The Happy Housekeeper!

Kim is awesome! I’ve had a few cleaners in the past and they always did a so-​so job. I couldn’t believe how spotless and organized my house was after she was done with it. She is very detail oriented and doesn’t miss a thing. She also is super patient and didn’t mind if my 3 (yes, 3) dogs hung out while she worked. I highly recommend her!

Kim first started working with me when I was pregnant and was basically put on light duty by my doc about 4+ years ago. It was initially kind of a hard adjustment trusting someone with a key to my home. However, since then, this has become a luxury in my life that I am simply unwilling to give up! Every time I come home after a day when Kim has been there, I feel an immediate calmness. She pays great attention to detail, is very reliable, and will do these little bits of organization that I notice throughout the house which I always appreciate. She’s simply the best! This review is based on Kim’s gracious spirit and willingness to help me get the gift my mother requested two days before Christmas!
My mother wanted her house cleaned for the Holidays as a gift. I live in the East Coast. I called around and either no one takes credit cards, no gift certificates or nothing tangible for me to send my mom.
Kim not only has gift certificates, but was able to email me an invoice prior to payment. She accepts Paypal and even emailed a receipt that doubled as the Gift Certificate! I forwarded the e-​certificate to my mom, so that she would be able to scheduled a cleaning at her leisure.
Well, she just called in awe and has now experienced «The Kim Effect» ~ I LOVE technology and am glad Kim was able to not only accommodate me, but my Mom as well. Thank you so much!

Kim is wonderful!
After my kitty passed away, and I got pretty depressed, my home fell into even more disarray than usual. I found Kim here, and sent her a message via Unilocal’s «message the business». She had a long waiting list, but her excellent cleaning skills are worth the wait. She’s super-​responsive via email, which I thought was nice (so many small businesses still require phone calls…). Her cleaning skills are nothing short of amazing: she’s fast, thorough, eco-​friendly, non-​judgmental, and sensitive (doesn’t throw away anything except garbage).
She’s a cool person too.

We first started working with Kim in 2011 through a cleaning service in Alameda and were astonished by her ability to clean our Winchester Mystery House-​style apartment as quickly and thoroughly as she did. When we moved to San Leandro in 2013, we were trying to save $$ and didn’t have a regular house cleaner for close to two years — HUGE MISTAKE (especially with two young kids). We quickly contacted Kim and were happy to find out she had started her own (wildly successful) business and would be able to accommodate
us for monthly cleanings.
As with our apartment in Alameda, our house is meticulously clean after each visit and our pets love when Kim is there. :-) I cannot recommend her enough and will have her clean every home I have for as long as she’s in business!

Kim has been cleaning our condo for about six months so far. It’s not a huge spot, but we have a ten month old daughter who believes food should live in every crevice of our home. It gets messy. My wife and I both work a lot and left to our own devices we clean on what I generously call an irregular schedule.
Enter Kim. Whenever she comes to the house, I get home and take a tour of my spotless home. The little bits of food stuck everywhere my daughter has been are spotlessly clean. Let me assure you it doesn’t end there. The shower grout is always as clean as new. The kitchen looks like it has been power washed. Every inch of carpet is spotless. She’s not perfect, of course. I think once she missed about a single square inch of dust inside a closed cabinet.
If you can hire her, count yourself lucky.

Kim is amazing! She confirmed my appointment in advance and talked to me on the phone about what I wanted. She arrived on time, and was meticulous and fast. My 1200 sq ft house looked wonderful by the time she left, even the hard-​to-​clean tile in my bathroom and kitchen. She even took the time to straighten out all my books. For the first time in ages, my house doesn’t look like a disorganised used bookstore. I’ve hired several housekeepers before, and I’d become really disillusioned with the inadequate work they had done, but Kim has restored my faith in the housekeeping profession. She even cleaned my windows. She is the best! The only minor downside is that she’s really popular (for obvious reasons) so you might have to book in advance. She’s a really nice, professional person. I’m still not sure how she turned my house from horror movie set to squeaky clean palace in four hours, and I am still (several days later) walking around amazed. Bonus: my cat loved her. Thank you Kim!

After moving from the South Bay to the East Bay, I was so happy to find Kim! I’ve had a few housekeepers and cleaning services over the years, and I can say that Kim is truly the best of the best! It’s such a pleasure to come home to my very clean house after Kim has been there. Kim is also just a great person — pleasant, professional, and so nice. So always confirms appointments and is gracious about accommodating my schedule. I highly recommend Kim!

I haven’t had Kim come by as a regular for a while (financial reasons!) but when I moved, I asked Kim to come and do the Big Clean for me — I was recovering from a long illness so didn’t even have the energy to clean a 500 sq ft empty apartment.
However, Kim was in and out in a jiffy and I got my full deposit back (with interest!).
She also has a huge fan base where I work — there are four of us who use her either ad hoc or on a regular basis. Thanks, Kim, for making me popular with my co-​workers! :)

This is my first time hiring a housekeeper as I’ve always felt silly paying someone to do what I am totally capable of doing myself. As it turns out, I can’t. Kimberly is so incredibly thorough that my home always turns out 10 times cleaner than I ever get it. She is also very sweet, efficient and brings a treat for my dog. It’s totally worth her rates. Only complaint is that you have to book ahead of time because she is understandably popular.

Kimberly has given me a new-​found and massive respect for the profession of housekeeping. I am ashamed to admit that I used to be one of those guys who took the household cleaning for granted, and just assumed that I was doing my share because, well, i cleaned up whenever *I* thought the place was dirty. Well, one divorce later (skipping the gory parts) I found myself in an apartment with two kids, and the grime mounting fast. I first found Kimberly on sittercity, but (to my chagrin, because Kim’s rates are not even that expensive) I went with a cut-​rate super-​budget 18-​year-​old housekeeper instead. Well, «you get what you pay for» and a couple months later (and one awkward morning when I came back to find the 18-​year-​old scoffing candy from my cupboard), I found myself looking for a housekeeper again.
Kimberly blew my expectations out of the water. She radiates pure professionalism. Let me count the ways… First up, she operates at literally twice the speed I’ve ever seen anyone clean. She’s punctual, and she’s thorough — SO thorough. She’ll chat if you feel like talking (and she’s super-​friendly), but she chats *while she works*, and doesn’t miss a beat. She brings her own supplies, including rubber gloves, and she definitely isn’t afraid of mold or grease. I have walked into a room to find her on hands and knees scrubbing the corners, under the sofas, and carefully moving my musical instruments around to find the last spot of dust. Even my mother was blown away by her professional attitude, and she’s the kind of mom who NEVER delegates the cleaning to ANYBODY.
I really can’t describe how my life has changed for the better since hiring Kimberly about 8 months ago. For a few glorious moments after she’s been, my house feels like a cool grown-​up place to be, and I can temporarily forget the fact that I’ve got two young kids who like to throw jelly at the walls and stash Cheerios in the crevices. In fact, when the kids do get home, I find myself hovering around behind them… picking up every dropped crumb, and dreading the loss of that «super-​clean» feeling that follows in Kimberly’s wake. I can instantly tell just by looking at my apartment how many days it’s been since she was there. We’re really talking about a deep clean on a regular basis: she even waxes the hardwood floors!
If I could, I would hire Kimberly full-​time in a heartbeat. She does laundry, she washes dishes, she takes out the recycling, she makes beds, she sorts cuddly toy battlefields into neat cuddly toy families, and puts away the monster trucks. She is the very model of discretion, never bats an eyelid at the disreputable chaos of my place, and always has a smile and a friendly word. How much better can it get? I don’t think it can. She has cleaned things I didn’t realize could be cleaned. I truly look forward to her coming, and not just for the cleaning — she’s really fun. I hope you see the light, as I have. Because I can tell you: it shines!

As advertised, Kim is indeed the Happy Housekeeper! She’s been a tremendous help to our busy family and a joy to have at our home every two weeks. I am, let’s just say, a little particular about order and cleanliness. But I think I may have found my better in Kim, who not only cleans to my specifications, but identifies and cleans/​organizes areas I would have missed.

Kim is amazing! She is everything I have been looking for. First of all, she is truly a cheerful person (not fakely so, but authentically) and it makes having her in my house really enjoyable. She listens carefully and does whatever it is you need doing; in other words, she’s flexible if that’s what you need. I have a serious illness and having Kim come twice a week enables me to stay in the workforce.
