V & U Towing Service

Excellent! We called about 10 places, literately! They did what they said and were there exactly at the time they said. We even got a fair reasonable rate from Orinda to Berkeley, much much lower than ALL the rest of the people we called that tried charging $ 100 – 200 more. The technician was very courteous and professional. I had a broken axle, not an easy thing to hitch and load.
Please use them, can’t recommend any better!

Worst service ever. It took this company 6 hours to tow my truck. The owner would not give an update on eta to me, the repair shop, or my insurance company. Horrible customer service. I understand complications, that’s fine. If they would have informed me of the issues I would completely understand, but they would not answer or return my phone calls the entire day. They were completely unprofessional. I wouldn’t even give it one star if that was an option.

Big or small they tow them all!!! Our family has used them multiple times, always quick and dependable!

My boy that owns a local shop Absolute Truck and Body recommended this tow company to me about 5 years or so ago because I’m a picky person who likes to request the type of tow I need because some of my vehicles have suspension/​rim and tire, and some are just work trucks. They pretty much can tow anything, weather you have a high end ride and need a flat bed, or if you just have a regular work truck, they can tow whatever, and give you a good price. I have never been left waiting more then 45 min, even when I was in Palo Alto one day. With well over 20 tows from these guys, I wouldn’t recommend anyone else for a better service or deal in town.

Terrible, terrible, terrible customer service.
Called at 12:30, and was promised service by 1:30pm. I call them around 1:35 asking where the truck is, and am told it will be another hour until the driver is here, as he has «a leak in one of his tires». I ask when they found this out, and they said «oh, about 45 minutes ago». When asked «why ddidn’t you call me?» they had no answer and told me to call another company. So I did. Never again.

My car overheated and I needed a flatbed to tow my rear wheel drive from Castro Valley to San Mateo. Very polite man took my information and said he’d be there in 40 mins. Quoted me an extremely reasonable price of $ 120. He arrived about 10 mins late, apologizing for it which was fine since I was happy he arrived within the hour. (Plus you never know with Bay Area traffic). He said I could wait in the truck while he pulled the car up since it was windy; inside the truck was really clean.
Overall, my experience with them was awesome! I highly recommend them and would call again if I need a tow in East Bay.

i have to tow my ugly 97Honda accord from an freeway off ramp off 880, v & u is the cheapest around after calling few places and they got to me within 20min. great service great price.

Do not deal with buying cars from this company. Very crooked and sells you vehicles with major problems. As for towing, I cannot speak of their service but for buying any of their vehicles listed for sale, check them out fully before you buy because you WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK FROM A LEMMON THEY SELL YOU… BUYER BEWARE! Victor is one a – hole and crooked sales person.

I manage a loft building in Oakland and i can tell you that it is really hard to find a dependable tow company. well until i found V & U that is– Victor and his crew are always just a phone call away. I have had to call them in the middle of the night and they are very responsive.
I finally decided to use then 100% as the buildings tow company. I called Victor up and he came over with custom signs so that tenants and visitors would know the no parking zones.
Awesome company and i’m very glad i found this type of quality service in oakland.

After calling some other company, I had made an appointment with them for next day towing job to the next city), and when the scheduled time came, I received a call telling me that it would at least be another hour before they show! I couldn’t wait that long at all.
And then I found this company. There are a few reasons why I am so elated with this spot:
1. They told me that they would be there in thirty minutes, and they were there in seventeen.
2. They were way cheaper than the last place that quoted me.
3. The man that arrived with the truck was very friendly and helpful.
Not realizing that my trucks battery was dead and that I had to push the truck out of my underground garage, he seemed very patient and understanding of the situation.
All in all, this place rocked. I called, they came, the dropped her off, I paid, and all is well.
If needed, I will use them again in the future and recommend to all.

My car broke down in Uptown Oakland. My roadside service said V&U gave a 30 minutes ETA. These guys were quick and on-​time. Exactly 31 minutes from the time I answered the call — cell phone log. They had a flat bed truck — as I requested — and my Suburban was loaded and secured in a matter of a few minutes.
I’d say it took a little over an hour — from the moment I called my roadside service to dropping off the Suburban at the garage.
Fast, friendly, and reliable!

My sister stupidly went here to buy a car, and alone. Victor sold her a car with a well writ out «as-​is» agreement. He told her that the only thing wrong with the car was the battery. A few hours upon leaving, the car completely broke down, after violently backfiring. I can assure you it was not the battery. I called him and asked him if he would be so kind to let us return or exchange the car, as she hadn’t even had it for 24 hours yet. He told me that she was «stuck with it,» along with an argument and then handed the phone over to a woman who claimed to be the shop manager. The woman, in between arguing with me, stated that the document/​agreement was so well wrote out that there was nothing we, my sister and I, would be able to do and that that same agreement/​document had held up in court plenty of times before. I begged that if they were not just trying to scam my teenage sister, they would let us return the car given she had owned it for less than 24 hours and had incurred no damages, she had even filled the tank. Mind you this is her graduation day, my mom gave her money to buy a car. Oh, let me not forget the most important part… She bought the car for $ 800, she had a $ 1400 budget. Victor put on the agreement that the car was purchased for $ 200, at the time telling her that it would save her having to pay as much taxes on the car at the DMV! Now I know that her stupidity and naïve got her into the situation but someone who scams people is not okay with me. I don’t know what to do… All I could think was to Unilocal him.

I found myself with a busted car in downtown Oakland late on a Sunday night. The first tow place I called had me on hold for 10 minutes, so I hung up and called V&U. They picked up, were friendly and had a truck out to me within 30 minutes. The driver was a very friendly guy, towed my vehicle safely and effortlessly guided it into the parking space right in front of my house, despite the narrow street. Mad ninja towing skills!
