibrantly hued walls lies mostly gluten-​free froyo in everything from salted caramel, standard tart, to PBJ and tropical cheesecake — and though this all sounds overly saccharine, I was pleasantly surprised that the peanut butter was more salty than sweet and my pumpkin pie was cinnamony and rich, rather than processed and sad. The chocolate lover needed more love — not nearly rich enough for me, but then again, what is?
Toppings range from homemade cookies to requisite frozen/​fresh fruit and mochi — but if you’re really doing it like a 7y/​o, which I was — you head straight for the candy hard and pile all the malted milk balls and choco covered gummies into your cup that it can handle.
Perhaps most importantly, after downing my $ 10 worth of yogurt in like 5min, I wasn’t left with that lingering taste of chemical shame that froyo so often coats my mouth in for hours — so, overall, yes, I like it — and while the pumpkin pie gets mad snaps for being lactose free and delicious, overall, the flavors were just a-​ok, nothing to boast abt. That said, it’s pretty adorably Portland, and when in the hood again and wanting a hit of that something something that only froyo can provide, I will stop in again. But real talk, ice cream will always win. Unless you’re at Truly’s. But, a solid effort, TB.

Fun, funky, and unassuming place filled with cool décor unlike other yogurt places which are carbon copies of each other. My friend and I joked that this was the cracked out American version of a yogurt joint since others are so Asian and filled with different palates of bright colors.
They have the usual stations with a vast variety of flavors, but OMG the number of toppings are endless. There were also a bunch of different sauces all spread out over two countertops on either side of you. I got too crazy with the toppings so in the end my cup held a massive amount when weighed on the scale at checkout. No shame! Place is so fresh and funky, you must check it out!

Love this place. Friendly staff and great choices of frozen yogurt as well as the variety of toppings. Beats all nearby competition hands down.

Such a cute, funky froyo place in Portland! A good place to stop to escape the sweltering heat. They have a huge table full of toppings, and I liked that you have the option of filling the froyo in an ice cream cone. Super affordable, free wifi, and I love the happy/​encouraging quotes and drawings all over the shop.

No matter the season, when you walk into TartBerry, you will feel like you’re in a constant state of spring with the fresh green walls and all the other bright colors featured in a large mural near the front of the store and the other various mementos. I guess I would call it fresh, fun, and funky all at the same time.
When I walked in the door, I was fairly quickly in a state of happy confusion, like my first trip to Vegas. The manager came over to me and said «it’s a lot to take in on your first trip.» I agreed, but he was nice enough not to say that I looked happily confused, but instead gave me directions to on how to get everything I wanted. I knew right away that I wanted triple berry TartBerry because it sounded so summery. I managed to get through all the toppings (and if you can’t find a topping that you like in this embarrassment of riches then I swear there must be something wrong with you). Oh yeah, I ended up with fresh strawberry and blueberry toppings. Yup, it was super summery flavored and meant to be savored.
After paying I think 47 cents an ounce, I sat in the super comfy tables in the middle of the room because it was still so hot outside. I was very entertained by looking at all the items all around and reading a lot of the quotes printed on the table. While I was doing this, one of the other employees cleaning tables said hello to me, and the manager stopped by to see how I was doing and to say good-​night before I left.
My visit to TartBerry was just like finding an oasis in the middle of town on the hot summer evening, but I think coming here any time of year is a real day brightener. Next time you want frozen yogurt and toppings, come on over here for great frozen yogurt and plenty of cheer!

This was the best frozen yogurt place I have EVER been to. I’m telling you this place was DEEELUXE. The toppings were out of this world! They made fresh baked warm cookies, mini snickers, twix, york patties, full peanut butter cups, waffle cones, 20 different sauces and sprinkle type things to put on top of your yogurt. And the snickers and twix bars were not the smashed up chunks normal yogurt places give you as toppings, these babies were full-​mini size. DELISH.
the yogurt was amazing too. I ended up getting the piña colada, which was dole whip (yes, f**king dole whip) and coconut. & and I got an extra side of dole whip. Soooo good.

I have been to a lot of yogurt places and with this being my first time in Portland and the great reviews, we just had to try it.
They have a lot of toppings to choose from, but overall, it wasn’t that tart and actually pretty salty.
The stars are for the super cute ambiance.

Awesome selection of frozen yogurt ranging from the traditional tart to more exotic and tropical flavors such as green tea, coconut, and piña colada. Save some room to add toppings including my favorite, mochi. Don’t like to mix two flavors or want to share with a friend? Add a handy divider found right next to the cups and customize twice in the same cup. Make sure you stop by the cashier for some sample cups to find the right flavors for your palate. Be a good citizen and don’t double dip with the same sampler!

Tons (and I mean TONS) of topping options here. You want to put Samurai peanut mix on your froyo? Go for it! Mix every flavor of those weird liquid-​filled boba balls together? Why not! They have every topping you could ever want, and quite a few that I’ve never seen in other frozen yogurt shops. The staff is consistently cheerful and the place is very clean. My only criticism is that the flavors don’t rotate out that often and some of the weirder ones are rarely there (i.e. caramel corn, french toast), but that’s probably a sign I should eat less froyo more than a legitimate complaint.

I love their frozen yogurt selection and their topping are epic. While this is a great to visit, finding parking might be a challenge.
Great experience to wrap a long work day and a great choice to take the kids for a treat.

Decent froyo flavors but an EPIC variety of toppings. I don’t know if I have just visited dud froyo places in the past, but this bar was a fat kid’s heaven — SO much candy, chocolate, and general topping goodness. Let’s just say that things got crazy…

What a nice little shop! I am in town for work and wanted something a little sweet after dinner and this place was just around the corner from my hotel.
They have lots of flavors (unique ones too!) and lots of toppings… including balsamic vinegar (I knowwww!) and cinnamon chips!
The woman behind the counter was very friendly as well and greeted everyone that came in! Will definitely come back next time I am in town.

I arrived with the place smelling like heavy cleaner and and sweet yogurt. Yogurt is expensive here, but the topping options are plenty – hot apple pie fritter on your yogurt? Sure. Six different flavors of mochi? Why not. The was the toppings are presented seemed a little messy and frenetic, but people love options, and there are plenty here. It’s also the first time I saw a yogurt place with dividers so flavors don’t mix. I opted against it since it would just create more waste.
As for the the flavors, they are hit or miss. The textures were inconsistent from flavor to flavor some watery (original tart), some icy (peanut butter), some perfect, but that’s hard to control, which i understand. Also the peanut butter I got was tasty at first but, I don’t know why after the second bite, it tasted funky. Not sure what happened.

The TartBerry «chain» (there is another one near PSU) is my favorite in Portland, hands down. The flavors are delicious and rotate consistently. Truly though, the toppings are the big deal here.
Many places have four to five fruits, some drizzles of caramel and chocolate, and some random candies. Oh no. This place has several cereals, several chocolate covered candies, sweet and savory sprinkle options (sesame seeds, red hots, nuts, etc.) and five kinds of mochi AND bobas. The workers are friendly but not there to bother you and there is plenty of seating. The layout is a little tight around the toppings area so make sure to go around at least twice to make sure you don’t miss anything.
I am a frozen yogurt addict (my Instagram proves this) and this place has my preferred combo of fruity pebbles, mochi, bobas, and fresh fruit (the fresh is important in FY places) AND super convenient location right next to the Fox Tower and park blocks.
