As a practicing family law attorney with nearly 35 years of experience Mr. Blum has extensive litigation experience. He has a thorough understanding of the statutes and court cases bearing on the issues of child and spousal support, property division, and restraining orders.
Mr. Blum is an experienced mediator who also teaches a course on mediation at Stanford, lectures on mediation and serves as a volunteer mediator for the City of Palo Alto. He is also one of the founders of the Alternate Dispute Resolution Panel for the Palo Alto Area Bar Association. He also serves as a mediator for the San Mateo County Bar Association on their Alternate Dispute Resolution Panel.
Mr. Blum offers private judge services hearing family law matters. He gained the knowledge and expertise to be a private judge by being a volunteer judge pro tem in the family law courts and through his many years litigating family law cases.

Established in 1978.
Jeffrey P. Blum has successfully resolved hundreds of family law cases, including cases involving child custody/visitation, support, domestic violence and property division. He is an experienced mediator who teaches mediation at Stanford. He has lectured on Family Law Discovery and Property issues to attorneys and other professionals. He founded the Family Law Section and is co-chair of it for the Palo Alto Bar Association. He also created the Alternate Dispute Resolution Referral Panel for the local bar association along with a few other attorneys. He is on the Alternate Dispute Resolution Panel for the San Mateo County Bar Association as a mediator and arbitrator.

Mr. Blum volunteered extensively in the schools in Palo Alto for many years, including serving as a site council member and site council chair, serving as director of legislation for the Palo Alto Council of PTA’s and volunteering on school bond initiatives.
Mr. Blum served on the Palo Alto Human Relation’s Commission for 6 years, serving as chair of the commission for 1 year.
Mr. Blum also served on the YMCA Board of Directors.
Currently, Mr. Blum is a volunteer mediator with the Palo Alto Mediation Program.
Mr. Blum has had numerous articles published in a local newspaper on human relations issues as a member of the newspaper’s board of contributors.
