History

Established in 1964.

Since 1964, the Baughman family has painted over 5,000 residential homes and tenant improvement projects. Our professional painting business first began with our father, Chuck Baughman. It later passed on to David, his son, and now includes his grandson, Nicholas ~ today our «family» has grown to include trustworthy, dependable and experienced painters.

During my teen years I worked alongside my father while he painted during the summertime. Once I married at the age of 21, my wife Judy and I began a year-​round painting business in California. Now, 32 years later, our son has joined the family business along with a handful of good employees. We still continue to add new techniques to our many years of experience and look forward to another 32+ years!

I met with 5 painters and received all their bids. While Dave’s was not the cheapest, he is clearly a man who is passionate about his work and knew what he was talking about. I ended-​up doing a much broader paint job with my home’s exterior and am thrilled with the results. Thanks Legacy Painting!

It started with a referral from redbeacon. I chose from 3 bidders. David’s bid was competitive and the write up estimate was the most detailed and professional looking. He provided referrals, as well as I got referrals from Unilocal.
David and his team painted the exterior of my home. He communicated what to expect. Any areas that needed some additional attention, he took care of.
In addition, I asked him if he could fix our sticking utility door and gate. And he took care of it!
It’s AMAZING what a fresh coat of paint can do for a home when done correctly!
I’d definitely recommend David and team.

I watched Legacy Painting paint the house next to me. I went over during the job and asked for a quote. After the job was complete I went and «inspected» that house next door.
I was very impressed at the attention to detail and let me tell you I am a VERY picky person.
After checking that house, didn’t even get another estimate.
I simply called and asked when I could get on the schedule.
Dave and Judy were very easy to work with. Judy even helped me with some «design» as the wife was out of town and I needed some help deciding on accent colors.
I can’t say enough about how happy I am with the exterior house painting job.

Mine also had that same level of detail. The crew were very courteous and efficient. The job was completed in 2.5 days.
Dave came back and did a walk around and honestly, as much as I looked, I couldn’t find one spot that needed attention.

Legacy finished painting the exterior of our house in Pleasanton in early August. They were fast, very good, and wonderful at the details that were critical to the great job they did. Dave and his wife were very responsive to our questions and requests, and found a way to do our job quickly despite their very busy schedule. We recommend them unconditionally to anyone who would like a truly professional paint job for their home.

Legacy came to our house and spent time making notes to put together a bid. We were impressed with their knowledge and suggestions. Unfortunately we never received a bid or call back. If they did not want to do the job just say so! If you would prefer to do only homes in San Ramon or Livermore than don’t come out to Castro Valley. Very unprofessional.

Legacy Just completed painting our home in Livermore. From start to finish everything was perfect. Professional, fast, neat, reasonable, great workers. No paint anywhere but on the house. I dont know how you can paint a foundation without getting paint on the dirt but they did it .I cant say enough about how happy we are with the job they did. Thanks Dave and crew.

Dave, the owner, did all the work along with one helper. They did a great job power washing and prepping a stucco house with lots of cracks everywhere. They even dug out about 2 – 3 inches around the base of the house to get down to the bottom of the stucco which runs to the ground. The primed and painted the house the following day. The came back the following day to put a second coat on the trim. The cost was very competitive and lower than the other bids I got. I buy on value, not price, so I was pleasantly surprised to find the contractor I thought provided the best value also had the best price. I feel like I got a great paint job and great value. Dave was very responsive by phone and text. He got my bid out quickly and after accepting the bid he was able to get my project done within the same week. In addition to doing a great painting job, everything was cleaned up when he finished, with no paint on my walk way, driveway or deck area. To top things off, Dave was a super nice guy. Great price, great quality and a great guy!

Dave was fantastic. He painted the exterior of our house. Showed up when he said he would (am I the only one who is amazed when contractors don’t show up when they promise to). Courteous, conscientious and worked hard. He was competitively priced too.
The work he did was great.
Two things absolutely above and beyond 1: He was working across the street and from their roof noticed he missed a spot on our home. We would never have known, nor would anyone else, and yet Dave came over, climbed up a ladder, and fixed the small spot. 2. The siding on our house contracted a small bit, and left streaks of the old color wherever there were joints between two pieces of siding. Dave came over and climbed his ladder and fixed the joints. The issue was absolutely no fault of his, and yet he fixed it on his own dime.

Dave and Bob did an outstanding job painting my house. Dave, the owner of the company, told me he works the jobs to ensure the work is done professionally. I couldn’t believe the cost of the job was so reasonable.
They were on time, worked so efficiently, the work was amazing, and they cleaned up the job site perfectly. Dave did everything he said he would do that was on the contract. I am so happy with their work that I am telling all my friends about this wonderful company.
Dave did not hesitate to supply me three documents, his estimate, his painter’s by laws, and his bonded insured liability license.

Dave painted the trim and doors on the exterior of my home. Dave has a pleasant personality and was easy to work with. He made helpful suggestions that enhanced the overall appearance of my home when he was finished. He was extremely neat and finished the job in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price.
