The Last Detail

Ryan and his coworker showed up on time and prepared with all their own equipment. They detailed my Volvo XC90 and it has never looked so good. Really fair pricing and great quality of service. I strongly recommend this business. I can’t believe how good my car looks now.

The Last Detail is the perfect blend of price and quality. If you take your car to the detail department at one of the local car washes, you’ll spend the same amount of money but not get nearly the level of service. You could go to a detail specialist who’s got a three-​week wait, needs you to bring the car to him, and costs double or triple what The Last Detail charges — and their quality matches his.
The guys from The Last Detail showed up on time at my house, spoke English, worked hard, and finished when they said they would. No hidden charges or upsells. My seven-​year old car looks fantastic, inside and out. Plus they use all green materials and even reclaim the water they use.
Don’t bother calling anyone else for a detail in Marin. These guys crush the competition.

Ryan Villa, the business’s owner, brought his mobile detailing service to my carport. He and his partner did a terrific job restoring the interior of my car after it had been stolen and used as a smoking room — after I’d owned the car for 4 ½ years without a cigarette ever having been lit in it. They steam cleaned the carpets, put leather conditioner on the 18 year old seats, and made the exterior, especially the alloy wheels, look better than it ever has as long as I’ve owned the car. The price was more than fair, and quite a bit less than some other detailers that I called before settling on The Last Detail. I would absolutely uses them again, and cannot recommend Ryan and The Last Detail highly enough!

Ryan and partner did a great job cleaning up my van. Arrived on time, they worked more hours than estimated but at no additional cost. Highly recommended.

Good mobile detailer. Two guys worked hard on my car for good 2 – 3 hours on my drive way. They do really good interior detailing. Price is within reasonable range.

Before «The Last Detail» came to my house and performed their earth friendly magic on my Chrysler van, a decade of driving around with children was crusted into the seats and carpet. I would have never found the time to get my car cleaned (and so much more!) if it weren’t for this business arriving at my own doorstep to make it happen. I had gotten use to the strange smells, sticky cup holders, and mystery stains, but now my van smells so fresh! To be able to stay home, prepare lunch for the kids, and fold the laundry while my car gets cleaned with quality and care is a luxury well worth paying for…5 stars for The Last Detail!!!

I purchased a full car detailing on GroupOn to get our Subaru ready to resell. I emailed them to set up an appointment and also wanted to ask about tipping etiquette (I wasn’t sure about this industry’s expectations). Justin replied back promptly with a convenient appointment and told me that tipping was left up to the individual. He suggested that I wait to see how satisfied I was with the work and decide afterwards. I thought this was an extremely professional and ethical answer. We live in what I consider a culture that expects tips for everything — even the 17 yr old at the self serve yogurt shop has a tip jar out! Ok, ok… I digress. I just thought that his expectation that his employees get tipped based on the end result was a breathe of fresh air. THEN, when Justin and his partner showed up to do the work themselves, I realize it was a small operation and he himself was doing the work. I was even more impressed with his tipping response.
So the work…
It was excellent to say the least. Arriving at our home in the morning, they set up a tent, generator and and all equipment to do the job. They had their work cut out for them. I knew they would polish and buff the exterior and wheels just fine but the interior was a mess. We have a 5 yr old and a 1 yr old who likes to squirt his milk all over the seats. I was skeptical that the sour milk and baby throw up (he got car sick) was ever going to come out of the cloth seats. Oh, did I mention the dried yogurt that was strategically smashed into the crevices of the upholstery and just about all of the hard to reach areas had some type of food product crusted on them. Well, The Last Detail guys got it done.
Justin also suggested a $ 20 upsell to clean underneath the hood to help improve the resale value of the care. He wasn’t sharky or pushy about it. He just offered his professional opinion for the best results. We added this service and it was great. The whole car sparkled inside and out (and under the hood). It looked as good as the day we brought it home… short of the dent I put in the back fender. :)
So, did I tip them?
Well, as a business owner in the service industry, I don’t often tip for owner operated services. I feel that they get all the take home money and can dictate what they charge. I should mention that I don’t accept tips for my services. It just my personal philosophy. That said, I am a gracious and generous tipper when it is earned. And these guys earned it. So, yes I tipped and wanted to give them a rave review on Unilocal.
I don’t know when we will need their services again but I look forward to it… and will recommend them to anyone that is looking to make their car shine!

Justin came out to our home to detail my wife’s WHITE Mustang convertible. She was driving it in our Sonoma 4^th of July parade, so it really needed to shine and it did, WOW! Justin/​The Last Detail totally came through! It looked brand new rolling thru the Parade.

Had the guys from The Last Detail clean my Lincoln MKX and they did a suburb job! I couldn’t be happier with their auto detailing service. They arrived on time, were very professional, and extremely efficient. My carpets had numerous stains on them from months of neglect (a few that I thought might never come out) and now they look brand new! I also thought their services were very reasonably priced for a mobile auto detailing service! I will definitely be using The Last Detail again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great and convenient service!

All I can say is, AMAZING!!! My suburban looks like the day we bought it! I have 4 kids, so you could imagine how dirty and messy my car could get. Justin and Ryan were super friendly and professional! I truly love the attention to detail they put into their work. Wow. Totally pro operation. Ryan and Justin came out to detail my husbands work truck which had basically never been cleaned. They arrived on time, set up, worked efficiently. They really had their work cut out for them. When they were finished I was in shock at how amazing the truck looked. I keep finding myself walking out to my driveway, opening the truck door and looking inside in awe. They use ecologically sound cleaning materials with careful consideration of their environmental impact. On top if it all, their fee was incredibly fair. I will recommend The Last Detail to everyone I know that needs a good, deep cleaned and detailed auto.
