Accurate Autoworks

Found this place through a few different review sites. I have been here twice and each time everything was worked out perfectly. They are all very nice and very transparent with costs and what needs to be done and they never talk to you like you’re an idiot. This is a great shop and I always trust these guys. They will literally fix anything!

The owner, Jon, is experienced, capable, and honest. You can’t ask for more. This will always be my go-​to place for all my car work.

I have been coming here for years, and I have never had a problem. In fact there were times when I thought something needed to be repaired or replaced due to the age/​mileage – and the mechanics would talk me out of it because they thought it would be a waste of my money. Through the years I have referred others to Accurate Autoworks, and they were all impressed with the honesty of the mechanics and the quality of service. I have had other mechanics try to rip me off; and I have had dealerships try and rip me off. However, I HAVE NEVER had to worry about anyone at Accurate Autoworks overselling, or creating more problems. For those who expect mechanics to diagnose problems without charging or want to call and shop around for a «better» deal – remember you get what you pay for – especially with automobile service.
Years ago, I had an issue on my Honda that defied logic and reason – the dealership couldn’t figure it out despite the car being new and under warranty – but the mechanics at Accurate Autoworks worked on it tirelessly and finally figured out the crazy problem that had eluded the dealership.
Anyway, I am always happy to refer people to Accurate Autoworks. A good mechanic is hard to find – and I am so happy I found Accurate Autoworks years ago!

Please do not go here! This is a very clear warning. I only write Unilocal reviews when it can really help others. I wish I had read the help reviews more intensely. I took my car to see what the problem was and they called me back just before closing saying my car was un drivable. They were extremely rude to me and disrespectful. Now they say I must pay 650 dollars to even be able to drive it. I know they broke it on purpose and it’s a lie. I looked at the car and it was all torn apart. I was nearly in tears. How can you try to force someone to pay that without consulting them? How can you take apart my car when I just asked you what is wrong? It is very very sad. This business needs to go under. I repeat save yourself grief do not go here. I now have no car and no money. They have ruined my car and they do not care at all. It is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I will have to find another mechanic and that will cost even more to try to first fix what they damaged. In the meantime I’ll be on the bus.

This guy charged me $ 250 just to diagnose my car, which turned out to have a blown head gasket. I don’t expect people to work for free, and I trust it was some work to figure out what the issue was. But I have trouble believing that $ 250 worth of labor was actually done on my car, and nothing was actually fixed. I ended up having it towed to a much better place and getting it done for far less than this guy estimated. And I wasn’t treated like an annoyance for asking questions.

Throwing down $ 2500 is never fun unless you’re making it rain in da club and if that’s the case, $ 2500 worth of ones would create a serious cash storm. However I don’t have a bank account that allows for such frivolity as the before mentioned activity, so when my car died somewhat unexpectedly and I had to leave it in the hands of AA (per AAA’s suggestion), I was less uneasy about the whole situation since they held my hand the whole way, pointing out every ounce of work that needed to be done and even alerted me to wrongful doings from previous mechanics so that I could be more prepared to insist on certain parts moving forward. They were timely, informative, and communicative throughout the whole process and for that, I’m super appreciative.
I wish there were some bells and whistles to go along with the needed services, like a car wash, bringing my car up to the front for me upon check out, and removing the paper floor mats, but that’s probably just amenities I’m used to from dealerships that I end up paying for since they tend to charge for in the form of an arm, leg, foot, intestine, and/​or liver.
I’m thankful for AAA recommending these guys, because now I have a place I can trust with my car when it’s in need of some maintenance (which hopefully won’t be for another gazillion years thanks to their watchful eye)!

Had a great experience with these guys using a coupon. Didn’t get oversold on anything (oil change and full inspection) and all done within the time frame. They even fixed a loose passenger side mirror that came loose for free.
I’ll be back!

From my experiences, this is an honest and solid shop. I’ve never felt ripped off and from time to time they’ll throw you a bone e.g. the repaired my front bumper for pretty much free when I had my 60k done on my 2007 Civic. Jon is a super nice dude as well. I feel comfortable coming here all the way from the West Side.
Edit: I went in for a knocking noise when turning sharply, and it turned out my CV boot was torn on one side. Erik suggested I check with Honda because it might be under warranty. I did and it was covered under my 60k drivetrain warranty. Props to Honda of Pasadena for essentially taking my car with no questions asked and saying, «OK, we’ll have it back to you this afternoon.», but thanks to Erik’s advice, I didn’t pay a dime.

We have been taking our Lexus here for 6 years now. I love these guys. Totally trustworthy. They tell you like it is, fix what they need to fix, and they DON’T add stuff on and try to squeeze money out of you. If there is an issue with something that can wait, they will tell you that too. They also will pick you up and come and get you when the car is done too. Now that is service. I never write reviews, but these guys deserve a good one. Oh yeah, and I’m a female. They DON’T take advantage of a female either, thinking we don’t know anything about cars. Highly recommended!

I have been bringing my cars to Accurate for quite a few years, as well as my family has trusted Accurate with their cars. This last visit Jon went above and beyond. They worked overtime to make sure my car was in safe condition to drive. I appreciate all they did for me and will continue to use Accurate for all my car servicing needs.
It is really hard to find a mechanic you can trust and I know I can trust the guys at Accurate. I don’t live in Pasadena anymore, but still commute here just for the trustworthy service.

I was having problems with my old 1999 Infiniti I30T and was referred to this repair shop by the AUTO CLUB. I had the free inspection and diagnostic. They told me that I had a problem with my fuel injection system. According to the shop I had to replace ALL six fuel injectors and that that was the only way to fix the problem. Well, they quoted me a lot which I could not afford and took it to a different mechanic.
The new mechanic was able to quickly diagnose the problem and had to replace only two injectors. The third injector needed cleaning and the rest were fine. It appears that Accurate Autoworks doesn’t know how to diagnose a problem to min cost to us customers, instead the replace all the parts that they think is causing the problem and hope it fixed the problem.
They should change their name to «REPLACEMENT AUTOWORKS» Always get a second opinion and don’t trust their Auto Club certification. I’m not coming to this shop again… I would have given one star, but the repair shop was clean.

I have been going to Accurate Autoworks for about 5 years now. They are ethical, honest, and offer high quality repair. (On my first visit I asked them to hack a solution to an air-​conditioning problem using plastic ties the same way my old mechanic had done, and they declined, saying that they only do proper, quality work) They tell me which repairs are urgent and may affect safety (e.g. brakes) and which repairs can be put off or ignored because they don’t affect safety (e.g. the light on my gear shift) When I have had minor issues with headlights, they have helped me for free as a courtesy. Once my car broke down a few blocks away and the owner personally came to where I was, push started the car, and got it to his shop. They always patiently explain things to me without ever being condescending to me as a woman. Truly ethical, friendly, quality shop.

Have been taking both of our cars here for years. We are the types who drive our cars until they die, so having a good mechanic is really important. They keep excellent records and are always very professional. Have mostly worked with Erik and Ken through the years and both of these guys are great. They are patient and thorough in answering questions and make helpful recommendations about which are the most urgent repairs needed and which can wait, which is key when money is an issue. Highly recommended.

Once again, masterful and skilled work from Accurate Autoworks. I rely on them for honesty, clarity, and reliability. PREVIOUS mechanics took shortcuts, left out parts, forgot essential things (i.e. «turning the rotors»). Which is why I stopped going to anyone else but Accurate.[Yes they might cost a bit more, but they do it RIGHT, without leaving steps out. Ever.]
Their email reminders are great, too.

My husband and I have been taking our cars to Accurate for fifteen years.
Although they specialize in Japanese cars, we also bring our Dodge Truck to them for regular maintenance. They are a true neighborhood mechanic, remembering us when we come in and carefully explaining the details of every repair to us.
When the insurance company wanted to total my beloved 20-​year old Honda, Ken (behind the counter) and Jon (the owner) figured out how to repair it but stay within the range my insurance wanted to pay.
I know how to do most of my own regular maintenance myself, but it’s easier and saves me time to take our cars to Accurate. I trust them to do the job right and for a fair price.

Jon and Eric from Accurate Autoworks are extremely friendly and helped me out in a pinch. I was leaving town the next day and they were able to squeeze me in! The prices were as quoted and the job was done very well. Thanks guys!

The gentlemen at Accurate Autoworks (Jon, Ken, Erik) have all been wonderful to work with over the last few months. I’m a (virtual) Admin Assistant, and my clients all live in different states around the country.
One of my clients lives in Pasadena California, and he asked me to find a place to take his car for some minor repairs. I located Accurate Autoworks, called them and made the appointment for my client. The car was dropped off, the work completed, and my client drove away extremely pleased.
A short time later, my client’s car was damaged by another vehicle in the parking lot of his college. I once again called upon Accurate Autoworks, and they handled the bodywork and two additional items my client decided to have repaired. The work Accurate did was wonderful, and my client once again drove away stress-​free and happy.
I particularly like that all three of the gentlemen take my calls and answer my (many) questions patiently and knowledgeably. Excellent service, excellent work!

This place charged me for unnecessary repairs! And it wasn’t cheap!
I will never go back to this place!

When I was driving my old Acura Legend, I had to come in and get the radiator replaced/​fixed.
They’re a bit pricey, but I assume it’s ’cause of them «specializing» on Honda/​Acura cars almost exclusively.
I had to wait several days, before I could come by to pick the car up. Of course it wasn’t just the radiator that needed fixing, it also need new sensors.
Meh, it was like 500 $ worth of shit that need fixing.
There are better shops out there.
