Private music lessons in cello for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students of all ages. Instruction for music theory, aural skills, keyboard skills, sight-​singing and improvisation are also available. I teach from my private studio located in Lake Merritt, Oakland, or in student residences, when possible.

History

Established in 2002.

I’ve been teaching privately for nine-​years. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York, College at Fredonia in performance with a background in music education and a graduate degree in performance from The Hartt School at the University of Hartford. I’ve been employed at ‘Music and Arts’, where I taught a studio of 10 for several years before beginning my private studio. I teach from method, étude and scale books used at local schools and aim to prepare students for youth orchestra auditions, as well as standard repertoire for our semi-​annual studio recital. I also work with adult-​beginners, to provide a starting point for music exploration on the cello. Please, feel free to contact me for more information!
