This place was such a letdown. No pumpkin pancakes as the menu promised. Uninterested waitress. No water or bread for the table. Small salad for full price. The merest suggestion of quinoa, barely worth eating. Why even bother?

On a good note, their new look is quite nice and the tables now don’t come up to your chin. But, they’ve changed their menu and it’s just not appetizing, so I went with the Sarabeth’s standard for me: Goldilox. The eggs were not cooked. Are you kidding? Staff was so uninterested in my well being(didn’t even ask how everything was) that I decided to pay my bill and to never return. PS the Pumpkin muffin that has always been great, stunk. Tasted like dough. Bye bye Sarabeths.

There’s a historic elegance in eating lunch(or having tea) at one of the Department Stores. This was not it. While I’m normally not anti-Sarabeth’s, this just really didn’t cut it from menu selection to food quality to value for price paid. LorTay’s really blew it… hope it’s at least profitable for them. Because it’s a tremendous«fail» to me!

I recently had lunch at Sarabeth’s. The place has been completely refurbished and it looks great. The colors are cool tones of gray with a comfortable feel. If you are in a large group the restaurant now has designated tables that can seat up to ten people. Go early. This is quite an accomplishment for a small place. I like Sarabeth’s because you can actually hear yourself speak to a dining partner without having to shout. This is classic Lord & Taylor’s at its very best. And it speaks to the elegance of the store. At this time they are still working on the menu so the lunch specials were not yet available, My meal was fine and the waiter’s service was excellent. It was also nice to be greeted by the well mannered hostess at the door, Sarabeth’s opened in time for the holidays. After shopping who wouldn’t want to eat in the lovely Sarabeth’s.

Ah to come in for a break while you shop til you drop. I’m a victim to Lord and Taylor’s «Big Sales» — and yes, it means I’m buying more«mature» clothing(gotta grow up sometime). But to come to Sarabeth’s(albiet kind of a small spot) in the middle of a shopping spree is nice. I had the Cobb Salad, which is large and tasty and a coffee– which is pretty good actually. This particular location isn’t the nicest Sarabeth’s, but it’s really convenient.

This was a terrible experience. I had the fried chicken salad and the chicken at McDonalds is much better. The salad had no dressing. I asked for more and the wait was unreal. I finally got the bill, gave her my card and I watched as she took it to the register and have afive minute conversation with her co worker. I finally got her attention by almost yelling at her and she came and got no tip.

Avoid. This Sarabeth’s location is nothing like the others. Food was okay, but service was poor. Also, ambiance is seriously lacking(think run down restaurant inside a hotel). Meh — felt bad for reserving this place, esp for my friends who had never been to a(real/good) Sarabeth’s before. We asked our waiter if we could split the check 5 ways(evenly). He said 3 is usually the max, but that he would ask to see if they would make an exception. He came back and said it would be no problem. Then, the manager(Muhsin Demirkan with Flik USA and Compass USA Food Services — not Sarabeth’s?) came over a few minutes later and said it was a problem — 2 was the max. Not a big deal, just odd experience.

I was very disappointed in my visit today to Sarabeths. I was in the city for the day and had researched last week where«the best Waldorf salad was in the city». Sarabeth’s name popped up and upon looking at the menu online we decided to eat there for lunch. When we got there the Waldorf salad was not listed on the menu as it was online and the waitress told us that it had been discontinued. We then ordered soup. We asked the waitress if we could have a couple of the roll biscuits that came with the soup and she said that she did not have enough. The soup was good but the experience was not great. We were extremely disappointment in the salad not being on the menu. It is still listed on the online menu. We will not return.

Amazed that the owners of the real Sarabeths would allow their name to be associated with this place. Food, service, ambiance and clientele made me feel like I was in a Holiday Inn in Dayton OH or something.

The menu is really short. Not a lot of choices, décor seems kinda tacky. Bloody Mary tasted horrible. Decent service though.

Basic menu suitable for a quick lunch when shopping solo or with a friend. The quality of food was simply ok, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. Very nice, attentive staff.

Just visited for the first time the other day and had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was moderately crowded but we were still seated rather quickly and the wait staff was always attentive and available. Ordered from their weekly specials menu the tea sandwich trio: came with half of a chicken salad wrap, a small buttery scone with tuna salad, a small buttery raisin scone with a strawberry cream filling, and it also had a refreshing mesculin salad on the side as well, all delicious. My guest ordered the florentine omlette that came with a croissant and preserves, she also said it was very good. It’s on the 5th floor now, nothing notable to speak of really for the décor, just clean and our table was a bit wobbly… I wouldn’t come here for a weekend brunch but during the week it’s a reasonable spot. The prices are very good too.

I was not going to write this review, or say anything about this situation, until I spent the morning trying to find somebody, either at the restaurant or at Lord & Taylor that CARED about what I consider a pretty darn serious issue — would you care if you had a BEDBUG problem if you were in the CLOTHING or restaurant business? I sure would. I wish there was less than one star. The only place I went yesterday was to lunch at the Sarabeths at Lord & Taylor at 5th and 38th Streets. My condo does NOT have bedbugs. I was seated against the fabric banquets in the dining room. When I returned home, I started itching. This morning, terrible welts and hives. Dr. says it’s BEDBUGS!!! That says it all, doesn’t it? EWWWW. But wait, it gets better. Called the restaurant right away, I wasn’t fishing for a free salad, for goodness sake, just thought they should know so they could take remedial measures. The person who identified himself as the manager didn’t seem to care at all. He said, «you have to call the manager» and gave me a number for someone else. No answer. No call back. Then I thought, geez, I bet Lord & Taylor would like to know there are creepy crawlies in their store… their CLOTHING store… so I called Lord & Taylor’s customer service. When I asked to speak to someone about a customer service issue, they asked«regarding what» when I said«bedbugs» they told me, you have to call the individual store. Now, mind you, I’m still just trying to LETSOMEONEKNOW so they can do something about it. Then, I thought, well I’ll call Sarabeth’s corporate offices, surely someone there will care that one of their stores is infested! Not so dear friends, when I called Sarabeth’s corporate offices in the Bronx I was told, «you’ll have to call the individual store» apparently there is no corporate accountability at Sarabeths. So there I was, trying to be a nice person and let them know about a potential PR nightmare, given the run-around, send through voicemail heck time and time again. That’s when I decided to write this review. BEWARNED — do not eat here. Do not sit up against the banquets. Once Bitten, Twice Shy!

I wish I read the reviews before going. Can’t believe my favorite breakfast spot in the city slapped their label on this one. This cheap imitation doesn’t serve bloody marys or make eggs benedict. They don’t even bake their own goods there. They ran OUTOFMUFFINS. Yet they charge the same prices as the other stores. Sarabeths, my friends got a very bad impression of you. You let me down big time.

Great simple meals with to be expected ok service in a department store 5th floor setting. The environment holds back the 5th star.

Just went to Sarabeth’s in Lord and Taylor for my birthday lunch with a coworker. I am very appreciative of the fact that she took me out, since she didn’t have to! Overall the food was good… HOWEVER The restaurant was empty(literally two other tables) but it took SO long to get our food. The waitress checked up on us once, right after the food was served. I got the quesadilla and she got the open face salmon sandwich. Again the food was good but it gets a low rating due to service. Go to the other Sarabeth’s locations as they are phenomenal.

We went to Sarabeth on a Saturday for brunch and were very disappointed to say the least. First the place is terrible on the 6th floor of Lord & Taylor. Second the service was okay, or even kind of bad. And the food was definitely not great. However, the worst is still to come. A friend of mine from France used her credit card to pay. They kept the credit card for an awfully long time(ten minutes at least) and when they finally gave it back to us they barely apologized. But, after my friend got back to France(she took a plane on the same Saturday), she found out that her credit card had been used in the US for a total amount of $ 3,200 ! I do not like to make unfounded accusations, but she used her card only four times during her stay in NYC, three times in stores(where the guy swipes your card in front of you) and once… at Sarabeth ! So beware !

I went to a café side at 6th floor. I had very normal latte and a cookie for my café time. Very normal. Yes. No reason to go back there. Even the department store… It is just totally telling«un-fashiony culture of America». The worst department store in many worse ones in NYC.

Over priced and terrible service. They didn’t know what some of the menu items were. I just cant do it.
