Professional Double Bass player who performs, teaches and arranges music in the San Francisco Bay Area. Students range from middle school age to adult who are interested in learning the bass or improving their instrumental skills.

Previous students have won auditions into the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, Oakland Youth Orchestra, Golden Gate Philharmonic and San Jose Youth Orchestra.

Mr. Cohen, a San Francisco native offers many styles and techniques to help develop your desires and love to playing the double bass.

History

Established in 2003.

As a San Francisco Native, I went Herbert Hoover Middle School, and taught there when I was attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I also was a double bass sectional coach at A.P. Gianini Middle School.

Over the last decade, I’ve helped my double bass students win the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra auditions.

One of my students got a chance to perform side-​by-​side in the Mendocino Music Festival Bass section.

Many of my students have won auditions into the School of the Arts High School and Golden Gate Philharmonic.

I’ve been performing around the SF Bay Area since 2003. Berkeley Symphony, Modesto Symphony, Symphony Napa Valley, Mendocino Music Festival, Merced Symphony and Santa Cruz Symphony are my contracted orchestras.
