When I first met with Dr. Capelle in May of 2004 after a «manic attack» where I stopped sleeping for days on end due to stressing out regarding the results of my finals in college, I was skeptical. I suspected he’d buy into my dad’s story, that I was«jumpy» and needed medication to calm down and be boring and bland like most people. But he said he did not think I needed any medication then, because it had just been the stressful circumstances of college and not a constant condition. I did end up needing medication months later because of a reaction to Prednisone that fall, and we went with Capelle then. He was very diligent about my medications and took all of my questions and concerns seriously. We worked to get me off those medications, though sometimes I will admit I was weaning myself off them faster or more than he expected. Now, nine years later I am not medicated, but Capelle has always done a good job, and his dog was very fun to play with. Very good psychiatrist overall. The dog(dogs now) are kid friendly.

Dr. Capelle is an excellent psychiatrist. His forte is medications and he is very up to date on the latest meds and is very careful about interactions. He works with you to find meds that work. He is up on the latest research and will print out articles and refer you to web pages for more information. He is very thorough. My husband, my son and I have been going to him for years. The only negatives are that he will not bill insurance for you. Previously I had said that he will not allow the pharmacy to call him for refills — that was a total error on my part. he does indeed respond to refill requests from the pharmacy for medications that allow refills by FAX. Note that if you are allergic to dogs, that he sometimes has his one of his small pet dogs which are extremely quiet in the office. I consider this a plus.
