La Quinta Inn Tampa Bay Pinellas Park Clearwater

Two words run down. Wow! This is hands down the worst hotel and worst la Quinta I have ever stayed in. I didn’t feel safe due to the doors that required room key were broken meaning anyone could enter the hotel and the surrounding areas were not the safest with trailer parks and homeless people walking around with signs begging for help. There is no privacy and being its a pet friendly hotel barking dogs running they the running thru the hotel. The pool was in the middle so if you like people drinking and smoking pot it side you room look no further. Not a good scene the employees were nice but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to make me extend my stay. Shit this debacle down and the icing on the cake was them charging me an extra night that I had to wait weeks for them to refund my card. Nice!

This is decent for the price. The front office staff have been extremely welcoming and pleasant both times My family of 4 stayed there. We needed a hotel central to family in both Largo and St Pete and this was it. More importantly we needed somewhere that would accept dogs, as we take ours everywhere. Not only do they accept them, but there hasn’t been a charge for them.
The only drawback I can think of is that I believe they may have all been smoking rooms at one point or another, because our latest room had a smell of cigarette smoke to it. Don’t know if it’s stuck in the AC unit and carpets or what, but it was there. The beds smelled fresh so that’s what I’m thinking.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive, safe and accommodating place, I recommend it here. It’s not cute, but it’s a decent enough place to crash after a long day out and about.

I was going to give them two stars due to the horrible iron that was in the room when I first checked in but once I made and complaint about it they gave me a brand new one. I was disappointed in the lack of outlets in the room I wanted to charge my phone but was on the wall on the other side of the room. between the two beds there was one outlet but both of them are occupied by a lamp and the alarm clock should have had a for prong outlet instead of only two.
They had name brand toothpaste for complimentary which is good but the complementary razor was a cheap single blade which is not sufficient at all to shave with unless you shaving a 5 year old but a 5 year old doesn’t need to shave.
The décor is rather bland it wasn’t dirty or anything just plain. It didn’t have that funky motel scent however they could have used some smell goods to freshen it up.
The wifi was fast so that is another plus on their part.
Not a bad place but there is no wow factor at all.

We stayed here last night and extended for three more nights today.
I don’t understand the negative reviews. The staff is friendly and attentive. The room is updated and clean. No bugs.
Personally, as a dog owner and smoker I prefer outside entrances. It’s easier to deal with pet care, and I can step outside for a smoke and get a nice room. (Any smoker knows a smoking room is normally horrible and you get all the worst bedding and towels.)
I don’t give 5 stars unless I’m blown away; but I highly recommend this hotel!
Update! I dropped my review by one point because of one person. I complained that the newspaper truck rolls up around five each morning and wakes me up because their radio is so loud. Instead of being polite and telling me they would take care of it, I got a lecture how it isn’t their fault. The lady doesn’t have the personality of a prison guard, and shouldn’t be working the front desk.

Pet friendly! I can’t even believe I stayed the night in this outside access motel place. I came for a soccer tournament & the team was staying here & recommened because it was close. This place needs to shut down & become apartments due to the outside access old school style rooms. It was dirty outside in the hallways, by the elevator & just not my style or what I expected from a Laquinta. I’ve only stayed in one other laquinta & it was beautiful in Gainesville. So I can’t recommend this place ~

This by far has been one of the worst places I have ever stayed. When I walked into my room the smell was so bad. I wasn’t feeling well otherwise I would have switched rooms but I don’t think that would have made a difference. Thankfully I always travel with essential oils and put some on the air conditioner filter and all over the room, big help. I would not recommend this motel unless you were stranded

I am a regular La Quinta customer, but I must say this is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a La Quinta property. The first room I was given was supposed to be a non-​smoking room, but the odor would indicate otherwise. The property was horribly understaffed considering that it was a busy holiday weekend and the line for front desk went out to the door. I was given another room that was an improvement in not smelling of cigarettes, but was infested with roaches as I learned in the middle of the night when I got up to use the bathroom. Other guests were using the pool well past the stated pool hours, being incredibly loud and keeping my companion and I awake. Attempts to call the front desk to complain about the noise resulted in no answer.
Finally, we checked out first thing in the morning and moved to another nearby La Quinta property, where the customer service and quality were much more in keeping with what one would expect from a La Quinta property.

Friendly, courteous staff. Check in was painless. Housekeeping staff was awesome. Rooms were modern and extremely clean. The pool was awesome! Bob Evans next door. Will definitely visit again.

Well, it can be decent if you don’t mind the occasional cockroach. I couldn’t get a non-​smoking hotel room — the room I stayed in smelled of cigars. The staff are very friendly. It’s a great location & easy to get to anywhere in Pinellas.

Room smelt funny. Dirty carpet, bathroom, chairs. The front door wouldn’t lock properly and the hook lock was loose. There was also several sketchy fellas in the surrounding area and parking lot. This place is disgusting and I wouldn’t suggest it to anybody. Whoever is thinking about staying at this place, take your 59 dollars and go down the street and spend it on one of the local crack heads, I’m sure you’d get a better deal.

If u want cheap, stay here! Bathroom dirty, did not want to walk barefoot in the room. Long hair on bathroom door and no fan either. Got a room downtown St Pete at Ponce de Leon hotel on Central and First for $ 100, up from $ 65 at La Quinta, well worth it.
