Established in 2010.

Dr. Grote, after selling Arden Animal Hospital in 1998, decided after a short hiatus to bring his compassion and veterinary knowledge to people who would rather have their pets taken care of in the comfort of their own home.

Dr. Grote has been practicing veterinary medicine and surgery in the southern California area since 1982. He has owned and managed 3 practices during that time. The last one was Arden Animal Hospital in Glendale, CA. Since then he has been involved in veterinary medicine in different capacities, doing consulting, specialized surgery and general practice.

This guy is AMAZING! Our beloved dog Ellie was 15 ½ years old and we new her end was near. When the time came we were beside ourselves with fear and worry. We didn’t want to take our beloved girl to the Vet hospital for her last moments. Dr Grote came right over and helped us with her. He explained what the symptoms indicated and explained that she was very sick… we knew that :(but now we knew why. He gave her a sedative and patiently waited with us and encouraged us to be close to her. When she passed he was most comforting, a truly kind and compassionate man.

Dr. Grote came to our home so our baby girl did not have to take a car ride on her last day of life. She had gotten terminally ill and we knew it was time.
He could not have been better. He was so gentle and sweet. He talked us through what was happening. He let us take our time. I couldn’t have asked for a more professional and pleasant stranger to help us on one of the worst days of my life. Thank you, Dr. Grote

I am still in a great deal of pain and depression but this man was just so kind. He was always there to answer my calls, put my mind at ease several times. His process is kind and gentle. He kept me informed as best he could thru the process. He is very compassionate and considerate. Although I wish to god I never met this man due to the circumstances, I’m glad it was his gentle touch and tone that my precious baby felt in his las moments.

I am incredibly relieved to have found Dr. Grote. My ten year old pit bull has been getting grouchier and grouchier going to the vet. She gets very stressed by all of the sounds and smells, and I’ve been wanting to find an alternative solution. Dr. Grote is fantastic to work with. He has a flexible schedule, punctual, organized, and so very kind and sweet. In the ten years I have had my dog, I have never been terribly impressed with a vet, but Dr. Grote has such excellent bed side manners. He is very knowledgeable on nutrition, and even took the time to look over my dog’s food to make sure it is a good match for her. I am so grateful to have found such an amazing vet!

I put my kitty to sleep today with Dr. Grote. I can’t tell you how appreciative I am of him. Yesterday I called multiple mobile vets for an idea/​comparison. Not only was Dr. Grote more affordable, he spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, assessing her over the phone, talking about her condition, talking about the decision (or not) of Euthanasia. Etc. Today I decided to go ahead with it. He came to my house, was very calm, patient and detailed in explaining the process. I held her, and let her go to sleep in my arms. When it was over, her put her in a kitty bed, with a blanket as if she was sleeping. A nice final visual. Overall, It was so personal and peaceful. Thank you Dr. Grote.
