The wine was excellent, some of the best we had in Paso. Must stop by if you enjoy GSMs and other Rhone blends. The Syrah was excellent as well. Very pleasant people too, we met the owner who was a character but very friendly. Would definitely recommend for those looking for a hidden gem, and care more about the wine than anything else.

A nice small winery, with decent selections of whites and reds. The Viognier was not as dry as most; however it was a perfect sip for a warm summer day and would pair perfectly with a spicy dish as we enter into summer. I quickly picked up a bottle of it and am looking forward to drinking it!
Looking forward to more good things from this awesome little gem!
Plus, was an *super* name like Carina – it can’t be anything but fabulous! :)

This review is for the Del Real label, carried at the Paso Robles location. This brand convinced me to become a wine member. The fall club shipment included 2 bottles of the 2007 Zinfandel and I brought one of the bottles to a group of fellow wine afficionados at a wine event last night, and it stole the show! The bottle was emptied in no time flat and everyone was smiling after their pours. I’m coming to Paso soon and was summond to bring back some more bottles of this terrific juice!

Surprised there hasn’t been a review for a while, this place is a hidden gem, they have absolutely delicious wines and provide you with paired cheeses as well. Instead of just a quick tasting, it really gives you the experience and helps you recognize what you could pair some of their delicious wines with! They also had a second wine at the tasting room, Del Real, which wasn’t too shabby either! To go along with the wine and cheeses, the wineries cat had recently had kitten’s and little kittens C.C. and D.R. were pretty damned cute. Swing by and give them a chance, affordable good wines.

We had the nicest time at Carina. Our pourer was so nice. I like that they give you a little something to pair with your wine (ie chorizo, cheese). We had a very relaxing tasting. And the wines were really good. I liked the Viognier and the Clairvoyant. We also got to meet the owner.
I recommend stopping by Carina!

This winery is a hidden gem. We have been tasting here on a regular basis for a bout a year. We joined the wine club in March at Zin Fest. We took (actually had shipped by Wine Country Pack and Ship) 2 bottles of Mourvedre and a bottle of Clarvoyant to Chicago when we went to visit family, both were great, the Mourvedre was a stand out hit!
We went in again today to taste and pick up wine club shipments and were pleasantly surprised to find out they are doing food pairings. Tasting room manager Nicolette paired the wines with awesome cheeses and meats that make everything sparkle on the palate. It was a real treat and something you see less and less of these days in the county. The granache blanc pairing with the apricot stilton was ridiculous! Buy some and the whole experience is free, otherwise $ 5 tasting. The Winter Blend is out for $ 20 bucks a bottle– (only $ 15 for club members like me:)
The whole Adelaida/​Naci Lake Dr. corridor has some «don’t miss» wineries. Carina, Alta Colina, Chronic and Mondo. Start at Carina and work your way back to town. You won’t be disappointed!

Our 4th stop during the Paso Robles Harvest Wine Weekend.
And this was THE definite highlight. Granted we came during their BBQ dinner bash, but they delivered on so many levels.
First off, the wines are the centerpiece of any winery dinner and thankfully Carina wowed us. Ryan the Winemaker was there and I thanked him for all of the tasty varietals. While everything was solid, the blends were special.
The Clairvoyant ($ 28) is a Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre blend — full of pomegranate and plum goodness. The Sibylline ($ 36) is also a GSM blend but more floral, spicier, and bolder than the Clairvoyant.
The 7% ($ 36) is a unique blend of Syrah and Viognier (7% worth) that gives the normally smoky red a fragrant and fun twist.
Rochelle the Hostess prepared for us a delicious BBQ dinner of sausages, chicken, grilled beef, and various salads while we chilled in the cool Paso air listening to good old live rock and roll.
After dinner we resumed drinking, befriending fellow party goers (we were hugging everyone) and meeting with owner David himself. We were even invited by one of the guests to crash at David’s house on the hill.
A great unpretentious winery that represents Paso Robles at it’s best.

We got to talk with the wine maker here and the owner of the winery. Their tasting room is in a large warehouse facility with the wine dogs and wine cats walking around. What I liked about the place was that they offered cheese plates to purchase to have with your wine tasting. We recently enjoyed drinking a bottle of their Grenache Blanc. We also purchased their Mourvedre. Both are fantastic.

This is what wine tasting is all about. Casual atmosphere and good wine. The Rhone blends, Clairvoyant and Sibylline, were especially nice.
The new tasting room is not finished, so the tasting is done in a warehouse with the barrels. A stray dog that adopted the winery and a black cat roamed freely. When the cat settled on my lap while I was sitting in an easy chair, the gentleman working the tasting room brought me a nearly full glass of wine so that I wouldn’t need to get up.
My wife and I spent an hour there chatting about the wines and winery and tasting a lot of wine.

We made Carina Cellars our last stop before heading to lunch, and had just came from 4 other wineries. We were the only ones in the tasting room, which was a shock since all of the other wineries were packed. The young lady helping us was extremely friendly.
Price for the tasting $ 5. I wasn’t crazy about anything that I tried, but because service was so good, I had to buy something. We purchased a bottle of Mourvedre for $ 38. Their price point for their wines are quite high, and like I said there was nothing there that really justified the pricing. However, they make it up in being so darn nice!

I didn’t love their wine, but they did have one or two quite nice ones. In fairness, I visited Carina in between Villacana and Adelaida, which have been around longer and are, dare I say, more experienced.
The Zinf and the ‘Clairvoyant’ are quite nice.

Although the kittens outside get 5 stars, the wine is ok. It’s in no way bad, but compared to the other vineyards in the area, it’s only ok. That said, I did go home with a bottle of their $ 30 Zinfandel.
I don’t know why this is, but many wineries in the area, Carina included, don’t do a lot of blends. I don’t know enough about wine to really know how this works. But many of Carina’s wines were 100% something. I think that’s fine if the wine tastes good, but I don’t see the point in doing the 100% something just for the hell of it. But then again, I did buy their 100% Zinf.
Carina is a very young vineyard. They have been making wine wine 2001 and have been in this location since December or so, 2008. For their age, I have to say «not bad.» I think they need a bit more experience and some time for their vines to mature.
All in all, I thought it was ok, but the most memorable part of my visit was playing with their adorable kittens.
