Wow, truly this was the only reason why I would come to Newpark Mall. I absolutely hate NewPark mall for all you care, but coming from Union City just to eat at this place was worth it. 1) their chicken was some of the best BBQ chicken I have ever had. 2) yummy BBQ sauce as well 3) The sides were just kinda average but definitely were good too. 4) friendly service here The only thing that’s sad is that this place is officially CLOSEDFORBUSINESS. That’s right, ever since early 2009 or late 2008 they closed. When I was coming up the escalator my mouth was watering and as soon as I saw«Panda Express» believe it or not, I actually started to cry tears of BBQ sauce. Okay well not really, but I started to cry tears. Now I don’t go to NewPark Mall anymore. RIP Texas Wagon Barbeque thanks for all the memories from years past!

this place was the place to eat… when they first opened. They used to give monster portions for reasonable price, and I am a big bbq connoisseur. The only problem was that after they opened for 6 months. the owner became as stingy as the management at your average Subway and started giving smaller and smaller portion sizes. For the best BBQ… go to E&J in Oakland or Hayward

CLOSED! What happened to this place? This was one of the few mall food court places that I enjoyed. This place was usually busy as the free samples always attracted a crowd. The ribs were average, but the the BBQ chicken was pretty good. The #1 combo with a plate of rice was always a winner. It’s hard to believe that this place closed down while some of the crappy establishments that are in this same food court are still open. Now, what am I gonna do while the wife is shopping? I don’t really care for Sbarro or Burger King and I don’t get excited anymore when the girl makes lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick. I guess I’ll have to go straight to dessert at Cold Stone.

Touché, Mr. Mall-Food-Court-Salesman! For convincing my husband to purchase a second meal and completely forgo the meal he had already purchased from another vendor. I sent him around to look for some salt and pepper. You honed in on him like a dealer who can spot a junkie from a block away. You lured him in with all the samples he could desire and told him that your stuff would be superior to the stuff he already bought. You were able to overcome my husband’s weak mind and endless hunger. He came back to me with a plate of your ribs and microwaved canned veggies and not even a memory of my salt and pepper. He tried telling me everything was okay because the original purchase would be taken home and consumed the next day. Uh huh, sure. Now I have a meal that was never touched sitting in a styrofoam box in my fridge that I’ll probably have to throw away in a few days cause he’ll never eat it. Oh yeah, you’re good. Ever thought of being a used car salesman? I bet you would make a killing… [1 star — Decent ribs for a mall food court] [1 star — My 1yr old daughter loved the canned veggies, ew.] [1 star — For your cunning sales tactics]

I would have to disagree with Los’ review. I’ve been to Texas Wagon at newpark many times and I have to say that their chicken is great!!! The chicken goes great with the sauce too. The co owner is very friendly and they always give free samples. only reason why i didn’t give it 5 stars is that the price to portion ratio isn’t really great. they don’t give a lot of portions for the price you pay. well i guess its because i’m a heavy eater and I demand heavy portions. Importantly the food quality is great and it will leave you craving for more. recomended!!!

Please if you plan to go to the New Park Mall and you feel a little hungry, don’t go here. This place has the worst BBQ on this side of the Mississippi. All their entrees taste like they just microwaved them. I’d rather eat at Hot Dog on a Stick or my own vomit. So please stay away or you definitely feel like knocking out the the person who owns it. Peace.
