Loews Royal Pacific Resort

This hotel is beautiful with very friendly staff. Boats to parks was a perk. The rooms are modern but are not as clean as I would like. We had coffee dried on our counters and a giant hair ball on the bathroom floor upon arrival. Cleaning of the room was not completed by 4pm just when we came back from a long day at the parks. We loved the atmosphere at the pool but the pool was older and choppy so hard to keep an eye on kids. Food was ridiculously priced for the quality. We visited the Hardrock hotel pool while here. It was a beautiful pool and you could see your kids from any angle. engaging kids activities with live interactive DJ.

I’ve stayed here twice — both times because my family had a 2-​day park-​to-​park pass for Universal. Both times were highly successful.
The staff was very attentive, answering any questions we had. We asked for a room on a high floor with a view of the park when we arrived — and simply got one on the top floor as close to the park as possible.
Each time, our rooms were clean, spacious, with a refrigerator to store things. There aren’t microwaves in the rooms, but there’s one easily accessible in the area where breakfast is made available.
A big advantage of staying here, of course, is that you get the «skip the lines» pass for all but the 2 main Harry Potter virtual rides. Along with that, you get in an hour early — to the Hogsmeade section of Harry Potter. For visits in June, this meant a 5 minute wait instead of the 60 minute wait an hour later when the park opened. Another advantage is that on day 2, we came back, had dinner, and then went back to the park afterwards (refreshed after an air-​conditioned stint) and stayed until close.
We had dinner here both nights; once in the main Islands Dining Room (overlooked by large, fake frogs) and the other in «Jake’s», a more causal place. Service was quick, attentive, and the food was solid.

Overall a nice hotel and would definitely stay here again. It is one of the premiums hotels on the Universal Property and rates are obviously higher than surrounding hotels but the convince of the location and the express passes you get as being a guest if you are visiting the parks are soooo worth it.
The hotel itself has a nice South Pacific feel, with a great pool area and several restaurants on property. You can also water taxi over or all over to City Walk where theres a lot to do, restaurants, bars, clubs, movie theater, and plenty of shopping. The rooms have been recently renovated and are very nicely done with a 45″ flat screen tv, new carpet, and bedding. The comfort of the beds are above average, and the room sizes are roughly 400 sf.
The only negative was the noise in the hallways can be easily heard in the rooms.

I chose to stay here while planning a visit to Universal Studios because of the included early park admission and included Express Pass. Once you decide you need an express pass, for a family of four, that is a significant price and it effectively reduces the cost of the room. The other value is being close and using the water taxi service, we could leave the park once the crowds became larger and the midday temps were too high.
We planned our days by going to the water taxi by 7:30am and we were at the park when it opened at 8:00am. Making sure to do the Harry Potter stuff that was open the first hour, we then went on some potentially long line rides at 9:00am when they opened… but there were no crowds yet. By 10:00am, the place was packed and by 10:30 — 11:00am, we headed to lunch at the City Walk and then back to the hotel for a cool stay in the room. Then back to the park around 4:30 and we could see the crowds leaving and the temps were cooler. This was not a hectic way to see the parks… and we did most of Univeral and Islands of Adventure in two days like this. I think if you went on a non-​crowded day and pushed… you could ride almost everything in one day.
Back to the hotel… the lobby area is quite nice. Service was top notch. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Room was good, not really totally luxurious, but spacious and clean and it worked well.
The pool area was fun for the kids, but a bit too crowded for me. The «beach» area is silly as you can not swim in the fresh water there, but you can play volleyball on the beach.
The water taxis sometimes required a wait and if you go past 7:30am to 8:00am there might be long lines. The captains were all friendly and it is a relaxing way to go. Walking the path instead is only a 15 minute walk, we did it a couple times… but you want to save your energy for the park. We walked 9.1 miles in one day.
The only negative is a not really a resort thing, but more an Orlando thing. Everything is expensive and it all adds up to a pricey vacation. But again, once you decide to do Universal Stuidos, I think the Pacific Resort is a great option.

At first I was a bit skeptical about the value of staying at an onsite resort for our Universal Studios vacation. Loews Royal Pacific Resort really surprised me, in a good way.
Yes, as a Premium level resort, it does include free Unlimited Universal Express passes which allow you to skip the regular lines at most rides and significantly decrease your wait times. That’s definitely a bonus (although I’m sure it’s figured into the room costs somehow-​still slightly skeptical? hehe).
Beyond that, this place is just incredible and has a real Zen vibe to it. You really feel like you’re in the South Pacific when you enter the hotel.
A gym, a pool with a really cool kid’s area (looks like a ship), an arcade, a spa, concierge, on site restaurants like Emeril’s Tchoup Shop. The best part was the water taxi that takes you from the hotel to the theme park. Love, love, love it!
Beautiful modern rooms. Oh and that shower — holy crap — that shower– jets, sprays, hand wand, oh my. I’m a quick shower kind of guy but this one — at least 20 minutes each time — the shower alone is five stars — hehe.
I did choose not to eat at any of the onsite restaurants, partly due to costs and partly due to not so hot Unilocal reviews. There’s plenty of meal choices around — just Unilocal them! FYI — Some places will deliver to your lobby but the resort prohibits delivery to rooms.
Great oasis to crash in after long days of theme park walking! Convenient, comfy and worth it!

I’ve been coming to the Royal Pacific since my kids were just 5. They are 13 and 11 eleven now. So you calculate at least 3 times a year since 2007.
This is the best on site hotel in Universal. I can say that since I’ve stayed at the Portofino (overpriced) and the Hard Rock (not worth it).
The minute you valet park your car and step into the entry way you feel like your at an island somewhere. The lobby is decorated with tons of beautiful orchids. Checking in had always been a breeze.
The onsite restaurants are a bit pricey but the food is worth it. The buffet breakfast is perfect to get you started for your long days in the parks.
Service is excellent. We got 10% discount because our wait was longer than expected because I ordered hard boiled eggs a la carte.
The best part of staying at the onsite hotel is your room key which acts as a fast pass in both Universal and Islands of Adventure. Make sure you activate and print out your fast pass in the kiosk by the concierge. This benefit in itself is worth the stay. When visiting with two kids in 90 degree weather, the last thing you want is to wait 90 minutes for a ride. With the fast pass maximum 30 minutes we’ve waited.
Another plus is that they have a boat that takes you right to City Walk and you could walk straight to the park and avoid the parking mission. If you’d rather walk from the hotel it’s about an 8 minute walk right to the front of the park.
Not much to say about the rooms other than that they are spacious and clean. The beds are extremely comfortable and the pillows are amazing! After 8 hours in the parks theres nothing like showering and relaxing in the room. The pool area is lots of fun and there are life guards on duty.
I’ve always stayed here and will continue to book my stays here.

The check was flawless. Bellmen were waiting for us when we pulled up. The front desk clerks were friendly and efficient. The rooms for spotless. Room service was quick and the front desk answered their phone immediately. We received express passes to the parks for staying with them and the kiosk was easy to use and there was staff to help you through the process. The walk to universal was nice and there is a constant running boat to take you to the parks also. The pool was my favorite. Very beautiful set up and they had poolside waiters to bring you drinks and food.

Visited for a business conference. The view is amazing and the decorations are gorgeous inside!

I truly enjoyed my stay there, overall most staff members were super friendly. Although I do have to say that the front desk needs a bit of work as they are not as attentive and kind as they should be, especially to first time guest.
The room was a decent size, it looked newly remodeled with the pretty purple flower wall paper. Shower was clean and contemporary, nice design. but needed more room for the toilet area. One complaint would be the sliding door leading to the shower/​toilet area… the sliding door jammed my fingers not once but twice. Be Careful when closing that siding door, you will be bruised.
The pool area was wonderful and relaxing, very spacious for everyone to have personal space to enjoy the sun and water. Great for families!
The breakfast at the in-​house restaurant was great and our server was very kind an attentive. Eggs were soft and fluffy, I think it was noted that they used farm fresh eggs. (But I’m not 100% positive-​so you should ask about that)
The water taxi was awesome, the captains were all so friendly and funny. They made the ride over to citywalk very memorable (would recommend if you want to relax and enjoy the scenery).

Beautiful, lush greenery surround this pet-​friendly hotel. Very convenient access to Universal Studios (including Coty Walk and Islands of Adventure) — walking along the Garden Path, taking a shuttle bus or the water taxi. Has a very large pool, lots of restaurants and gift shops. Gym is a decent size as well with great equipment. Best part is the express pass to get on rides at the park.

Beautiful hotel, amazing décor… Love the service and the rooms… Very close to parks and well transported by water taxis free of charge courtesy of the hotel with the express passes just a great add on for free… Everyone very courteous and friendly… High quality of restaurant on site, gym, pool, lagoon… A heavenly destination to relax and also enjoy the parks. I went to Island of Adventure and Universal Studios and the convenience of going and coming was such a nice experience…

This is a very nice place, very clean and up to date. This has any Disney resort beat, the attention to detail is on point. Ac works great and room service don’t play around. Super easy location to the park. Worth the extra money

Let’s just get to the heart of it. If this were not a conference, I would leave. No healthy options on the grab n go (yogurt with granola is not healthy, if you are watching sugar). Buffet not open early. Fitness center not 24 hours. Paper thin walls. Front desk staff less than interested in checking anyone in.
Good hairdryer though, which is why it is 2 stars instead of 1.

Please, my brothers and sisters …
… save yourself some trouble and stay here. You are a brief walk (no Nimbus2000 needed) to City Walk where there are a ton of great places to eat. You are about a 10 minute walk to the FRONT GATES of Universal Studios.

I recently stayed here for a business event. It’s a pretty huge hotel practically inside the Universal park. I stayed here for four nights in tower 1…
THE GOOD…
–check in was easy
–hotel was clean
–cleaning maids did a nice job
–hotel staff was pretty friendly
–food served was ok, especially the flourless chocolate mini cake
–accommodated diet requests
–a 10 min walk to City Walk & Universal
–gym room was surprisingly a decent substitute for my actual gym (lots of cardio machines, free weights, machines, medicine balls and more)
–pool/​lagoon area looked nice
–room was clean
–shower pressure was good
–internet connection was pretty reliable and I rarely experienced buffering with the complimentary service
–mini fridge in room
–tv had fair amount of channels
–ballrooms events were held in seemed perfect for the event I was attending
–although I never took it, there is a complimentary water taxi
–lots of outlets in the room, including usb
–reasonable to walk to bus station area
–reasonable über ride into the city
THE BAD…
–tv picture was a bit dim, couldn’t change brightness
–was given a handicap shower
–bed was extremely uncomfortable… felt springs in my back and never truly got a goodnight’s rest
–ballroom and event chairs were very uncomfortable
–there should be designated smoking areas away from high traffic walkways (I smelled cigarette smoke every time I walked outside)
–thermostat would only go to 65°…definitely didn’t feel as cool as it should have
–was given two double full standard size beds when I requested a king or queen
-$ 8 for a bottle of Fiji water in the room… Yeah ok
Overall, this resort hotel was a respectable location for such a big company event. They definitely have the space and man power for them.
Definitely not a four or five star hotel. It’s very convenient if Universal is your destination. Based upon my stay and experience a feel three stars is fair.

This is a beautiful resort. Very welcoming staff and great amenities. We were greeted upon arrival at valet and were given Leis. Check In was easy even though we arrived around 10 am and our rooms weren’t ready yet. They were able to store our belongings and we headed out to greet our guide for the VIP experience at both parks. There is a water taxi back and forth to City Walk as well as to the entrance to the Universal theme parks. You can also take a nice scenic stroll back to the resort from City Walk too. Great location when visiting Universal. The rooms were very modern and I loved the décor on the walls. In my room there was a lovely pink orchid painted on the wall above the bed. Beds were super soft and comfortable. Was here only one night while visiting both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Definitely want to come back here the next time I visit Universal. :)

I can’t believe I didn’t rate this place last year — after our first visit. The location cannot be beat. The accommodations are very comfortable and the hotel itself is really attractive, well maintained and staffed. The easy walk or boat ride to and from the park is the main selling point– as is the Express pass access and early entry into Universal in the morning.
We are on our way back for a second visit in a few days and I hope the experience is good enough to merit an extra star!

At first glance I thought, um they’re not going to let me in here. It was so fancy!
The décor is amazing and I felt like I was swept away to a Polynesian island. I loved it!
The restaurants in the hotel were great, the beds were fluffy and real comfortable and the bathrooms were really clean. There wasn’t anything about this hotel I didn’t love. Plus we got Front of the line passes for Universal Studio for free with our room which means we didn’t wait in line for anything and rode every ride three times. And spent most of our trip in Harry Potterland. The staff was really nice and helpful. I only wish we would have done the luau at night but I wanted to stay near Hogwarts at night. Yea. I’m a geek. It’s ok.
We loved taking to boat the Universal in the morning and spending time at Citywalk. This hotel was worth every penny we paid for our trip, which wasn’t too many ;)

My hubby and I booked a Harry Potter package and we chose to stay here since we got so many other perks weigh staying here.
The staff as super friendly, the lobby was nice and open, and our room was ready when we arrived. Also. It was super easy to pick up all of our passes at the kiosk downstairs.
When we went to our room, it s very clean and comfortable. Our room was right above the pool and surprisedly the noise did not bother us one bit. Speaking of the pool, great pool area. They had towels, sunscreen, water available for you. We stopped by at. Isn’t and they were playing a move out near the lounge chairs.
We say a really nice gym but didn’t think to bring our gym clothes. Lol. But again, it looked really nice from the outside looking in.
There’s a small arcade on premise and we checked it out. There’s a handful of games to play.
I think the best perk of all, direct access to Universal/​Adventure Island and The City Walk. There is also a water taxis that comes by every 15 mins to take you to City Walk. It’s sometimes nice to walk to City Walk, but it’s about a 15 min walk and after spending the entire day at the parks, you just want to sit your butt down.
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

Looks can be deceiving though. Sure, you’re paying high dollar to stay here. It’s clean. The staff is generally friendly. Good stuff, yup.
The walls are so thin that you can hear the neighboring room’s occupants talking, in the bathroom, watching TV… If they’re doing it, you’re hearing it.
Housekeeping comes early, I suggest putting your Do Not Disturb sign out.
The water taxi is SUPER convenient and useful. You can have anything you buy in the parks sent back to the hotel, which is also useful.
All in all… i really can’t say that this place should get more than 3 stars. There was nothing special or high end about it. Our pillows were flat and uncomfortable, and we didnt get a single good night’s sleep out of the 4 nights we stayed.
