Amenity Shoes

This is the best shoe store in NE Portland! They focus on quality, and the styles are MUCH more unique than what you can find at Macy’s or Nordstrom… no cookie cutter brands at all.
I love their well-​made shoes… they’re generally comfortable yet still very attractive for work or play. But, if you’re into stilettos, keep walking!
PS — there’s a nice selection of jewelry and socks, too.

This is by far my favorite women’s shoe store in Portland. I must own 6 – 7 pairs of boots and flats from Amenity. I shop every time I visit from Montana, and never leave disappointed.
My foot is very hard to fit (9.5 narrow) but Zaki always knows what works. And you know you are getting what you pay for — everything is real leather and well made. He will not let you walk out the door if it doesn’t fit!

If you want beautiful and unique shoes go to Amenity Shoes. The staff make shoe shopping so much fun. So much so I can’t go in unless I know I’m ready to buy!

The shoe are beautiful and comfortable. Unique styles and personalized service. The owner and staff are very nice and very welcoming. They have killer clearance sales!

Great selection of quality, interesting shoes in a sweet location. Everyone I have ever met in the store was so helpful, it made shopping for cute shoes that much more fun. Sign up for their email alerts for sales. If you see something you really like, grab it, as they don’t carry a huge inventory.

Sweet!
I was in a bad mood until I drove by and saw a tent sale. I checked it out and got a great pair of Fly London shoes priced from $ 170 down to $ 40! Score!
The boyfriend always checks things out too, but (and I hate to say this) the selling method is not my taste, and he agrees. I often work with a lovely dark haired women, but the owner (euro male) can be a bit pushy at times.
Hint, if a client says they don’t prefer a certain color, don’t try to to tell them its the «hot color». It’s not. That’s why its in the tent sale. This isn’t the only time I have had a similar experience here. Sometimes you just want to walk around and not be eyeballed the whole time.
Otherwise, this place is great.

I’ve bought one pair of shoes at this store before. They were very cute, but stretched out so much that I was only able to wear them about three times before they became impossible. That was a couple of years ago. This store does have some beautiful shoes, that’s why they get 2 stars.
In March, I went in and found a pair I really liked, however they had size 38 and size 40, and I needed a size 39 — probably the most common size ever. The owner graciously offered to order me a pair in my size — PROVIDED that I pay ½ down.
I have never heard of this, especially when the size you want in a current shoe (not on sale) is missing stock in the middle of a size range. (I used to work at an apparel manufacturer and it was usual practice to do «fill-​in orders» when stores ran out of the middle of a size range.)
Anyway, I said nothing and paid the ½ down, being assured my order should be there in 7 – 10 days.
After 2 weeks of being too busy to notice I had not received a call from Amenity, I called to ask about my shoes. The owner admitted that she had totally forgotten to order them. I should mention here that I left a message and had to wait a couple of days for a call back.
I said, OK, we all make mistakes, not like I haven’t done something like that before, and she agreed to order the shoes on the following Monday.
I waited another 4 weeks, and then realized, no shoes, no calls. I called again and requested a response that day, which was a Saturday. The owner was out, but the man who answered the phone assured me he would have the owner call me back as soon as possible. On Tuesday I received a call from the owner. She said my shoes had been placed on back order by the manufacturer. She told me that that the first delay was her fault, but now it was the manufacturer’s fault, and seemed to imply that there was no blame to be found for Amenity Shoes. I told her it might have been nice if they had notified me that my shoes were on back order and how long it might take. In fact. there were about 3 occasions that I could have used those shoes, and only realized I I neeed them as I was getting dressed. She did say yes, they could have kept me updated. But they didn’t, and the fact that they made me pay ½ down (over 80 dollars, not a cheap pair of shoes) made me feel like they need to learn a few things about customer service. Especially when they are a «boutique» sort of store. I asked her to credit my card and forget the whole thing. She offered me a 15 $ pair of socks to come back. Who cares about a 15 $ paid of socks? I have some and they are not that different than a 5 $ pair of socks.
The good news is I found a fabulous shoe store in Salem with lovely comfy shoes that is worth the trip!

Five Stars for this amazing shoe store. I was so excited to find a wide variety of boots and clogs right in the middle of fall. Every thing feels so hand selected, it is hard to choose because they have so many unique pairs of shoes.
Zacky, was so nice about my two little kids who were loving the little play area, and he was quick to find shoes that would fit my calve and shoe size.

Super cute Super friendly

I went into Amenity because I had seen their very cool styles on their website and I was SO pleasantly surprised by the service and knowledge of the owners. I tried on a number of pairs of shoes and they encouraged me to go with the absolutely best fit above anything else. That is such a rarity in this day and age — they were attentive enough to suggest shoes I had overlooked and their understanding of fit now has me the happy owner of a pair of new, super stylish and comfortable summer shoes. Yep, you can have style and comfort. I will definitely go back and recommend Amenity to my friends!

L-​O-​V-​E love this shoe store! Yes, it’s true shoes can be fashionable and comfortable all at the same time. Quality shoes, hot styles (you gotta check out Fidji), reasonable prices, and no, you won’t suffer for fashion. They also have a great array of jewelery (lots of local made beauties) and serious handbags.

I love this store! They have experienced salespeople who are just helpful enough while not being pushy. The selection is consistent in that they have unique styles as well as great quality «standard» shoes.
If I’m looking for something specific I’ll always try here first and if they don’t have it they will help you find it.

Buying shoes here is such a guilty pleasure (read: not Payless prices), but I always rationalize it by reminding myself that
1. the shoes are great quality and will last forever,
2. it’s kinda a mom-​and-​pop corner shoe store,
3. most of the shoes are super-​comfortable and won’t contribute to that outdated, archaic «feminine weakness» (i.e. hobbling around with your feet bound unable to accomplish daily tasks of living), and
4. their shoes are just so damned cute and unique.
They carry Campers, Fly London, Sofft, Minx, Robees et al., and cute purses (including several local designers) & jewelry.
Plus, get on the maling list for sales. Last summer they had an awesome sidewalk sale (including the above brands) for $ 25/​pair.
