Got your shallow apology directing me to other reviews. Well Karyn G isn’t happy at all. It’s systemic in the healthcare industry your customers are called patients AKAHOSTAGES if you are a prospective customer do yourself a favor try somewhere else.

«Focus on you», seems more like focus on them. I freely chose originally to get single vision lenses but was told that if I was in any way unhappy that I could return and change to a progressive bifocal prescription. Little did I realize that my exam from 1 month before wasn’t adequate to upgrade without a second appointment from the Dr. Also, the upsold special non reflective $ 100 coating that I «should try» was non reimbursable as well. A bad $ 500 mistake. By the way, if you are Medicare eligible you will need to file your own claims for your exam and glasses. Dr. Spiegel was quite competent but poorly represented by his optician. I would stay away unless you want to pay maximum price with minimal appointment flexibility.

What a Scam! Is this really a doctors office… minimal hours, seems like it is closed every other week and hours are scattered even when open. And the doctor’s exam? Since when does that not cover total vision, doesn’t a prescription include all aspects of near and close vision? We were lead to believe that eye glass prescriptions were guaranteed, if we weren’t happy, lenses would be replaced, but then we found out we didn’t get the prescription to change from single vision to bifocal vision! My husband, as a health care provider, would never treat patients in this manner. Dr Spiegel seemed attentive, but the optician was way more interested in upgrading our lenses than in meeting our needs. We won’t be returning.

I was referred here from our Pediatrician after getting a routine eye exam. Called, made the appt, faxed over the referral documents and showed up 15 min early to fill out any paperwork. After standing at the counter for 10 min while the receptionist was taking phone calls &3 people behind me waiting, we finally got the paperwork to fill out. I was called up to counter and asked what my daughter was here for… duh!!! I told her referral from Pediatrician. She then asked if my daughter needed glasses. I looked at her and said… I have no idea, I’m not a doctor! Good grief!!! This place is so unorganized!!! So she said I’ll charge you upfront for the $ 332.00 fee now and if she needs glasses it will be an additional charge. It’s now 10:40, our appt was at 10, and we’re still sitting here waiting(not to mention that we got here at 9:45). Honestly, I would consider training my front office staff better, or provide more support so it’s not so dysfunctional & unorganized. On a positive note… What saved this review from not being 1 star is Dr Spiegel is very nice and has a wonderful bedside manner! He and his Nurse/Assistant were kind and patient

We have both been seeing Dr Kirshner for several years and are extremely pleased and satisfied with she and Dr. Spiegel and their staff. We have both had cataract surgery and were very impressed with the surgical center, staff and efficiency. The results were great!

Moving from Santa Monica to the desert was a good choice. However, I chose to drive to Los Angeles to see my specialists. Of course I burned out on the driving. I had been with my opthamolgist for decades. So, I was very leery when I chose Dr’s in the desert. Having found my primary Dr. in Palm Springs, fortunately I trusted him. He referred me to Lori Kirshner. When I arrived at the office I felt relieved as I could feel the warmth and found the staff delightful. I’m a believer that it starts at the top. Staff is not as lovely if they are working for a «grouch:. Each time I have been to their offices, they were prepared and on time, which is another«plus» for me, personaly. Finally met the Dr. after my paperwork and felt even more secure. Dr. K was down to earth, had many Diplomas and Certificates, which do mean something to me. I always read them She had a good sense of humor, which made me feel welcome, and was easy to work with. She is clearly committed to helping others. In addition her work outside of the office seems very special She has a radio showabout animals and has a non profit Foundation that offers help to all. I was home and I was grateful. It would be a mistake to forget Dr. Spiegel, who is Dr,. Kirshner partner in the office. I heard great things about him, and finally met him because he measured my lens’ for my upcoming cataract surgery. We all know that this isn’t important, but Dr. Spiegel is very handsome and was very charming. One more reason that the staff is so kind. Just prior to the surgery I felt completely confident because I trusted Dr. Kirshner Surgery was easy, efficient, and there was no pain, at all. It was done at the Surgical Center at Desert Regional. Again staff was great. I’m aghast at the changes in my sight with my new lense. Next week I am having surgery on my other eye. So grateful is the word I use when telling my friends about my relationship withFocus on You, which is the name of their offices. Hopefully, I will help someone to seek them out.

We needed to see an Ophthalmologist for our daughter in a hurry. I don’t know how these guys fitted us in — well I do, they worked through their lunch hour for us. Couldn’t be more appreciative and pleased. Dr. Spiegel«hit the ground running» … took her through the magical/gadgetry that is a ophthalmologist practice — even had some cool remote controlled testing equipment. Got us an immediate solution and a followup within two weeks. No hesitation about recommending them, and will be a regular patent from now now.

There truly aren’t enough wonderful and praiseworthy words to describe Dr. Spiegel, Bettina and the rest of the staff at this office! The office is bright, clean and shows the pride they take in patient care from the moment you enter. We have been fortunate enough to have had our daughters eyes taken care of here for the last five years with hopefully many years to come. We are never rushed, always greeted in a friendly, professional manner and the knowledge and care given by Dr. Spiegel and his staff is hands down the best I’ve ever seen in the healthcare field. Dr. Spiegel truly cares about his patients and how they are able to function to the best of their ability out in society. His knowledge on our daughters eye disease is just one example of his continuing quest for knowledge in his field. I’ve been to more doctors than I can count who where unfamiliar with the disease. When she cannot read a line on the chart, there is never a negative comment making her feel like she failed, only positivity and optimism that comes from a Dr. and assistant that clearly loves their profession. I also want to thank Bettina for her extraordinary treatment, patience and kindness when my daughter got her first pair of glasses. She left the office with such confidence and joy at a moment that could have been rather upsetting and cause for self consciousness. She loves her glasses so much that after five years, yes, FIVE years, she still wears them!

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Spiegel for eight years. We feel he is the«BEST» pediatric opthomolgist in the desert! We feel he is never rushed with us and he always takes time to listen. The office staff is wonderful too!

I was appalled at the indifference I was met with at this office. I’m a young woman who suffered sudden blindness in one eye. There’s a possibility I have MS. That’s all Dr. Spiegel said. No explanations about the disease, no offering of where I might go to find support or ongoing care, what I should do next – nothing. I had to call incessantly to get instructions on what to do next and get things scheduled with other specialists. And when results were finally available from my MRI and bloodwork, they never called. I had to call for weeks and beg for my results! With the exception of two staffers, everyone is either rude or indifferent. I cancelled my follow-up appointment because there is no value to the services here. They could at least PRETEND to care for the patients – hello! I’m starting all over with a new specialist in Redlands – an hour from my home, because I deserve better. I’m not an indigent – I PAY for my care!

I was very happy with the this practice. The staff was polite and efficient, and Dr. Spiegel had a very good bedside manner when he examined our two month old son.
