Mojave Resort

Me and my girlfriend have stayed here twice and have had an amazing experience, the front desk personnel is amazing, we were running late for check in once thinking we might have to go to a motel 6 for the night, as we got to front desk they had left our keys to pick since they were gone already. There was only one thing that bother me was their house keeping ladies, I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish up in the restroom and they came knocking and yelling to get out because we were supposed to check out. I explain to her and said she didn’t care and kept telling me to get out. Overall despite that incident it was a great experience and will be coming back again.

We just returned from the Mojave Resort after three days of rest and relaxation at this little gem in the desert. Steps from the trendy «El Paseo» shopping district, the Mojave takes you back in time as a retro, old school resort. From it’s fresh, orange and white theme, to it’s new, thick bath and pool towels, this place never disappointed. Joe and Mash at the front desk were very friendly and accommodating. The pool was awesome and the spa was getting a brand new heater as we departed. High water pressure in the shower along with fine amenities for body gel, shampoo and conditioner were provided and appreciated. The deal included continental breakfast was welcomed with fresh coffee, juices, cereals, pastries, bagels and cream cheese. All this for the fabulous Groupon price of $ 60 per night with the aforementioned breakfast included. WiFi, parking and any ridiculous «resort fees’ are all waived at this great find. This was our second visit here and we’ll be back, for sure!

Do NOT stay here if you are expecting to go to a resort. This place is nothing more than an inn, and it was falsely advertised on their website and groupon. They said this was a good place to come to in order to relax and even get a spa treatment. The pool was pretty much unusable during the day as it felt like you were swimming in hot bath water, with no shade and no place to relax at all. The place was advertised as a retro resort from the 1950s, but that was misrepresented as well. The rooms were just like you would find at an inn and the furniture was old with stains on it. The AC was nothing more than a tiny wall unit that barely cooled down the room.
We were so disappointed with this place that we stayed for only one night even though we were booked for two. We tried to get our money back for the night we didn’t use, but of course they told us that all sales were final. I told them that I was going to report them to the Better Business Bureau but they didn’t care. I still plan on doing that however.

This was my first girls getaway and I had the most relaxing time. The location is small but spacious at the same time (if u can make sense of that). this will b my go-​to spot when visiting again.

Spent last weekend here, gotta say it was GREAT. I found a groupon that saved me a bundle. The atmosphere was mellow. Everyone keeps to themselves. The staff is super friendly. The free breakfast isn’t great, but we had a kitchen which was waaay better. I do wish that they had a menu or something to tell you what channel is what. The ac is a bit loud, if you have it full blast. All and all this place was pretty kick-​ass with potential for greatness.

My favorite hotel in the Palm Springs area! Looks small from the outside, but the room was large, with a little kitchen, and even a patio! The check-​in and check-​out was super fast and easy, and the staff was really sweet. I would go back again most definitely!

We had such a great time staying here! The staff was so accommodating and helpful. Nice and clean, beautiful sparkling pool, and can’t beat the location– we could walk right down to El Paseo (Tommy Bahamas!) and enjoy all the shops and restaurants. The mid century vibe is so cool– and very well done. I would highly suggest to anyone heading to the desert!

This place is great!!! We had our company retreat here– they were so accommodating rooms were great and location could not be better!!! Thank you we will be back!

In a neighborhood area, walking distance to El Paseo (shops, restaurants, art galleries) This place was very clean. A must for me. Under anyone else’s care, this motel would probably just look like any other old hotel. But it definitely never felt like a run-​down joint.
Another reviewer (maybe on TripAdvisor) said the A/​C was annoying loud. Ours was more like a mellow white noise but that thing cranked. I could’ve set it anywhere from a simulated cool desert breeze to pseudo-​antarctic chills. The most important part about the A/​C is that when you want/​need it to work, it does and it can crank.
The pool was always clean. So was the poolside furniture. We only stayed one night so I can’t say how the turndown service was. But we needed a few things off and on (more tools, wine opener, etc) and we were always helped out right away and with a smile. Mash was awesome and extremely friendly.
Everytime we came in or out of the hotel there was someone at the front desk/​office. It made my wife feel even safer knowing there was always someone at the front gate. It wasn’t a rough area or anything. It was a very nice area actually. But whatever helps my baby sleep at night is worth jotting down for y’all. Also, free breakfast was nice. Took it out by the pool. Fresh coffee, bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, cereal. All good.
All in all, had a great time. We would love to come back here with friends.
P. S. We used a groupon deal and never felt like a second-​rate customer. Big plus in my book.

Not at all as described on the web site. The only thing «retro» was that the furniture and fixtures were old and in terrible shape. There was nothing upscale about the amenities and they did not even have toothpaste when I asked at the front desk. There were no floats for the pool — I was directed to Target if I wanted one. The continental breakfast was a terrible bagel or cereal. On the positive side, the location was perfect.

Beyond my expectations.
After searching far and wide for in the palm springs area for a room i came across this hotel. I didn’t know what to expect because i am new to the area. Fell in love instantly with the hospitality and attention to detail of this entire staff. My room was waiting for me when i get there. Unloaded my stuff and prepared for the tour de palm springs. The heated pool & spa were the icing on the cake.
I will definitely return in the future. Highly recommended to all my friends & fam!

Considered a throw back to the styling of classic Hollywood of the early 20^th century, this hotel is the perfect weekend getaway for both locals and tourists alike. I was looking for a weekend away from the distractions of city life and came by this hotel by chance on Groupon. I carefully researched it and after a few moments of consideration booked a room.
Arriving to this hotel after the sunset just added more nuance than I expected. I pulled up to this low profile hotel and was immediately enamored by the quaintness of it. The hotel office is a simple glass office with orange trimming that is found everywhere throughout the 24 room complex. Stepping into the office was a time warp, as if I stepped into an office off Route 66 back in its hay-​day. The counter clerk was very pleasant and without more than a few minutes I was given my key (an actual key with large orange keychain to match the hotel colors) and set off to my room.
Exterior: 5 stars
One of the things you notice immediately is how cozy everything feels. All the rooms face inward towards the interior of a courtyard that holds orange trees, a tiny brook and stream, and a classic pool with jacuzzi that screams sunbathing Marilyn Monroe and James Dean parties. As I stepped closer to my room I noticed the outside of my room had two patio chairs in the same orange color as the trim of the hotel and the walls facing the courtyard were all windows. This made the hotel feel even cozier, with each room a part of a larger community.
Interior: 5 stars
As I inserted my keys and opened the door to my hotel, I immediately gushed at the interior. Not only was the room spacious but it screamed with personality. On the left of the entrance laid a kitchenette with a tiny stove and oven, wall shelves to put dishware, a tiny sink and counter to make coffee (with coffee maker and coffee bags included), and a mini fridge for your late night snacks. To the right were two chairs and a coffee table in between. The fabric looked as though it was made of a brown twill and once you sat in one you knew immediately this chair contained the trappings of instant slumber. They were some of the most comfortable chairs I’ve had the pleasure of sitting on and I knew if the bed was a disappointment I had somewhere else to sleep.
Luckily, I wouldn’t have to go to that extreme because the bed was AMAZING! I ordered the deluxe king bed and it was not only soft but firm enough to cradle me to a comfortable sleep. It was so big I could’ve swam within the white linen fabrics. It was great to have so much open space to stretch and lay out and when I was in the room, that was the spot I pretty much occupied indefinitely.
A dresser is found directly across from the bed with flat screen on top. The lighting was patterned again to fit that retro style and it absolutely helped add personality to the room. To the right of the dresser and TV was the entrance to the restroom. The restroom contained a large open space for you to hang clothes, a sink with wide counter space, and the opening of the toilet and standing shower area. The shower area was great because it was just dark enough where you could brood if need be like a method actor but also warm enough to steam up the windows with your lover. On top of that, the toiletries provided are perhaps some of the best I’ve ever used. I actually enjoyed using the shampoo and body wash AND they smelled great and worked well. How often do you hear that from a hotel?!
As I awoke the next morning, I found myself walking outside to the front yard and seeing the sun shine brightly and illuminating the supple oranges from the emerald green leaves, and the sapphire soaked pool welcoming a warm day. I walked over near the office to enjoy the complimentary continental breakfast which I took back to bed and enjoyed until I had to check out at 11 AM.
Conclusion
Although Palm Desert isn’t my idea of a vacation destination, Mojave Resort was all that I wanted and all that I never knew I could have. It is hands down one of the best hotels I’ve ever visited. Though it might not be modern or have as high a production as the flashy hotels of Vegas and New York, Mojave Resort has the history and quaintness that makes it instantly lovable. You’ll find yourself leaving your heart here so you can return back to it again. I will come back here again and again.

I booked here based on other reviews… It was great! I’ve stayed at the other «name» resorts and they all seem too crowded and noisy. I wanted a relaxing weekend with the wife and we got it. It felt like we were transported to the days of the palm springs hay day, with all the modern comforts. We had the pool to ourselves all weekend long, clean towels aways readily available .The staff was great and courteous. One of the best perks was that There are great restaurants a quick walk away on else paseo and hwy 111. I will definitely stay at Mojave again!

Wow, love this place! Check-​in was easy… when is the last time you ever received an actual key to a hotel room? This retro hotel has many conveniences and has been completely renovated. It’s beautiful… has a kitchenette, large bathroom, WIFI, large screen tv, comfy bed, and patios not to mention was two steps away from the beautiful pool.
It is clean and the staff is exceptionally nice. Since there are only 22 rooms you have the opportunity to spend time at the pool getting to know everyone. We have stayed at some expensive hotels but this experience outweighed staying at most 5 stars. We will certainly be back.

I was so impressed with this place! I got a groupon deal which came out to be ~$ 135 for the weekend. I wasn’t expecting much for such a great price.
Check in was quick and easy, there are 2 room keys available for each room. There’s only about 20 rooms available, but the setup was cute, with the front of the rooms circling the pool/​grass area. The pool has a shallow area and gets as deep as 8 feet. I saw some families bring floaties and toys for the water, which is a great idea if you have toddlers or children with you
Palm desert is hotttt. But when my bf and I walked into our room, the a/​c was already on for us, helping us feel instantly at home. There was a kitchenette area with 4 stoves. There also a closet area that was in a separate room. The room had an ironing board, 2 ropes, and plenty of fresh towels. The curtains were thick to keep out the sun, and the walls seemed pretty thick as well since we slept without hearing a sound.
This place has QUALITY over quantity. The shampoo, conditioner, and body wash smelling great and actually was effective in cleansing myself with. The continental breakfast in the morning was delicious! They offered name brand cereal, bagels, Philadelphia cream cheese, bananas, yoplait yogurt, and Danishes. Orange juice too!
I had such a lovely time at the Mojave resort. Definitely a great, peaceful getaway for the weekend. Cute restaurants are available nearby, and the Palm Springs aerial tramway is about a 30 minute drive from the hotel. I hope to come back again!

Cute retro hotel in a great area; walk to huge luxury outdoor shopping. Concierge was awesome! Only reservation was that housekeeping didn’t close our room door completely; it was shut but didn’t click to lock. No complete spa on premise. Hot tub and external massage service. Great pool, decent breakfast buffet, close to palm springs and Joshua tree. Room includes kitchenette complete with plateware, glassware, microwave, mini fridge, wine key, qtips and cotton makeup removal pads, plenty of storage, even embrodiered robes, with individual patio furniture. We were so happy with our groupon purchase.

This place is so cute! We found it randomly when we were just cruising through Palm Desert. Our room was spacious with cooking kitchen and also a nice back patio. It is the hidden gem of Palm Desert!

I had two rooms. After the first night they switched my room because they first was so lacking in amenities and staff service. Neither room had:
–CD Player/​clock radio
–Mini bar
–Health club (Apparently they no longer have an agreement with the health club they used to partner with.)
–Luxurious bath amenities (The lotion had separated. It came out like water in both rooms and the conditioner lathered like shampoo in the first room. I didn’t try it in the second.)
–Spa services PLURAL (An independent massage contractor will come to the room or pool cabana, but she does not do service (s) plural, according to her business card.)
The first room also lacked:
–VCR
–Private patio (I had a step. The other rooms had patios with chairs and tables.)
In all fairness, Rhonda (the manager) did work to make it right and she comped my room the first night. She moved me to a larger room with a patio for the second night. However, they don’t have a health club, mini bars, spa services, etc. available at all. The place was fine, meaning average, but I was expecting more based on their website. If they were truthful in their advertising, they probably would not have disappointed customers. The place is clean and cute, but not a relaxing spa destination like they advertise. They need to fix their website and stop misleading people –scratch that– outright lying to people about what they offer. I am only giving two starts because of Rhonda, not because of the hotel. If it wasn’t for her, I would give the place one star due to the false claims they make about their «resort.»

Would have been five stars up to the last visit, even with a VHS player in each room. This writer has in the past enjoyed the largish rooms with fifties kitchenettes and spacious bathrooms. Not this time. Four of us were crammed into a small room at the end of the row with a bathroom the size of a closet. When we requested to be moved we were met with total indifference.
The female owner/​manager of this motel might want to consider a career change because she tried to blame this writer for not getting a better room. «Well, did you ask for a better room when you booked» answer: «no, because all the rooms are priced the same so how would anyone know?» Yes, the customer is always wrong.
A word to the wise. Groupon was/​is offering deals on some of the luxury resorts/​hotels in the area for almost the same price as this writer payed for his recent stay.
By the way, the fan under the gazebo doesn’t work.
