History

Established in 2008.

Owners Alex Salazar and Leslie Biagini bring over 20 years of property service experience to AJ PaintMasters Plus, Inc. Alex has been a licensed painting contractor since 2002. Leslie, Alex and their expert painting crews are committed to providing you with the level of service, communication and support required to make you completely satisfied with the final project. We hold ourselves to a very high standard and acknowledge the each and every client is our most important one. We aren’t satisfied with the finished work unless YOU are.

Our mission is to become your trusted resource for all your residential painting needs. We are committed to developing solid relationships with homeowners who appreciate quality and lasting endurance. Our time is your time and we are happy to share our expertise, offer solutions and resources for you to get what you need. In addition to meeting the high expectations of our clients, we are invested in our community and making a difference in people’s lives. We consistently strive to give generously to the SF/​Marin food Bank, American Cancer Society, Salvation Army, ALS Foundation in addition to volunteering time helping at risk youth. We are active members in the Novato Chamber of Commerce and after participating in the Leadership Novato program, Leslie was selected as the Class Valedictorian. Leslie is also currently a member of the Rotary Club of Ignacio, a member on the Novato Government Affairs Committee and is a Commissioner on the Novato Planning Commission.

I couldn’t stand the color of my house. It was drab, it was dull, and I had a bad case of house shame every time I looked at it. We looked at a variety of painters and finally decided on AJ Paintmasters and I’m so glad that we did. Alex and his team did a beautiful job and they were so easy to work with. Leslie patiently and expertly answered all of my questions and eased my many concerns. Our house is now the happy, welcoming place I wanted it to be! I can not recommend them highly enough.

15 months later a response to a Unilocal review… Just as petty this time as the initial disrespect and rude offensive comments (in Spanish) to my wife…
As the building housed «tenants» the quality of the work was slipshod, and there appears to be dual standards for «rentals» vs. «owner occupied» properties. I feel qualified to assess this type of work as I am a NACE certified inspector having worked for the USAF worldwide.

Can’t say enough good about Paintmasters. They showed up on time, did excellent work, cleaned up thoroughly, and their employees are very nice and polite. Alex even worked with us on the price. The house they painted was in probate and the work AJ did made it look like a million bucks — literally! The neighbors were stopping by with compliments! I can wholeheartedly recommend AJ. I had Lesley and Alex provide a bid for my home before I put the house on the market in the Spring. They were friendly, efficient and professional and most of all, easy to work with on a somewhat complicated scope of work. I received the bid a few days later which was clear, concise and matched our conversation exactly. They even gave me a couple of additional options for the work which I had not considered. Terrible experience. Their workers ignored the contract to tsp, prime & fill holes in the walls. Spent the first day on their cell phones outside for hours. Never covered our bedroom suite as per contract. Could go on and on. Not what I was expecting from Unilocal reviews. So bad that we fired them mid contract.

I never thought I would say this but «I really enjoyed painting the entire upstairs in my home!» It was the best part of the large remodel we did this year. Nothing is usually easy in having «strangers» in your home for months but I really enjoyed working with Alex and his team. I love the care and detail of their work. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed and done right.
I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking to paint the inside or outside of the home they love.

I cannot say enough amazing things about AJ PaintMasters. Leslie and Alex are the heart and soul of this company and truly care about quality and doing the job right. We had a lot of painting to get done in a very short amount of time before we moved into the house, and I don’t think I could have trusted anyone else with the job. Their team of painters did an excellent job, were fun to work with, and were 100% dedicated to getting the work done on time. Leslie is AMAZING and extremely knowledgeable about not only painting, but hardwood floor installation, water intrusion… you name it! She is a wealth of knowledge and I have trusted all of her suggestions for other contractors to do work on our home. I highly recommend them for any paint job you need done, and will definitely use them in the future.

We used AJ PaintMasters to help us with mold remediation caused by a water leak (which they helped us find the source of too) as well paint our entire downstairs which had all new baseboard, trim and doors. Both projects were done well and its very clear that both Alex and Mike care about their customers.
Much care was put into the painting — everything was well protected prior to working and the work was very detailed. What I was extremely impressed with was their ability to patch large holes and cracks and make them invisible after painting — a talent I’ve never experienced with any other painter.
We were so pleased that we already have another painting project for them.

Description Of Work:
AJ Paintmasters painted the complete interior of our 3000 sq. ft. home in San Anselmo and repainted and did work on parts of exterior (which they did the original exterior paint work for the former owners), cleaned carpets and consulted on hardwood floor refinishing and tile installation.
The experience starts with contacting Leslie, she is very helpful and knowledgeable. Alex, the owner, runs his business like a family, and it shows — everyone is involved and invested. Mike, his lead job coordinator is effective, efficient, writes every detail down and doesn’t miss a thing — his work is meticulous. The painters directed by Mike are a fantastic group, pay attention to detial, and will redo an entire wall if they find one small defect in the paint — never a touch up job. Alex the owner was at the job every single day, not just at the beginning or at the end — every day.
AJ Paintmasters uses only Low and No VOC paint, and they care about the health of your home. The work was perfect — the painting just an incredible job, and we have 11 or so rooms and a large main area — we painted many different colors, and every room came out perfectly, every wall came out perfectly, every piece of trim, door and window came out perfectly. Not only that, the job came in on time and within budget, which was EXTREMELY reasonable to begin with (we got 4 estimates). I just can’t say enough about this business.
Nowadays when «good enough» seems to be the best you can get from anyone, it’s fantastic to work with people that think good enough isn’t good enough, go the extra mile and want you to be happy with their work and will do anything to make that happen. I wholeheartedly recommend AJ Paintmasters for painting and flooring work of any kind.

I had AJ PaintMasters paint the exterior of my home and could not be happier with the results. The stucco on the south side of the house was a mess and I was really worried about how it would turn out. They spent a long time prepping and did a great job scraping out all the cracks and thoroughly re-​caulking them. Now the house looks great and I can rest assured that it is well protected.

I hired AJ Paintmasters to paint the interior of our home after getting four other estimates. I was impressed with the way that Leslie handled my concerns and answered my questions regarding price, paint quality and color choice. I’m not fond of having people working in my home for extended periods of time so I wanted the job done quickly but also professionally. I shouldn’t have worried because the crew was fast, respectful of my space and did a great job. I had them come back a couple of months later and paint the guest bedroom and bathroom and again the job was done perfectly. A short while after that a relative of mine, staying in that guest room, dented the corner of the wall with his suitcase. Alex came, assessed the situation and fixed it on the spot (along with two other places that I had hit with the vacuum) and didn’t charge me. In addition to doing a stellar job, these people are genuinely nice and easy to deal with. You can’t go wrong hiring them to paint your home.

My work wanted to use a local Novato painter so I called up AJ Maintenance to get a quote. They were friendly and extremely helpful. Because they were near the building we wanted painted they even drove out to look at it to make a more accurate quote, which was above and beyond. We ended up not painting the building, but Leslie and crew still deserve 5 stars for all their help.

We had AJ Maintenance paint all of our interior doors, which were finished in the original wood varnish color that was extremely dated and tired. Instead of buying new doors, we took a chance and had them repainted in a contemporary white color, which AJ Maint had in stock and ready to go. They worked quickly, conscientiously and the quality of their workmanship is beyond evident every time we look at the finished product. Just an incredibly good job! We are extremely satisfied.

Found AJ’s in a local community mailer and hired them to paint two of our rooms. They were very easy to deal with, provided a fair price, and sent two very nice men to do the job. If I ever need work done around the house again, I wouldn’t hesitate to call this company.
