THIS WAS THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. Blissful Events = cheaper and more useful than a therapist. I would have paid double Samar’s rate for what we got.
I found Samar on TheKnot a year before our wedding. We met her in person at the original wedding venue and she was so prepared – a whole notebook under her arm, writing every detail down that I uttered. We instantly clicked. Unfortunately, other decision makers were at play and to my chagrin, we went with another planner who our family knew. Big mistake. It turned out that this alternate planner was disorganized, did not have much experience doing pop-​up weddings (her day job was events planning for a specific venue that we were not using), had very few connections with competing vendors besides the single choices that she used for her day job, and then went MIA for about a month, during which we «lost» the original venue and also lost out on blocking off hotels to another wedding party. I’d never planned a wedding so I didn’t know what was expected until I compared notes with a friend who had also hired a wedding planner. I’ve never fired anyone in my life until then. But it was the best decision we ever made!
I called Samar and gave her the play-​by-​play in a panic and begged her to help us. She immediately said yes and got the ball rolling. She first found a new wedding venue for us out of the very sparse options in West Marin that fit our needs and with such short turnaround. And then she went to work identifying all the other things that we would need.
One of my biggest pet peeves is unresponsive vendors… We had our share with the previous planner and some of the other wedding vendors who only replied if it had to do with paying them… Samar, however, ALWAYS responded to emails/​calls within 24 hours. When I’m sending random ideas at 3am, this is no small feat on her part, especially since she’s got other clients. Every single insane email I sent, she responded. She was so detail oriented… She had checklists with dates and deadlines tailored to our schedule. She reminded us of important items before they became problems. She boiled down a million choices to the ones that fit our preferences and our price point. And best of all, she was not a Yes-​man (or woman) and pushed back in a constructive way when we were moving in the wrong direction.
Then, on wedding day, she ran the operation behind the scenes and made everything go fluidly. I did not have to worry about a thing.
I really cannot say enough about how much she saved us in energy and frustration. I hated every minute of wedding planning. But talking to her was like going to therapy. She makes you feel like everything is manageable and she takes initiative without making your decisions for you. So grateful for her help. Will definitely be using her again for future events… Or a second wedding. Jk jk.

Samar is absolutely the BEST at what she does! She is attentive, organized, detail-​oriented, professional, has great taste and style, and keeps a calm demeanor and a smiling face no matter what the circumstances. She will make your event flawless and memorable, and make sure you have nothing to worry about.

I hired Samar with a month to go before my October wedding. Last minute I decided to hire a day-​of coordinator so I could actually enjoy my wedding. I contacted about 10 different coordinators and Samar was the only one that I felt was actually listening to me!!! I felt like most of the coordinators I spoke with were pretentious and all about themselves. Not Samar though, she wanted to hear about my vision and how she could help me. She was easy going, but super professional. She was great about keeping me updated and was always there when I needed her. I highly recommend Samar! She will make your wedding happen exactly how you vision. The girl gets things done!

Samar and her team were the reason our vision came to life. We loved every minute of working with Samar and Blissful Events and they made it very easy on us especially taking into account that we were planning from afar! Always fun and now my husband and myself consider Samar a friend as well as our wedding planner!

It was a bit overwhelming knowing where to start when I first got engaged. We found a wonderful venue and kept choosing great vendors… but then a few months before my wedding I started wondering about who was going to set up all my decorations, who was going to coordinate with all the vendors during those last few frantic days, who would make sure we don’t forget to cut the cake or do the first dance.
Samar was the first person that I spoke with in my search. I interviewed half a dozen other people and none of them came close to offering me the same sense of warmth and experience and wasn’t going to nickel and dime me for every question I asked her. As it turned out, Samar was already booked for our wedding date but said that she would still provide the planning and preparation aspect and Beth, her assistant, would be on site the day of. Both Samar and Beth took a huge weight off of my shoulders as they became familiar with my vision, asked questions about our wedding day that I never would have thought of, and provided amazing support in helping make some of my final decisions.
My wedding day turned out perfect and I received many compliments from our guests on how well executed the entire event was. We enjoyed every minute of the wedding and can’t thank Samar and Beth enough!

I cannot say enough good things about Samar. We really could not have pulled together our wedding without her.
My husband and I live in New York City but decided to have a small (40 person) wedding in Santa Rosa this past September. It’s very difficult to plan a wedding on the West Coast while living on the East Coast, especially when you can only fit in one 3-​day visit during the entire planning period! Luckily, Samar made sure that everything came together perfectly.
From our initial meeting with Samar, she really understood the vision for our wedding. As our planning progressed, I never felt nervous about our timeline or our budget. Samar seemed to have it all under control. She works efficiently and calmly which really helped us to feel secure and confident through the whole process.
When my husband and I came to California for our one in-​person planning weekend, Samar set up numerous meetings with a host of amazing vendors while also leaving time in our schedule for us to enjoy California. In that short time frame, we came away from the weekend with a florist, caterer, cake baker, venue, and unlimited excitement for the wedding.
On the day of the wedding, Samar flawlessly coordinated everything and everyone while making sure everything stayed on schedule. When lipstick accidentally fell on my dress, Samar was there with an «emergency» kit to fix it! She literally does it all. My husband and I did not have to worry about a thing. We were able to enjoy ourselves knowing that everything was in Samar’s more-​than-​capable hands.
In addition to being a great wedding planner, Samar is a great person to work so closely with for months. I am happy to have made such a great personal connection with Samar and look forward to being in touch with her for years to come!
I honestly can’t think of one aspect of our wedding that I wish we had done differently. It was like a dream, and we have Samar to thank for making it happen! If you are looking for a wedding planner, I would highly recommend Samar!

My husband and I were married on March 3, 2012 and because of Samar Hattar our wedding was nothing less than perfect. The circumstances of our wedding dictated that it had to be planned quickly. I feel very lucky to have found Samar because even on such short notice we were able to have a very enjoyable and unforgettable event. She was always very responsive to changes and took care of the little details in a timely and efficient manner. Samar is an amazing wedding coordinator! We hired her several months ago as our day-​of planner for our 200 person wedding at our family ranch. She was always extremely organized in getting the timeline and small details set up and even got us thinking about things we hadn’t thought of. We had a couple great meetings before the event to get us prepped and on the day of everything went so smoothly. She was calm and dealt with any issues with ease. Everyone was raving about what a great job she did. I would not have been as relaxed as a I was without knowing that Samar was there to deal with the details on our big day. Highly recommended!

Samar is amazing! She was the day of coordinator for our wedding just a few weeks ago. She did such an incredible job!!! We met with her the first time about 9 months ago. I knew immediately that I had to hire her. From the start she was organized and offered great suggestions. When it came time to hand over all of our vendors and plans to her, I fully trusted her. She made my dream day come to life. I could not be happier with her services. She had 2 assistants on our wedding day and it ran soomthly. If there were any problems, I didn’t hear about them, she took care of it all. I highly suggest hiring Samar for your next event.

Me and my husband were married March 20, 2010 on Treasure Island and without Samar we would have been los in the planning process! We hired Samar to be our coordinator from the beginning to end of our wedding planning, and my advice to any bride is to do this. From the moment we met with Samar my wedding planning became less stressful. She kept me on track with everything from coordinating vendors, to getting my wedding dress fitting, to getting out marriage license! She also kept track of the budget and helped us figure out where we could spend extra money and where we should cut back. I believe we also SAVED a large amount of money with vendors because of the relationship Samar built with them. Samar was always able to be reached, and was able to meet with us in person as well. Our wedding was a 100% success because of Samar and we will always be thankful to her for helping us make our wedding day so perfect!

We cannot say enough about Samar and Blissful Events! I was very anti– day of coordinator and really thought that my fiancé and I and our families could just handle it. Thankfully a number of friends and family members convinced me to find one. I was afraid that there was not room in the budget to find someone good. I spoke with three other day of coordinators and chose Samar because I could tell she really knew what she was doing, was very warm, very reasonably priced, and very professional. Lets just say she was worth every penny! She drove out of her way to meet us at the wedding site for our initial meeting and given that we live in San Diego and the wedding was in Napa, she was flexible to handle the other details by phone and email. She was responsive, kind, and very organized. When the actual Big Day came, she was a godsend. I did not realize how much work goes into organizing a wedding (ours was only 120 people, but there were a ton of details). Samar really took care of business and I am so thankful to have found her. I would HIGHLY recommend her to any soon to be married couple.

ok. I’m not getting married anytime soon but I can still give Samar Hattar a review. I’ve known her for years and years. About 10 years or so. She is true to her word and will listen closely to all your wishes. She’s an organize queen. She is one of those people that will go to the moon and back just to help make your dream come true. She is the most patient girl ever. Samar is truly a great person. I was in her wedding and she did most of the planning. She knew exactly what she wanted and didn’t settle for less. This is the expectation she had for herself, so just imagine what she can do for some one else. I know she will do everything in her power to make sure she is doing exactly what the bride and groom wants. I know that if and when I get married, she will be the first to know.

I’m getting married in August, and at the advice of several family and friends was told that a day-​of coordinator will be the BEST money I’ll spend on the wedding. So despite my tight budget, I decided to search for someone who was willing to work on the wedding for just the rehearsal and the wedding day for what I thought was a «reasonable» cost. I looked everywhere — Unilocal,craigslist, etc and met with 3 different possible coordinators. Samar was the best balance of professional, experienced, and still a reasonable price for the 200+ guests we’re expecting (due to the large size she needs an assistant to help her that day). After meeting with 2 other coordinators (disappointing), my fiancé and I met with her to discuss what she could bring to the table. After just a few minutes I felt very comfortable with her, and felt like our families would get along with her too. Remember, just like your photographer, you really should LIKE your day-​of coordinator since you’re probably going to see her ALL DAY. Samar seemed calm, easy to work with, and had a positive energy about her. Over the past couple of months since hiring her, she’s shown fast and easy communication by phone or email. Samar’s years of experience in event planning gives me confidence that I’ll be able to pass everything over to her the week of, and she will make my wedding day stress-​free. I’ll be sure to update my post after the wedding in August, but I just wanted to put in a little plug for Samar @ Blissful Events for all those in the wedding planning stages like me! Don’t let her lower than average prices fool you — she’s definitely a quality coordinator!

Samar is great! You can tell she truly loves working with brides and making your event great! She works great with all those involved — the bride, her family, the vendors, etc. She is really creative — especially with unique ideas and doing the most with your budget. Definitely give her a call!
