Tony is amazing !! Wonderful service. Very informative !!! Thanks Unilocal for the free tastings via checking in! I ended up signing up as a wine club member because tony was so awesome and so informative of all the wines they had to offer. we ended up leaving with a bottle of port and cannot wait for our first shipment. Cute winery –its been around for a pretty long time. you pass by some a herd of sheeps driving up to the winery. They’ve done a lot of remodeling and building new tasting rooms. Theres a standard tasting room but off to the side theres a room where there are some barrels and concrete wine storage… nice ambiance, but again. loving this vineyard all because of Tony’s attentiveness and wonderful service and also him sharing his knowledge of the vineyard.

Love this vineyard. Their 2006 and 2007 Cabernet, for me, is the gold standard of which I measure all other Cabernets. The way they tamed the 2010 Mourvedre is phenomenal. Smooth and mellow! A great drive to their tasting room as well! Dont miss this place if you are in Paso Robles

Was super excited about the two free wine tastings check in offer. The tasting was hectic and there were tons of people there because a party bus had patrons tasting. It was uncomfortably warm inside the room and I felt like we were kind of a weirdly placed forgotten table. They did have excellent deals on a few wines for case pricing that was about 66% off of regular so we bought three cases.
I’d definitely go back but maybe earlier or later in the day, not at 12:30.

This review is due to bad service on new years eve. I called ahead and confirmed they were open until 3 pm. My party of four arrived around 2:40 pm. Plenty of time for a tasting. Usually, wineries will take tasters up until nearly closing. They said they were no longer taking people. The alleged reason: inventory count.
The signs were still out however. And most importantly, I had called days ahead to confirm. Many wineries do close early on new years eve. So this was annoying because we planned our visit based on the timing they provided.
Mind you, I’ve been to this winery before this past February. I love those l their nebbiolo and port and blend. It’s usually a pleasant but dark tasting room with knowledgeable and thoughtful staff. But on a holiday weekend when people are trying to plan their vacation, closing earlier than they themselves stated a couple days prior to our visit is unacceptable.
If I visit again, I hope I’m not disappointed. But for you Unilocalers planning a visit, don’t come around the holidays and don’t believe the alleged hours.

Had a nice visit here yesterday. We received a ton of information regarding the wines and vineyards. The free tastings with check in was a nice benefit. Some solid wines.

I stopped in at Adelaida for the second time this year on December 20^th, and was even more delighted with the quality of the wines and the service than the first time around. Chuck gave us generous pours of all the wines on the list, then poured a few other delicious reds when we asked if any other bottles were open. Throughout the pouring, he regaled us with information about each varietal, about the history of the vineyard and the new facilities they are in the midst of building. I came away with a bottle of scrumptious Touriga 2010, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

I am so glad that our tastings were free, because I would have been really sad to pay even $ 10 dollars per tasting. First when we got there, it was kind of crowded, so we were told to just squeeze in anywhere we could at the bar. Then, when we got to the bar, it took awhile for someone to notice us to serve us which is fine since they were busy, but what I didn’t like was that we were passed around. First, a gentleman notices us and asks us if we had been helped, we said no. Then, another woman notices us and asks if we were served and when we said no. She asks the gentleman if he could serve us, but he said he had something else to do, so she offered to serve us. But instead of serving us, she asks another woman if she would serve us instead. I guess this is fine since they were busy, but it just kind of bothered me since we were just getting passed around and had waited for awhile.
Once, we had someone serve us, the wine they were serving up was not to our liking. If I remember correctly, we tried about 7 – 8 wines. 2 which were not on the menu. However, after about 3 tastings, I was dreading that we still had more to try. We really didn’t like any of their offerings which is unfortunate. Given the weird service we received, and the wines that were not to our liking, we definitely won’t be back.

We had an awesome visit to the winery. They have fantastic wines and the scenery was beautiful. I highly recommend a visit!

Our one and only stop in Paso Robles on our way to Pismo. Thanks to all the Unilocalers for recommending this great vineyard! The Adelaida tasting room is a small, clean space that has accessible parking. Upon entry, we were immediately welcomed by Mike. He provided great background for each wine tasting, as well as interesting conversation and a broad knowledge and experience related to California vineyards. We brought up Elyse Winery from Napa in conversation and were amazed when Mike began to identify and explain their different labels and related owner family history.
The wines did not disappoint. There was a wide variety of whites, reds, and dessert wines. Most of Adelaida’s wines were blends that were reasonably priced and had bright, bold flavors. There were also a few very affordable wines that seemed a little more dressed down than the main offerings. We loved the Recess Table Red, especially at only $ 15 a bottle.
Overall, we were very pleased with our visit to Adelaida and parrot the high praise that other Unilocalers have bestowed.

Great wines and fun people to pour our wine. Late Harvest dessert wine was my favorite. They take care of you and make your wine tasting experience great!

P. S. the Mourvedre Anna’s Vineyard Reserve 2013 is phenomenal

The staff here is amazingly personable, knowledgeable, and are all great ambassadors for the winery; they know how to make people feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued! Excellent customer service! Their $ 10 tasting fee is waived with a $ 50 purchase.
Tasty variety of wines (we joined their club!) and amazing staff! We’re eager to experience the new tasting room when it’s ready!

Make sure you see Tammy, she’s your go-​to gal! She is very well versed in her wines. Favorite wine was the Pinot Nior Estate 2013!

They are doing a lot of construction to expand their tasting area but it didn’t affect our experience at all. I’ve heard it can get quite busy in their current tasting room, but we were visiting mid-​week and so it wasn’t too crowded. Still probably the busiest winery that we stopped at.
Loved hearing about the history of their wines as they are one of the older wineries in the area. They also told us about their «mascot» Lloyd the Llama, who we saw rolling around in the dirt on our way in.
We bought a bottle of their Version Red which is a great table wine. I also loved their iced dessert wine. Reminded me of sweet Scuppernong wine that is made in North Carolina where I grew up. Bought a bottle of that, too. The staff recommended mixing a splash of the Dessert wine in a glass of Champagne… Oh, do they know me or what? Sold!

Great wines and great views! Our pourer, Mike, was very friendly and knowledgeable. Loved their Zinfandel. We had a picnic lunch on their patio and had a great time enjoying their Chardonnay along with our food. Go here!

We drove a long way to Paso, and would do it again just to visit Adelaida. Once you get to Paso, it takes another 15 minutes to get to the winery across winding roads over a beautiful countryside. Again, no problem. Adds to the charm. Trust me: listen to Denny B., he knows his Paso wineries! Wendy B. also took his advice. Smart girl.
We are not wine aficionados, we can’t remember most of the stuff the staff told us about the wine, we don’t like spending more for wine than we spend for dinner, and we don’t need to tour a lot of wineries… we just want to try something good, have fun, and bring back stories. We certainly did all of that, and a case of Adelaida’s cheapest wine, which is better than any other wine we tried elsewhere in Paso.
When we arrived, the wine trolley full of wine tourists was there, so the tasting room was full of people having fun and talking wine. A few nice people scooted over to make room for us at the counter. Sweet! The young man behind the counter could probably tell we were wine newbies… the blank stare will do that. He made sure we felt welcome, and his explanations were perfect for us. We especially enjoyed learning how this winery spent years to cultivate the ground, and how the land and weather affect the «crops.»
The next evening, after visiting the Hearst Castle, we drank our Adelaida wine sitting on the ocean front balcony of our hotel. Perfect place, perfect wine, perfect evening.

My favorite winery on a recent trip to Paso Robles. We signed up for a private tasting on the hilltop terrace (highly recommend to call and make a reservation for this prior to your visit to Paso). This is a beautiful location with a spectacular view (see photos). Our guide was Glenn, who was extremely knowledgeable about wines, Paso Robles wine history and this particular Vineyard. He also has an English accent which didn’t hurt!
…and not to forget about their wines… fantastic! Bought some to bring home to enjoy!

Awesome Pinot Noirs and GSMs. Understated but great winery. Good staff and generous pours.

Stats show that 2 hours in the gym each day will add 2 years to your life. Stats also show that 2 glasses of wine will add 3 years to your life. So why bother with sweat and gym fees?
My Unilocal friend, Denny B, has been watching out for me. He has given me a ton of tips for our trips to Paso Robles. I can count on most of them being for wineries. This place, Bodegas Paso Robles, and last but not least, Le Cuvier Winery were among his chosen best. So, we hit them all on the same day, and agreed completely.
Adelaida Cellars is located in a remote area high above Paso Robles, in the rolling hills of Central California. Surrounded by groves of walnut trees, almonds, olives, and grapes, this is a scenic drive that will help anyone unwind, as if anyone seriously needs unwinding after a full day of wine tasting.
Frankly, I fail to remember a lot about this winery, senior moments probably. No spectacular views of the valley below but the location is still peaceful and lovely. What I do remember are the 3 large glass containers of soil samples that look dull and chalky. Dirt, essentially, displayed for your tasting room’s pleasure, rather than wine barrels and gift shop items. The real reason for their wine’s uniqueness. Add to that the entertainment Tony, the pourer, provided, stories about the history, geography, and usage of their land, this place was riveting. And the wines, wonderful.
We came away with a couple of spectacular wines. Those that made their way home with us included the 2011 Zinfandel Michaels Estate, and the 2008 The Don (a port wine). As we left clutching our bottles, we felt like we had definitely gotten the high dollar tour and a special introduction to the uniqueness of Mother Earth’s bounty.
This is a great addition to your winetasting experience.

This was one of the wineries recommended by our hotel, so we decided to venture out and swing by right when it opened at 10 am on Sunday. haha :)
It was quite a drive (through some winding roads) to get to this winery from the downtown area, but we got here! There’s spotty (almost no) cell phone reception in the area, but there were plenty of wildflowers blooming along the hillside & right next to the tasting room. GORGEOUS yellow flowers lined the fields /​vineyards /​hills nearby. See photo for what I mean.
Through Unilocal,if you check-​in — you get a complimentary wine tasting (if you buy a bottle of wine afterwards). We did just that and just had 1 tasting.
The man at the counter was very ‘matter of fact’ and pretty said «ok, well let’s get on with the tasting then!». He didn’t even let us choose which wines we wanted to taste and basically forced us to taste ALL of the wines on the list. It’s like — what the heck?
He’s retired and has been working at the winery for 15 years. He stated it proudly too. I think our tasting experience went down south because of his «disgruntled» chatter. Maybe he wasn’t enthused that we were there for a free tasting; but I mean — why not? It’s a Unilocal offer AND we saw on the menu that the $ 10 tasting fee is waived with wine purchase.
Very bizarre.
Anyways, we ended up buying the last wine we tasted on the tasting list — a $ 35 bottle of sweet dessert wine, as highlighted below:
The Don Port Style Wine Bobcat Vineyard 2008
«an authentic representation of Port, this is a blend of 3 estate grown traditional Portuguese varieties. Fortified with a 2 year old brand and aged in barrel for 4 years, The Don shows a bouquet of super ripe plums and black licorice, merging into a sweet, fat finish of tiramisu and blackberry extract»
BTW, we thought the tasting room was quite small compared to some of the others we visited on Sunday.
