My prices are very reasonable due to low overhead.

We finish jobs with less waiting time than most other restorers, due to a team of craftspeople we can call on, if necessary.

We work on antique and newer hand woven pieces from Iran, Turkey, Caucasus, Turkmenistan, Egypt, China, India, Tibet, Europe, the Americas and other countries.

I match the original with naturally dyed yarns, some hand spun, using the traditional techniques.

Services offered are edge binding, end stopping, re-​fringing, reweaving of holes, bites and tears, re-​knotting of worn areas, securing weak areas, re-​dying, backing of fragile pieces with fabric, attaching sleeves and others.

If your rug is very large and difficult to move, we can work on your premises.

We suggest a variety of possible strategies for each rug. We work to meet your expectation in terms of technique, cost and time frame.

History

Established in 2000.

From 1979 until 1999, I worked for several well known antique carpet stores in the Bay Area and Europe, heading their restoration departments, restoring beautiful collectors pieces and handmade carpets from the Middle East and elsewhere, dying my own yarns with natural dyes.

In 2000 I established my own business in Oakland, Flying Carpet Restoration Service.
