McWherter Window Coverings

We picked Gary and McWherter to install our blinds in SF. Gary is a true professional from start to finish. He is a master of his trade, is courteous and willing to work with you. The devil is always in the details and Gary passed every litmus test prior to selection. I received two price quotes. The first was twice as much for a more upscale version of the same blinds. When I probed the vendor, his choice offered no overlay value whatsoever. He still proceeded to send me a quote, however at that point there was no looking back. The installation was done within the estimated time-​line, the job was neat and the blinds look beautiful.
I found McWherter on Unilocal and called because of their good reviews. My experience is that’s not always the case. However it is true with Gary and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Gary McWherter just installed amazing Hunter Douglas shades in all of the upstairs of our house. Gary was amazing to deal with… coming by with a variety of samples, deep product knowledge, and lots of experience working with Pacifica homes. He took measurements and we picked out the styles/​colors we wanted. Gary went home and did his homework and realized the models we wanted would fit, but it would be crowded. He called and came back over with new samples and ultimately down sold me on a less expensive version that fit better with our hard to accurate windows. I really appreciated his attention to detail along with his desire to get the right blinds installed. When the blinds arrived, he installed them and set up the electronics quickly and easily. Everything looks amazing. We are planning to use Gary to do all of the downstairs windows as soon as possible. The Hunter Douglas blinds are fantastic products (we went with a mx of motorized and manual), but we would have never had the perfect models and precision installation without Gary’s professional assistance. He is just great to work with and we look forward to working whit him again. Can’t recommend McWherter Window Coverings enough!

«Spectacular» is the only way to describe this business. The owner, Gary and his team are professional, imaginative and prompt!!! The installed a house full of difficult windows for me — and made the shutters looks as thought they were deliberate decorative elements of the home.

Gary was excellent to work with. He responded quickly, came out and took the measurements in the rooms that required window dressings, made sure I understood the different options, placed the orders, and installed everything. He kept me in the loop throughout the process, and made sure I was happy with the final product. Gary is a perfectionist and we are very happy with the end result. I needed window coverings for seven windows in our home. Reached out to McWherter Window Coverings and Gary came to perform measurements and gave us an estimate on the same day. I had several estimates done but preferred to deal with Gary, he’s very kind person and super nice to talk to, professional, quickly responds to all correspondences, and extremely patient while we were making our selections. The order took two weeks to arrive, and we scheduled an installation right after. Gary and Tyler came to perform the install, they were quick and efficient getting the coverings on the windows. The product looks great: sharp and uplifting for the room. We choose the Hunter Douglas Duette LiteRise Top-​Down/​Bottom-​Up double honeycomb shades. The quality feels solid and comes with good warranty. It was great doing business with Gary, and should I require further additions in our home I’ll definitely be giving him a call.

I looked on Unilocal to find help with window shades and was impressed with all the 5 star reviews for McWherter Window Coverings. I called Gary and he responded quickly and arranged to come to my home. He brought samples and gave suggestions for different treatments. There was no pressure to buy the most expensive or to buy more than I wanted. The shades were ordered and today they were installed by Gary and his son Tyler. I love the way they look. I love the way they were installed and how all traces of installation are gone. They even asked if I would like them to dispose of old blinds. Now I agree…5 stars!

We had Gary install shutters (windows & patio doors) on the east side of our house several years ago. We were very happy with his workmanship so we had him return & complete the shutter installation on the rest of our house. Gary is very timely and courteous. We would highly recommend him.

My mom had ordered me some really nice Hunter Douglas Roman Shades and when I received them I couldn’t wait so I tried installing them myself. I ran into a few issues and decided to find someone in the area to help me out. I google searched and didn’t really find anything. I found out about Gary through Unilocal with 1 review and thought I would give them a call. I spoke with Gary and gave him all the info, he gave me a quote and said it would be no problem. He sent over his son the next day and about an hour and fifteen minutes later it was about 20 degrees cooler and looked amazing! I may have only used them for installation, but I would definitely recommend them! You have to love the small family businesses!

Gary and his son came out to measure our windows as part of our purchase from Lowes — they are an authorized contractor. The first contractor that Lowes referred me to was very difficult to work with, only available on certain days/​hours that didn’t work for me. So when I called Lowes back to ask for someone else, they luckily referred me to Gary, who owns McWherter Window Coverings. Had I known how professional they were, I probably would have gone right with McWherter Window Coverings to order the blinds! They were professional, courteous, super fast, on time, and very easy to work with! I will definitely be calling McWherter when we’re ready to purchase blinds/​shades for the rest of our home.

I was new to the experience of buying blinds for my condo. Gary McWherter was a tremendous help. Helping me choose an energy efficient and good looking design.
