I love this place always a pleasure to work with an they are very accommodating. Every step and procedure explained. Price is never a surprise. I appreciate the professional staff from the front desk to the doctors – it takes a team. Clean rooms and waiting area. I highly recommend this veterinarian to everyone. Coco and I approve:)

Hands down the best around. My dog has skin problems. I have been to three other vets before and
None could figure out the problem. One of my customers told me about Pasadena pet hospital and she had nothing but good things to say.
So, I came in– loved it and now this is my spot

I have taken my cat here several times since she was a kitten. Each vet she saw was extremely informative, really sweet and caring. I went to a discounted clinic to get my kitty spayed because I could not afford Pasadena Pets price. Big mistake. She developed an infection however the vets at Pasadena Pets assisted in fixing the infection and helped her get better. I see there have been complaints about the front desk personnel. I have never had a negative experience. They are also very accommodating and sweet. If there are long hold times (the longest I have experience was no more than 5 minutes) it’s because they are busy in high demand-that’s not a bad thing. It just confirms that this pet hospital is popular based on the quality of service it provides.

I had to shop around, my pet is in need of a serious procedure and Dr. Fan was one of my favorite Vets.
She had a good understanding of procedures and the most efficient and evasive methods to improve my pet’s health. We talked through options and how I might be able to get everything done.
The first visit is discounted, I got a competitive estimate and I left feeling as though she actually cared about what happened to my pet.
I’ve been disappointed by Los Angeles Vets, many seem most concerned about money and behave as if my pet was a commodity, easily replaced with another. I tend to think differently about it. Dr. Fan and the staff at Pasadena Pets Hospital are a welcomed exception.
I would easily make her my regular Vet, I hope she gets the appreciation and clientele she deserves.

Before coming to see Dr Stan, I had frequented a vet in a pet store chain. After a very wishy washy diagnosis on an ongoing problem which seemed more dangerous than «maybe your dog just likes to drink a lot of water» I began looking for a better vet.
I found Dr Stan based on his wonderful Unilocal reviews and I’m SO GLAD I did. My (extremely expensive — in vet bills) Pomeranian has had major medical issues in the past (he already had surgery for stone removal and is on Rx dog food) so when he acts odd I have to bring him in immediately. Dr Stan is like the «Dr House» of pets and he immediately suspected Explodie’s symptoms as Cushings disease which was confirmed via blood tests. After getting him set on Meds he’s been back to his normal yappy self.
Of course being that he’s expensive, Explodie & I frequent Dr Stan many times with other odd ailments and he has helped us solve many very weird issues (one time we woke up and his brown eyes were WHITE like a ghost and it appeared he was going blind) and even follows up after each visit. He also responds quickly to phone or email questions.
Everyone in the office is very helpful and we usually are seen in a timely manner even when we don’t have an appointment (one time at our old vets, we had to wait over an hour when Explodie had eaten poisonous mushrooms and I was pretty sure he was on the verge of death.) wish I had found dr Stan sooner!

Right after I adopted my dog I took her to my local vet who said she was fine and she should be better in a few months. She had ulcers on her nose and the vet told me to «give it time». I didn’t trust the vet so I spent a few hours looking for a 5-​star veterinarian in my area. I came across Pasadena pets and I’m so glad I did!
Dr. Stan is definitely the best veterinarian around! I’ve taken my dog for a few consultations, dental cleaning, and a biopsy. He is always very thorough with his explanations and isn’t the type to try to rush out and get on to the next patient. He takes his time to answer questions and he lays out all your options. You don’t feel pressured to make a decision right away. He also responds to my emails within a few hours which is so great!
As far as pricing goes I would have to say that it’s not pricey for the quality of service you are getting.
The waiting room is very clean and it smells so fresh. The consultation rooms are also clean and don’t reek of dog pee like other vets offices.
Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. What I absolutely LOVED is that they have you fill out laminated forms with a washable marker so they can reuse them once you have filled out your info! Such a great way to go green :)
I always make an appointment and they usually get me in in less than a week. I’ve never had to sit in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes.

How on EARTH have I not reviewed Pasadena Pets yet? I’m seriously mad at myself for not reviewing this place sooner (like, years ago). I will keep this short and sweet: Dr. Stan is the BEST veterinarian around. We’ve been coming here for about 3 years now and would never go anywhere else. Dr. Stan is wonderful with our golden retriever and our cat. He is calm and gentle with our pets when he examines them. He is honest and trustworthy and has never tried to upsell us for something we didn’t need. While they are pricier than other vets, it’s truly worth it (at least for us), as we know that we’re getting the best care around!
Oh, and my parents AND my husband’s parents come here too for their dogs and they love Dr. Stan too! :-)

I thought the staff here was nice enough. They answered a lot of questions for us. The bill was a little hefty I thought. My reason for a low rating for this place was we came in three times over the Christmas holiday with the potential that my dog might need surgery Saturday or Monday following. Luckily he was able to pass what was going on in his intestine, but no one from the vet even bothered to call and check in. I moved recently, but my last two vets always reached out to find out that Buddha was better. Considering that they were suggesting surgery, the least I was expecting was a call the following open day to check and see his health, but nope. I wouldn’t return here because of that. I expect my vet to remember my dog and to be concerned that he is better, not to just make whatever money they can while they can.

Came here few days ago because my little poodle injured her neck. At first, they told me it was fully booked today. I told them my dog seems like so hurtful. Luckily walk in customer are welcome, but you will to come as early as possible. The place is so clean and new. The front desk staff and Dr. Stan are so friendly. After getting an injection it helped to release the pain. She is getting better each day. Highly recommend to this place if your dog gets sick or just for regular body check.

I love Pasadena Pets! They gave me a free visit for my chihuahua rescue, who was very ill. After an IV of fluids & anti-​nausea meds, he bounced right back. The friendly staff & fast service turned a stressful situation into a great experience. Thank you!

We came here with our 3 year old rescued greyhound. Dr. Michele was nice in person, and checked our dog’s physicals and stuff. However, we did not like the non-​communication.
1. We asked about the rabies shoot. As our dog had already taken the shot for the year, and had paper work for it, we wanted to see if the vet would give us a tag. Dr Michelle all of a sudden became uncomfortable and said she’ll see what she can do, but then she changed her answer and said oh, since our dog didn’t do the shots here, they can’t give us a tag. They were almost pushing us to get another rabies shot here, but I thought it was weird having my dogs taking the shot twice in a year when she doesn’t NEED the medication! So I looked up online and it says as long as I have my paper work, my dog doesn’t have to have the tag. So I let this go.
2. We had our dog’s paperwork on heart worm tests this year but need Doctor prescription for continuing preventative heart worm pills. When we asked the front desk, they said we can buy the heartguard in their store right then. It was overpriced so I thought I could just go online and buy it. When I shopped online, the online store contacted this place and asked if our dog has gotten the test, the front desk told them no. Front desk then called me and told me that since we didn’t do the heart worm test here, they can’t prescribe. So i can buy the same medication in their store without doing a test at their overpriced store, but they wouldn’t give permission to online store. Why? I am suspecting at this point they just want my money.
3. Our dog had a T4 test when she was with the rescue as all greyhounds get checked for this particular test. So we inquired about it to dr Michelle. She said she can’t prescribe medicine or tell us anything about it unless we do a blood test. Ok I understand, must be a liability issue. So we did the blood test ($ 79), and the numbers for our dog is low so dr Michelle tells us she wants to increase the prescription. However, we were warned before that greyhounds have low T4 number and doesn’t NEED to be treated. So we wanted to discuss with the doctor before changing the medication. But Dr Michelle is nowhere to be reached. We called twice, the first time, the front desk person told us dr Michelle is in a surgery. So we explained that we would like her to explain to us about how she came up with the dosage of the medication before we agree to it. The front desk says, ok I’ll ask her. A day pass by, front desk calls back instead of the Doctor, and tells us, «the Doctor insist on giving her the high dosage medication.» We said ok, but why? Front desk cannot answer so yet again we requested dr Michelle to call us. She never did. Third time, we called around 2:30 explained we never got the call back and asked to speak with the Doctor, front desk says, oh she’s at lunch, she’s busy. At this point I feel that we do not have the transparency of how the medication is prescribed. I am not going to consent to something until I fully understand. The Doctor also said once they up the dosage, they have to do ANOTHER blood work in a month. We have gotten no response from the vet until today. My dog is not sick, and I don’t see the point of keep doing tests without telling me what all these are based on. They have breached my trust to the highest level that I can only conclude that 1 they have too many customers they don’t really care about each one of them, or have time for us. 2 they just want my money without giving me the service of caring for my dog and discussing the medical situations with me. This is extremely unprofessional, So we are not going back to this place. Thank you for not caring for your patient.

Dropped the little guy off for his annual and to get a few shots. He was super anxious and was running a low fever, so they had us leave him there for a few hours to make sure he wasn’t sick. He was just fine!
The staff clearly loves pets and the people who bring them here. Super attentive and super caring.
Not the largest veterinary hospital, but very clean and reasonable pricing.

I had such a great experience here at Pasadena Pets this week. Granted, they were really busy for a Wednesday, but they were able to squeeze Kiki in for a (non-​anesthetic) teeth cleaning, a physical, provided a courtesy nail trim and got all her shots in.
Above it all though, Dr. Michelle Wu is genuinely amazing. She was very gentle with Kiki, our maltipoo, who was in absolute terror and trembling like a leaf. Dr. Wu was kind, professional, and went above and beyond to make me feel like Kiki was in good hands. She was super knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions and make me feel at ease with some of Kiki’s slight abnormalities. She even called the next day to discuss her lab results with me! It’s not everyday you meet someone who genuinely cares about your pet as much as you do.
This will definitely be my primary place for any future pet needs.

Believe it. This place truly deserves its 5-​star rating on Unilocal.My previous vet’s office (where I have brought all my dogs in the past 20 years) has become too far and inconvenient to drive to.

Dr. Stan is an extremely knowledgeable vet with an AMAZING bedside manner. He is thorough in explaining diagnosis, options, next steps, etc. Dr. Stan always calls back as soon as he is able and replies to all e-​mails in a timely manner. Dr. Stan also follows up by calling to check-​in and to deliver lab results. THANK YOU Dr. Stan and staff.
Fees are reasonable for a «top notch» vet. (I have paid more at other facilities in the past but as all responsible dog owners know, pet ownership is never «cheap» which will include major vet expenses during the life of the pet.)
I am truly impressed (for someone who is hard to impress). Highly recommended.

In all seriousness: he is extremely knowledgeable and is great at explaining your pet’s issues and laying out all your options.
Read some past reviews and want to defend the front desk: PPVH is popular (for good reason) and they’re juggling 10 000 000 things at the same time — they do it well and with smiles on their faces! I have the utmost respect for them and their ability to be calm when dealing with a bunch of animals and their (sometimes overbearing) owners.

The vets here are so genuine and caring! Dr. Christina is my puppy’s (and my) first vet, and while I was initially nervous because I was (am still) a pet noob, Dr. Christina was reassuring and instructive during every visit. She is extremely thorough and makes sure that Avery gets the treatment she needs, and always offers alternatives and suggestions that might better fit her. Dr. Christina is also extremely responsive and communicative – when she says she will send us results, she actually calls AND emails us with updates.
Aside from great vets, this facility is also extremely clean and welcoming. For all of the dogs and cats that come in, the linoleum is surprisingly clean and shiny, and the waiting room is devoid of pee odor! I don’t know how they do it, but I’d like to know their secret (s) someday. The receptionists are always nice with the pets, and have treats and water available for waiting patients.
If you are bringing your baby pets in for the first time, definitely consider the care plans. I bought the puppy care package, which includes all the series shots and a number of tests and follow-​up visits, and it was easy to schedule and handle everything because each step is planned out for you – extremely helpful for a first-​time pet owner.

Another tip: make an appointment! I did a walk-​in the other day and waited nearly an hour as I watched puppy after puppy being called in…

For those of you with a thirst for detail, the following is much more extensive–
No Fomo.
Context — My main man Pablo was getting lethargic and not moving much. Not a great sign and not fun for the ol’ ticker as I’m sure you all know. I Unilocaled meticulously and PPV won out.
Called, got an appointment right away no prob. And they take Care Credit. Score!
Front desk– First time I walked in everybody was super friendly and kind. Now that I’m there a few times a week (subcutaneous fluid injections, awesome!) (not) (lol) I feel like Norm from Cheers everytime I walk in. They are FANTASTIC.
Doctor– Doctor Michelle was super super sweet with Pablo, and really took the time to get to know him by touch talk and energy. Plus she listened to my crazy behind go on and on about P’s eccentricities. She took them all into account.
Test recommendations– she laid it out, found ways to save while still addressing what was necessary, and put no pressure on me. I found it easy to digest, and her energy never wavered from calm and kind. Doctor Michelle = #crushingdagame
First round of treatments– all I gotta is the techs are beasts. Love beasts, skill beasts, just, rad.

Epilogue — Found out my little homie’s CRF (Chronic Renal Failure) had worsened. Doctor Michelle followed up when she said she would, broke the news in a compassionate and direct way, and answered my 1,000 plus questions patiently. When I asked for different options for treatment, I didn’t detect an ounce of judgement, just told me what I could do.
I was going to learn how to do the IV he needs every other day on my own, but I just haven’t gotten the hang of it. We had originally planned for me to go in and do it with them a couple of times. But… it’s just me. And he hates it at home. And, he LOVES the attention and energy he gets from the lovely ladies and gents at PPV. PS MY CAT HATES THIS KIND OF **** NORMALLY. PPS they are totally cool with you being in the back with your pet, which will help your pet alot. SO GET YOUR SIMPLE BEHIND BACK THERE AND BE WITH YOUR FAMILY LOL!
To conclude — I’m there three times a week for 15 minutes, they help me with the injection, sometimes they don’t even charge me and when they do it’s $ 8, and they are freaking super supportive and awesome the whole time. They never treat me like they want me out of there– P and I always feel welcome.

I still bring my cats here regularly but if I had to make one suggestion it would be to the front desk people. If you have a customer in front of you who took the time to make an appointment and drive there, he/​she ought to take priority over those who call.
As it is, people who call get to virtually cut in line. Forcing the customer standing right in front of you to wait.
I realize from the reviews here that people complain about hold times. A better practice if you’re busy is to let calls go to voicemail with the intention of returning those messages when you’re slow. People would much rather leave a message than be placed on hold for 10 minutes.

Pasadena Pets does a fine job to take care of my dog.
Pros:
+ Short wait for appointments, and short wait in the lobby when the appointment time rolls around.
+ Treatment rooms are clean and bright, and have no discernible smell like some vets.
+ Staff are caring and gentle from what I’ve seen.
+ The vet has told me when he recommends using another specialist (i.e. a dog dental specialist) rather than himself. I appreciate the honesty and looking out for my dog’s well being.
Cons:
— Prices are a little higher for some services than I would like.
