History

Established in 2011.

Erin began taking photographs seriously as she traveled South East Asia alone with her camera in 2008. She was able to explore and question her own experiences of personal growth and finding her own unique place in the world. Her images prove to be a impactful, depicting the human experience in a romantically dark fashion.

In 2011, Erin quit her day job working with at risk youth to live and breathe art, and has been working as a freelance photographer in the Los Angeles area. Erin is also a founder of a San Fernando Valley based art collective with the purpose of exposing and promoting local artists while bringing an art community to a very large suburb of Los Angeles that lacks a cohesive creative community.

I am definitely someone who has never been comfortable with taking photos ever and I contacted Erin to shoot me as a gift for my boyfriend for our anniversary. I was very nervous and not totally comfortable with the idea but the second i stepped in front of the camera and Erin checked lighting, etc I felt automatically calm and in very capable hands. She gave encouraging words throughout the shoot and knows what angles worked and didn’t work for me, which i was appreciative of. She is also very open to your creative ideas and has a excellent creative ideas of her own, which is something hard to come by… a real artist in tune with your own self expression.
I highly recommend her services and you will be satisfied with the results! :)

Erin has taken my picture numerous times: headshots, portraits, and «artsy.» Each time I’ve had a great, fun experience and walked away with gorgeous pictures that were exactly what I wanted. I definitely recommend going to her with ANY photography need. Even if her prices were twice as high (they are actually really really reasonable) I’d still feel like I was getting a great deal.

Erin has taken my picture on several conceptual shoots, as well as straight head shots, promotional shots and even family portraits. She is a natural with the camera and works closely with the individual to make sure they look their best without «forcing» a smile. You will definitely get more bang for your buck than with any other professional photog in the area.

Erin Stone is a marvelous photographer with a great eye (& lens). I’m extremely nervous in front of camera and usually resort back to a scrunched up, frumpy face after a few frames and Erin was oh so patient with me!
Our time together was hilarious! With Tom Waits blaring in the background and me frolicking in front of her backdrop, she was able to capture dozens of great photos for my website and bio! She made me feel so comfortable and natural. She’s great at giving direction and I loved seeing that smile of hers below her camera :)
Her turnaround time was instantaneous! The moment I got home and to my computer, the photos were already in my inbox for me to pick from! Erin is so professional and a joy to work with. I stopped looking for photographers once I met her; there’s no one I would rather work with!

I’m one of those people who looks terrible in pictures.
It’s like this, I’ll be standing around and smiling, minding my own business and enjoying myself. Then someone produces a camera and suddenly I’m knuckle-​deep in my own nose, with one eye shut.

Erin takes great pictures. And she’s even managed to coax some really great pictures out of me, in her quiet and gentle way. She is really great about reminding me to lower my chin, and soften my angles. She’s a joy to shoot with, and she’s helped me get scads of internet dates!
Seriously, I can’t imagine how I’d ever get a date without her photos!!! Don’t take my word for it, though, just see for yourself. A picture is worth a thousand words, after all!
