We are a PartnerShop, which is a Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop that is owned and operated by a community-​based non-​profit organization. Ben & Jerry’s on the Square is owned and operated by New Avenues for Youth as an employment training facility for homeless and at-​risk youth. Every dollar you spend helps at-​risk youth in our community in becoming self-​sufficient, so your purchase helps make our community better, one scoop at a time!

We specialize in corporate and private ice cream catering events (office parties, birthdays, Bar Mitzvahs, weddings). Cakes for all occasions and Portland’ finest milkshake. So if you are in Downtown Portland and looking for an ice cream treat we are your number one destination!

Business Owner

New Avenues for Youth provides a variety of outcome-​based programs and services designed to empower youth to exit street life and lead healthy, independent lives. The New Avenues model ensures that each youth has the opportunity to build life-​skills, establish a stable living environment, and eventually become a self-​sufficient adult.

New Avenues works cooperatively with other members of Portland’s Homeless Youth Continuum to review current systems and programs, and ensure the highest-​quality of services are being maintained and offered with minimal duplication. We are also part of the Oregon Homeless and Runaway Youth Coalition, a statewide alliance of runaway and homeless youth providers, and have been working with the coalition to identify and develop statewide best practices for serving this population.
