A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tours

Worth it if you want to see Brooklyn, sample awesome pizza, see some famous movie footage filmed in the borough, hear some charming tour info, stop at Coney Island, and be treated well by the tour guide and bus driver!
Our party of 9 was an odd size but tour guide Michelle did an awesome job of accommodating our party in the 2 pizza places with our own private tables. Service at Grimaldi’s and L&B Spumoni was top notch due to not waiting in line, not waiting for seating, and having hit fresh pizza promptly delivered to the tour group.
Loved all of Michelle’s stories, tid bits and info on NYC culture, Brooklyn sites and insider knowledge since she is raised in the area.
Bus driver was quick but safe and the ride was comfortable. Bus was air conditioned and comfy. Sit towards the front if you get motion sickness cuz no matter how skilled a driver, the NY streets and tunnels are bumpy and congested.
I liked the pizza at Grimaldi’s but my family liked the Sicilian type. 2 slices at each place was more than enough for lunch. We bought ice cream and had beer at L&B and were stuffed. Some of us took a nice snooze on the way back to Manhattan.
Great experience. Worth the money. Tell your friends.

Killer! Never would have thought of taking a pizza bus tour… so glad my wife found it in a brochure!!! Not only do you hit two, first class pizza joints, you also get an amazing window tour of Brooklyn — seeing many historic sites and hearing stories that created today’s Brooklyn and laid the foundation for America!!! The tour guide was fantastic — Marc knew his stuff and was very entertaining from the moment we got on the bus! This is a must do for anyone visiting the city and wanting to get some of the best pizza in the world (literally! Both places are considered to be in the top 10 of the U.S.)!!

Had a great tour. Marc was the best tour guide. Very knowledgable about the borough of Brooklyn. The two pizza stops were awesine. I enjoyed the neapolitan of Grimaldi’s, and the Scicilian at L and J’s. It was great seeing all the movie filming spots. They had film clips on the bus that showed how the spots were used. Very entertaining. The walk through Coney Island was fantastic! Lots of great history.. It’s so glad to see that place is coming back around again. Highly recommend this tour!!!

This tour was great, and Marc was a fantastic guide. The bus was extremely comfortable and spacious and made driving around Brooklyn a lot of fun. I was full by the end and had a great time seeing and hearing about Brooklyn and Coney Island.
The Food:
I’ll honestly say that it was great having a chance to try two very different styles of pizza, but the pies themselves didn’t blow me away. Grimaldi’s serves up tasty Neapolitan pizza with a thin, slightly chewy crust and fresh ingredients on top — quite good but not the «best» such pizza I’ve had (I’d rate Antico in Atlanta and Pizzeria Blanco in Phoenix as easily better). Still, a tasty pie. L&B was a bit less exciting, but I’m not as much into thicker Sicilian-​style pizza. It was good for what it is, and I’m sure Sicilian fans would enjoy it greatly.
The Sights and Sounds:
This is where the tour really shone. Seeing and hearing about the bridges and history of several neighborhoods was the best part of the tour. The bus came equipped with a flat screen and sound system where clips from movies filmed in Brooklyn would play while driving past the exact spots the filming occurred at. Our tour guide, Marc, was very knowledgeable about the areas and had a great sense of humor.
This wasn’t a cheap tour, but the food and drinks were worth around $ 25-​$ 30 and the transportation and information was easily worth the rest. I’d recommend it to anyone, especially if you’re not looking for a tour that requires a lot of walking (getting out to stretch and walk the boardwalk at Coney Island for maybe 30 minutes was the longest walking bit, but that’s easily a feature as it’s a very historic site to visit).

Best tour of Brooklyn, hands down. And pizza. Tony and Paula both are fun, interesting and enthusiastic about their home boro. And there’s pizza. Passing by the lines at Grimaldi’s is in itself a major perk and you can compare two classic Brooklyn, but very different pizzas. In addition to the fun and informative guides they also have monitors to show you the scenes from the classic film locations that the bus passes by. And there’s pizza. Well worth every penny and more. You MUST do this tour. Did I mention the pizza?

So fun. So good. I have never tasted Sicilian pie as good. Fuhgetaboutit! Thanks Tony and staff for an awesome day with awesome sites, and awesome food!

Did the Pizza Tour and the Dycker Heights Lights Tour. You must request Angela. She is an AWESOME tour guide. Both were very interesting. With the Dycker Heights tour, I don’t know whether I was more amazed of the decorations or the houses that boasted these decorations. It really put us in the Christmas spirit.

I highly recommend this tour! Marc was hilarious and super informative! If I am able to come to NYC in the winter, I will be checking out the holiday lights tour for sure. This was definitely with every penny, and we got to try some amazing pizza as well.

The pizza was less than mediocre. The tour guy spoke poorly of the people of Brooklyn. We looked at Coney Island and we were rushed because the tour started late.
Spend your money elsewhere.

I did tons of research when picking out a Brooklyn Tour and this was the best and we are so happy we took it!
Short and Easy:
–Beautiful Bus WITH BATHROOM
–Get out and walk around by Dumbo (awesome awesome photo spot)
–First pizza place served with bottles sodas (at least a $ 15 per person value, so while the tour may be pricier, you do not need to buy lunch this today)
–Tour more of Brookyln and go past some beautiful homes
–Second Pizza place served with pitchers of soda (another $ 15 value per person)
Also has ice cream, but you have to pay if you want — we got Italian Ice — very good!
–30 to 40 minutes to get out and walk around at Coney Island
–Awesome awesome tour guides! This goes out to Paula’s mom for raising such an awesome young woman! Great job — Paula rocks!

Pizza Tour of Brooklyn, 4 hours, 2 lunch stops with amazing best pizzaria’s of NY, and the best tour guide around.
There wasn’t a minute of the tour we weren’t laughing, taking pictures, enjoying pizza or enjoying some amazing sights… most of which we would never have known/​seen without this tour.
Also, Paula is amazing. I’m sure the owner is a great tour guide, but I’d bet money Paula takes the cake. She’s hilarious, warm, friendly, makes everyone feel part of the group, and does a wonderful job. We’d do the tour again, just to be around her fun energy.

Very nice bus: fab. Movie clips: fab. Paula, the tour guide: fab. Pizza: fab. Overall, fab. You won’t regret doing this.

Despite growing up in NJ, this delightful excursion was my first trip to Brooklyn. The bus leaves from downtown Manhattan, so it’s a perfect change of pace for people visiting NYC. Our guide, Paula, was very knowledgeable about the borough, charming, entertaining and being a native, has the perfect accent/​mannerisms.
The highlights of the tour include amazing views of lower Manhattan from the base of the Brooklyn Bridge and visiting locations as you watch the clips from movies shot on location including Goodfellas, The French Connection and John Travolta’s strut in the opening sequence of Saturday Night Fever. The pizza is delicious also.
Highly recommend!

If you want to see a thorough tour of Brooklyn, take this tour. — Great views of the Brooklyn Bridge, unique houses in Bay Ridge, Coney Island, Gramaldi’s pizza.
Great park by the Brooklyn Bridge — (I forgot the name of it). Coney Island was good, but, we could have walked 30minutes instead of rushing through in 20 minutes. Paula did not tell us too much about Coney Island’s history.
Have the tours unique — advertise it as being small, intimate, personal, luxurious mini buses, small groups. — not massive cattle! Mini buses can drive through different streets that big buses can’t.
Paula is a native of Brooklyn and was knowledgeable, she has been doing these tours about 4 years.
I was on the Neighborhood tour and it was much better with the luxurious mini bus that seated about 15 — 20 people.
This tour had 50 people jammed on to a huge impersonal bus. She was in the front, seems like just talking to the front passengers. The out of town tourists had no disregard for personal property, they sat in different seats each time we got back on. I was looking for my seat — the tourists gave me dirty looks. The tour guide should have more control over where people sit — make an announcement to please sit in your original seat. There was no camaraderie, quiet bus most of the time, bored kids. Most of Paula’s stories throughout the tour went over most of the out of town tourists’ heads. Just stick to the facts — she went on tangents sometimes.
Lets not forget the unsung hero, the terrific driver.
Pizza — 2 places within an hour of each other. Gramaldi’s — terrific! (but needed renovations — ripped cushioned seats. Spumoni’s — ugh! (mushy, uncooked). Family place, stale water, rickety tables, busboy with baggy pants — see his butt. On the way there, Paula made a big deal about ordering the spumoni, we had no time, we were only there 20 minutes! You can’t feed 50 people, bathroom break, and spumoni in 20minutes. My mom bought some, 3 seconds later we hear the annoucement to get back to the bus. She threw the whole thing out without eating it.

Paula! Thank you so much for all the details you shared with us! We wouldn’t have been able to get all of these highlights any other way. The bus was nice, the people were nice, The pizza was awesome and we will do it again on our next trip to NY. This was a «way more than you paid for» tour. If you are going to NY, don’t miss this really fun trip…

This pizza tour was the best. Paula did a great job not only telling stories but making the whole bus laugh.
This tour is worth it. This was my first time here in New York. I am glad we took this tour.

Overpriced, lackluster, and impersonal. If you want to see the lights, just rent a car and drive yourself to Dyker Heights. The cannolis at the end of the tour did not redeem our expectations for this tour. Do yourself a favor and save your money!

This tour isn’t just a slice, It’s a whole PIE topped with extra cheese and extra Brooklyn. This tour is a great way to adventure Brooklyn and I recommend it for the everyone visiting NYC not just pizza lovers.
I loved that the pick up location is in Manhattan, It was an easy place to get to and find and then the tour guide gets a chance to introduce herself and talk about how Brooklyn compares to Manhattan. Speaking of the tour guide, I wish I could remember this brunette beauties name! She was amazing, part of the tour companies family and she knew her tour and Brooklyn history like a true native! (Me and my friend loved you to death and we want to go get drinks with you!!!)
The tour is around 4 & ½ hours but I was never bored! The stops on the tour are well timed and the pizza breaks are the perfect amount of time! The tour really does run like a fine tuned machine and I can tell this tour company really takes pride and ownership over their product.
Lastly, THE PIZZA!!! YUM YUM YUM!!! Great picks and the perfect amount of cheesy saucy crusty goodness. The guide even let us take home extras which was a great bonus! OH, and before I forget I was really impressed that soda was also free at the Pizza stops. It’s a little thing but it really made me feel treated!

trip was ok, tony was ok. he is very knowledgeable on trivia …only wish there were more neighborhoods explored… time went by very fast, and .a good bulk of the time was spent in prospect park, then a cemetery, and Juniors.
The rest you’d have to appreciate and look very fast or miss it from in the bus.
the tv on bus are a little on small side.
still I felt safe and got to see my way around a little for next time, and would go on another trip that is more for one thing like xmas lights, or pizza. theres too much to see I guess for a neighborhood tour and don’t get your expectations up too high like did.

My wife and I finally decided to take this tour (we had been talking about it for years) on a recent trip to NYC. We visit the city a few times each year and don’t normally do tours, but this is one we had been interested in for a while. We both love NY-​style pizza and have always wanted to see more of Brooklyn, so figured this was a great fit! Wow am I glad we finally did it. Both the tour and Tony (our guide) were fantastic! What a comfortable, relaxing, entertaining and delicious way to see some of Brooklyn! Tony greeted us at the bus (a very comfortable, clean and new luxury coach) at Union Square and took us on a 4.5 hour tour of Brooklyn returning again on time back to Union Square. Very convenient! Tony was a great tour guide (well spoken, energetic, great story teller, knowledgeable, and very friendly) and the pizza was excellent! Would highly recommend this to anyone!
Some highlights:
— very comfortable bus (luxury style coach) with a bathroom
— microphone (easy to hear) used by Tony and TVs supplemented the tour (showing movie scenes that matched with what we were seeing)
— GREAT (and diverse) pizza: sicilian (L&B Spumoni) and neopolitan (Grimaldi’s). Spent about ½ hour at each pizza place. Be sure to try the spumoni at L&B (pistachio), it’s delicious! We grabbed a small cup to eat on the bus!

I can’t say enough good things about this tour. We aren’t big «tour people», but this was really excellent! Well worth the money and a great way to spend an afternoon and get away from Manhattan to see some other great sites in NYC! Tony runs a 1^st-​class operation, for sure!

The pizza is maybe a bit overrated but the tour isn’t. Tony delivers a solid tour through Brooklyn and he manages to keep your attention for the entire 4,5 hours. He is really funny and the tour doesn’t seem to be rehearsed. A special thanks to Brooklyn Frank for the Spumoni. Vaffanapoli!
