BA House Cleaning

POOR COMMUNICATION!
We have used this company once before and they did a good job. Getting them to come to our home again has been quite a task!
They claim that they only service our area once a month, but have failed to inform us of those days. If that weren’t enough, getting a response in any form from the owner is next to impossible. When we finally got a response offering an appointment, there was no follow through on the owners end.
Two emails and two phone calls over a 24 hour period with zero response, just to get an appointment confirmation is ridiculous!!! We will not be using this company again. It’s unprofessional to keep the customer waiting with no response.

We have now used BA house cleaning for 4 months and could not be more impressed. Team 2 is friendly and prompt, always showing up during their scheduled window. They are thorough (I didn’t know our tub is still that white!) and great at following directions– our desk, for instance, is a mess but there is a method to the madness and they are great at leaving things in place there while cleaning around it. They are also fantastic with our cat.
I would recommend BA House Cleaning without hesitation. The price is fixed so, depending on our needs each month, Team 2 sometimes stays longer or may finish a little early without any changes in cost.

It’s been two weeks since BA House Cleaning came to clean my house and I am still marveling at how great of a job they did! Three women came out and they finished the job in about 2.5 hours. The floors were immaculate (vacuumed and mopped), the baseboards were dusted, all the blinds were clean, the bathrooms were spotless (this is my favorite part!) and it seems like they dusted everything. Our house was quite dusty before. Also appreciated them getting all the cobwebs in the corners and ceilings that are hard to reach.
The booking process is really convenient because you can see their availability online and they do not require an in person quote which is nice so that you don’t have to hold time on your calendar for a quote and then a cleaning.
You’re presented with a written invoice and an envelope to place your payment inside. Cash payment for first time customers.
I will definitely book them again in the future!

Anita is incredibly helpful — wonderful customer service! We had two ladies come and clean over a 2 ½ hour period while I worked. Blanca and Blanca were friendly, efficient, and thorough. I should also mention they arrived between the time span Anita had given me — something I do appreciate always! I also like the final touch of a follow up from Anita (President) to see how the cleaning went. Nice touch!

I had two lovely women on Team 3 come out and clean my apartment.
Online scheduling was very convenient. They showed up right on time and did a fantastic job.
The only thing I don’t love is the price! I ended up paying $ 165 for the two of them to be here for an hour (my 1BR 1BA apartment is in pretty clean condition to begin with.) They did great work, but I don’t think I will have them come out again because of the price. The invoice process is also a little confusing. My original estimate was for $ 165, but in the invoice I was sent from Anita via email, the cleaning was «paid in full» after the portion I paid through Paypal during booking ($ 50). The girls gave me a new invoice for $ 165, minus what I had already paid, when they arrived. Luckily I had cash on hand, since new customers must pay cash (which I was aware, thankfully.) I just wasn’t expecting to pay quite that much! I wish I had seen that $ 165 amount again after my original reservation estimate, since the only amount I saw after Anita asked me some additional questions about the job was the $ 50 online booking portion.
Overall though, very satisfied! Will consider using them again when I move out!

I’m so pleased with my first experience with a cleaning service! I got a quote on Monday a couple hours after making an online inquiry, and the cleaners were there the very next day. They did a quick and thorough job bringing my condo back to move-​in ready condition. Would highly recommend them to anyone! Communication was great, and though the price was higher than I expected, it was worth it.

I had an unfortunate experience recently with BA House Cleaning that I thought other Unilocalers should know about. I’ve been using BA House Cleaning for about a year now, and the house cleaning has always been pretty good. The problem came last week when one of the cleaners used my personal (and work) computer to plug in and charge her iPhone while cleaning the house. We have plugs and chargers everywhere in our home, and I would have been okay with her using one of those. Using my computer, which has tons of personal and work data on it, though, is not okay. Worse, she accidentally authorized the computer to upload thousands of photos and videos from her phone to my personal Dropbox. They were still uploading when I got home, which is how I found out she had used the computer in the first place. While I don’t think this was malicious, it left me feeling shaken and super uncomfortable.
I immediately called the owner, Anita, and she was concerned and receptive. She agreed to restore the cleaner’s phone back to factory settings to ensure no info was taken from my computer. Anita handled the situation as well as she could have, but I won’t be using them again.

Okay, don’t let the 4 star review fool you. I absolutely 100% recommend BA House Cleaning. My experience was closer to a 4.25 star experience, but after carefully considering all the points, I can’t give them 5 stars. Let me break it down.
1. They have online scheduling!!! I can’t express how simple this made the entire process. I tried to set up cleaning appointments at 2 places prior and never had my calls returned. After stumbling upon BA House Cleaning, I was able to set up an appointment online for 2 days later, which they called, confirmed, and discussed what services I was interested in. So easy!
2. The vast majority of my apartment was only mildly dirty, but the common bathroom had dealt with 4 years of abuse from a roommate who refused to clean it. We’re talking soap scum build up that I couldn’t be conquered with modern weaponry. And the toilet… *shudder*. It took one of the cleaners the full hour and 45 minutes to clean that bathroom, and wow! I didn’t think I’d even see it so clean again. The toilet is white! Huzzah!
3. The majority of the kitchen cleaning went above and beyond what I expected. The inside of the microwave is spotless again. They even scrubbed a toaster oven that my roommate was ready to give up on. He was going to throw it out when he moved out, but now, it looks like new. BAM!
4. My appointment was at 9:45am on a Saturday. Cleaning team 2 arrived promptly at 9:47am at were scrubbing away in 2 – 3 minutes time after a quick walkthrough to identify problem areas.
Let’s get to the buts. There has to be a but if I didn’t give it 5 stars.
THE BUTS
1. I had an awesome team of three come to clean my apartment. 2 bathrooms, only 1 bedroom, the kitchen, and the living room. Added in the baseboards extra as ours were exceptionally dirty. The final bill: $ 325. With the Unilocal deal, it comes down to an even $ 300 (more with tip) but the cleaning team only took an hour and 45 minutes. That comes down to $ 60/​hour/​person which is a bit above market average. –0.25 stars
2. One of the items that I brought up on email, over the phone, and in person was the handles on the kitchen cabinet doors. They’ve acquired a layer of grime over the years and needed a good polishing. I kick myself for not noticing it during the final walkthrough. Honestly, I think I was in shock at the white toilet in the main bathroom and couldn’t see the fine details like the cabinet handles. –0.25 stars
3. Nothing is more annoying than cut corners. After the cleaners left, I jumped in the shower. After turning on the shower, hot and cold water (3 total handles) to the appropriate angles for the optimal shower experience, I realized that the bottom of all 3 handles still had soap scum on them. Ahhhhh!!! I then checked both the tub and sink faucets and lo and behold… soap scum. To a person with moderate cleaning OCD, this is the exact sort of thing that drives you INSANE! –0.25 stars
FINAL VERDICT
Lets be real here. If I get a decent rate on monthly cleaning from BA House Cleaning, I’d jump on it. If you are in the same boat I was… tired of calling cleaners and leaving messages, juggling schedules, etc., give BA a call. Just look a little closer on the final walk through then I did.

This review is longgggg overdue. I was in a crunch during the holidays and BA House Cleaning saved the day! A 3 person crew came in and did a through job! I recommend BA House cleaning to all of my friends and my clients. I love the online scheduling system that they use, makes booking very easy.

I hired BA House Cleaning for a place that we moved out of in Oakland. Their online booking and pricing is just so great. I needed it done on a short notice and was looking in the evening when a lot of cleaning companies are closed. BA House Cleaning’s website is so top notch. I was able to get the price INSTANTLY and book within 15 minutes! Just AWESOME! Oh and the results were amazing! Even my landlord made comments how great of a cleaning job they did.

Like BAhousecleaning service. BA delivered service in 2 days after I placed order. And it made my rental very clean so I rent it out in a week.

I used BA House Cleaning yesterday and am very happy with the results. My house is pretty organized but definitely needed to be cleaner. Two women came and within one hour my place looked amazing. To do what they did would have probably taken me two days! I am mystified as to how they made my stained, streaked stainless appliances shine again. The glass shower doors sparkled. They even had time to clean the much spotted wooden floors. Wow. I have to watch next time and learn some of their tricks.

I used BA House Cleaning for over a year. It was such a relief to come home to a clean, sparkling house after a long day of work. After months of struggling to clean with a full time job and infant son, BA saved the day. They are professional, hard working, reasonably priced, and easy to get in touch with! They also did a move out clean for me when I left CA, and I got my whole deposit back! Thank you BA team!

Easy booking, showed up on time, did a better than expected job. I am a happy Customer.

I live with two men and three male pets. My days are getting longer and longer at school and my house is suffering for it. NO MORE. BA House Cleaners arrived this morning (15 minutes early!) and transformed our home into a sparkling masterpiece. You cannot even tell men and pets live here, let alone that we were living in squalor before these ladies arrived. My family arrives in three days for vacation and they will be impressed.
From booking over the phone to getting a quote for carpet cleaning, everything was extremely easy. The carpet cleaner guy came separately and did a wonderful job. Again, pet puke and accidents are a thing of the past. If it weren’t for the fat cat pouting in the hallway, you would never know this home had pets. My boyfriend agrees, we will make this a regular service.
Also a plus, the ladies were REALLY pet friendly. They didn’t mind my dog trying to help (aka, getting in the way) and they thought my little cat was cute. I can’t say enough good things about this company. Thank you from the bottom of my busy little heart for making our home look so amazing.

Update! I take it back! BA wrote me back after I emailed them and explained that this was an accident. Their employee mistakenly held on to my check. They felt bad and offered to pay me back for the overdraft fee I incurred, plus they gave me a little extra for my trouble. They also explained that customers experiences are really important to them and that they’d be changing business policies to do financial audits more often. They were kind, polite, and now I feel a whole lot better. I’ll be calling them for future service!

My review still stands at 2 stars, but I did want to mention that Anita emailed me after reading my review. In her email, Anita offered to come and clean the kitchen counters and floors, and dust and vacuum the living room. I declined. Why, you ask? Because our home has been lived in for a week since the cleaning and the time to try to rectify the experience we had was after my initial email that went unanswered, not after I had written a 2 star review. I can respect Anita’s desire to do what she can to change my review, though, and thought it worthy of mention.

I was looking for a very easy and reliable cleaning service and this is it! I had called/​contacted other places and they didn’t get back to me, or had poor communication in general. BA has always been quick to schedule/​respond and REALLY easy. I can tell them what I need and if that’s not available they give me plenty of other comparable times/​dates. Most importantly they are ON TIME and do a great job of cleaning. Prices are reasonable and overall it makes my life easier. Thanks!

I got my place cleaned by them yesterday for the very first time.
All in all, they did a good job the place is nice and clean but there are a few things that I am not so happy about. The first one and biggest one is I had a ten am appointment for cleaning but the didn’t show up until 11:45 and I had somewhere to be at 12. I don’t really want to leave house cleaners alone in my place for the very first cleaning but I had no choice. They said they had to do the last persons laundry which is fine, but then you should plan for that. Second they also hold me that I somehow I signed up for two hours of cleaning. Um… No I didn’t it wouldn’t take that long to clean my place. So all in all even though they are good I’m not going to use them again.

When a family member became ill and had to relocate to a more «accessible» home, we hired BA House Cleaning for the move. We had them for move in cleaning in Alameda and a move out cleaning in Oakland. When we moved out of the Oakland home, they cleaned it so we could put the home on the market and they cleaned the new home before the move in. They did a very thorough job.
Both homes were sparkling clean and honestly, the Oakland home had not been that clean in a while. There was a lot to go through, you know, when someone lives in a home for a very long time, there’s stuff everywhere (and I mean everywhere). They cleaned every built in appliance inside out (fridge, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher, etc) including all kitchen cabinets. All closets, doors, light fixtures. Bathrooms deep cleaned; tubs, showers, toilets, floors. They also cleaned our windows and the window sills amazingly!
We did add on for them to clean the blinds, old school wall heater (those things can get dusty) as well and they did a stellar job with those! Oh and the dryer vents! Just a great, great company to work with. Very easy to set up an appointment, they send reminders two days before, follow up after the cleaning.
Wish we had used them for carpet cleaning as well. Prior to finding out that they also do carpet cleaning we hired another company to clean the carpets, so it was already too late. They mentioned that their rates are better when you hire them for a full move out cleaning (general + carpet cleaning).
If you’re moving and need your deposit back or just need your placed cleaned, save yourself all the time and hassle and hire these hardworking professionals!
