Went for Father’s day and they did not disappoint. My meal was actually free as I am a dad. Slow but good service, nice brunch choices. Food was slow to arrive but everything was good.

The worst. Horrible, horrible experience here. Definitely won’t be back and recommend no one else to either. And Stephen, the manager, was very rude to us. That said, our server Peter was friendly and did a great job. I went here on a night out after dinner with my brothers, a friend, and my dad when he came to visit for the weekend. At one point about an hour in, two of us were accidentally standing in the way of the service area. We were politely asked to move by Stephen(manager), to one of 3 areas: the lounge in front, the dance floor, or the balcony area. We told him we didn’t know the balcony was open and he told us that it had been a private party but that it was over and we could go to that area. We went up there and hung out for about 45 minutes with no issues. When 2 friends came to meet us, my brother walked out to meet them, and when he came back in, one of the guys from the private party which was earlier told him in some very strong language to get out. I looked over and saw him being aggressive to my brother and went and asked if there was a problem. He told me we needed to get out and shoved me. At that point, my family and I walked down and I went straight to the manager Stephen and told him what had happened. He ignored me completely. As we asked for the bill, I told Peter our server what happened and why we were cashing out instead of staying there as planned, and he said to wait while he got the manager because he thought it was unacceptable. Stephen then came back to «help» and was incredibly rude. I told him we were leaving regardless because we were looking for a fun night out and not trouble, but that he needs to be aware I was physically laid hands on by someone from the«private party» after being told by Stephen the area was open. He asked if I could point out the guy, walked with me upstairs. He introduced me to the security guard and I walked him to the guy that was aggressive to us, who had no problem admitting he had done that. As I told Stephen what happened, he cut me off very rudely and said«I have a giant line outside. Do you not think I’m going to handle this responsibly?» We were told to wait at the front of the balcony because he was going to ask them to leave. We waited and saw that no action was taken. Nobody asked the party to leave, nobody came to apologize to us, nobody did a thing. Stephen was incredibly rude, and seemed annoyed that I brought to his attention something that I, having worked in the service industry before, would want to have known. There are too many wonderful places in this city to go somewhere with rude patrons, at-best average drinks, and managers who don’t take action after a party physically lays hands on a female patron there with her family and seem annoyed to even have it brought to their attention. Totally classless place that I will definitely try to talk anyone out of going to.

Fun atmosphere and great bartenders. However, I went to the bar and not to eat, and as a fair warning I went on a Saturday night and the crowd skewed younger as the night went on(early 20-somethings)

After some careful research and recommendations we chose the Music City Tippler for our dinner while visiting Nashville for the weekend with friends. What a mistake. The menu was entirely different than what was posted on the web site and by different I don’t mean a change of seasons or an update. I mean they were serving the late night menu of light apps and sandwiches for dinner service. We were the only people sitting for dinner at 7pm on Saturday night. It was almost surreal, we were wondering if they lost the kitchen staff the night before? or maybe earlier in the day? Our open faced salmon sandwich was served on a hamburger bun. Not a nice restaurant prepared bun but a real grocery store white bread generic hamburger bun. The entire time we were having dinner, someone was running a lemon press or some sort of grinder/slicer over in the corner of the dinning room. Not sure why? we were the only people there. maybe the chef had the flu? Stay away.

As an Adelicia resident, I really do love the Tippler. I think it’s one of the best things to happen to Midtown. It’s a great place to dance along to a DJ on weekend nights, or host an intimate writer’s round with the best songwriters on Music Row.(Much more sophisticated than many of the other Midtown bars.) I go to the Tippler at least once a week. I love the drink options and have enjoyed many small plates by the award-winning chefs. However, there are just a few things about MCT that really peeve me. First, their menu changes almost monthly. I don’t mean that they change seasonal menu items. I mean they completely redesign the the way the menu looks, including the paper it is printed on, while also taking off all menu items that originally made the place unique, such as the Duck Burger, the Krispy Kreme Burger, and the San Fran Chicken Sandwich. Secondly, their fried pickles are cut so thin, that you can barely bite into them. What I mean by that is they are breaded in a really tasty, spicy batter & fried, but when you bite through that, the prosciutto-thin pickle slice slides right out. It’s as if they only use 1 average-sized pickle to fill an entire basket of fries. An expensive place like this should not skimp on their pickles. If they need a lesson in making tasty fried pickles, while also slicing them thin, they should walk a few blocks down to The Row. Lastly, MCT always has a special«drink of the day» showcased on the chalkboards on each side of the bar, which is great! But whenever I go to the bartender and ask for the drink of the day by it’s name, they look at me like I’m crazy and ask me to explain what I’m talking about. Then I point at the chalkboard and they say«Ohhh. I have no idea. Let me ask». So then, of course, somebody has to come over and teach them how to make that drink and they take their time doing a little taste test of the drink so that the bartender can then explain to me what the drink is. This has happened to me multiple times! Yesterday, the bartender made a face as if she hated the drink after tasting it &THEN tried to sell it to me. Ridiculous! Their bartenders should figure out how to make the drink special before their shift begins each day. These are just some little things that clearly separate MCT from The«Always Classy» Patterson House.

A Big City(original Tippler is in Manhattan) transplant hits Nashville. Nice, upscale place with good Scotch and Draft beer. Upmarket Nashville crowd. For sure the nicest lounge I have been to here. The bathroom has a special foot pedal door opener. That is an original touch and worth noting. Well worth keeping this place in mind. Next time I would like to chill out at one of the outside patio tables.

If there ever was proof that Nashville has changed, it’s the Music City Tippler. The crowd, the concept, heck, even the neighborhood… back when I first lived in Nashville, none of this would have existed or made sense. But this is now and this is… OMG Taylor Swift! So, I get it and I embrace it. Nashville is all grown up and the world is starting to see what a rad place it is to live… and grab a drink. There are many places now in Nashville to find cool kids. It just depends on what kind of cool kid you’re looking for. Natives? Southern transplants? Los Angelinos? NYcers? Trust fund babies? ‘Artists’? Artists? You get the point. Here at the Music City Tippler, the cool kid crowd(at least while I was here) skewed more east coast(to be expected) and star-gazing. The layout makes sense, the décor is inviting(more than that; it’s gorgeous and sexy) and the drinks are good. I had an early morning ahead of me, so rather than sitting around and gazing at all the pretty as I went down the entire cocktail list, I opted for a sangria. Red wine, rum and fruit will always be a good idea. I was hopeful for some late night bites but, for some reason, they weren’t available. We weren’t there *that* late but I also wasn’t heading up the negotiations with the waitress. The place wasn’t *that* packed but she seemed pretty harried. Again, I was leaving after one drink and was too distracted by everything else going on there to pay much attention to any service woes. It just means I need to come back for more cocktails… and much more pretty.

Upon entering Music City Tippler in Nashville’s Midtown, I thought to myself, this place, contrary to many of the very Country bars on Nashville’s Broadway, could do well in NYC. Well, go figure, it’s actually sisters to NYC’s very own Tippler that I reviewed months ago. So, it was no surprise that I liked the place. You can notice similar aesthetics in the décor, the bar, and the cocktails. Country music not particularly your thing? No problem, because you won’t hear much, or any, of that here. Playing hip-hop, top 40, and some club bangers, the vibe here takes you outside of Nashville, but keeps you around all the sweetness and politeness. Ideal, right? To drink, I had their Del Rio(Vida Mezcal, St. Germain, lemon, maple, The Bitter End BBQ Bitters). Mezcal never really seems to disappoint me, and certainly didn’t in this drink either. You definitely get the smokiness, which is pushed further with the BBQ bitters, but then a nice sweetness from the elderflower and maple.

After a friend’s birthday dinner, we decided to check out Tippler to top the night off with class. It was certainly that, with well-dressed, beautiful Nashvillians talking up strangers and ordering expensive cocktails. The drinks were reasonably priced, and they even had a few specials on a Saturday night! $ 5 drafts, $ 8 mixed drinks, and $ 10 fancy cocktails, I’m a happy camper! It would be a great place to take someone visiting Nashville, as it’s not bogged down with tourists, although it gets PACKED past 10pm. Better to take your friends than a date, I would recommend Music City Tippler to anyone wanting a nice bar experience.

This bar reminded me of a bar I would find in LA, so don’t go here expecting a unique Nashville experience, but it was definitely a cool vibe(being from CA I really enjoyed it but we didn’t stay long since we wanted to see Nashville). They have great beers on tap, modern feel, a lower level that has a second bar and dance floor.

Gorgeous new bar, decent spirits list, helpful staff. A little«hipster meets country chic» vibe here. When we were here I sort of felt like it was a bit of a tourist trap, but the food and drink selection was nice and it was swankier than other bars and restaurants I visited on my trip. There was definitely a ton of attention paid to the décor and every detail here. Heck, I think you even have to be good looking to work here! But I suppose that’s all a part of the experience. The space is cool, the employees are cool, and so you feel cool. Plenty of room for small groups, large groups, private parties, or just a nook to snuggle up in with a date for a drink and a bite. If Portland and Beverly Hills had a baby, it’d be at Nashville at Music City Tipler. Hip, but almost to the point that it felt like they were trying just a smidge too hard.

Thanks to the Unilocal event and the generous people at the Tippler, I had a gift card to spend. Lo and behold, my friend arranged a happy hour there for another friend’s birthday. Opportunity to spend and check the place out? I am in! So I got there at around 5 pm and it was pretty dead except for our group. The main bar area has a lot of tables to choose from, so if you get there at happy hour you are likely to have your pick. Once I was seated it was time to pick my drink. I already knew they had moscow mules so I chose a Tito’s vodka version. Our waiter was a doll — totally chatty, he knew his booze, and we talked quite a bit about the house made ginger beer and my favorite store bought ginger beer to make them with at home.(It is Goya by the way… if anyone knows where I can get the Goya ginger beer around here you should holla at me since I’ve been ordering it on Amazon…) I tried another drink after that with cucumber and gin and other things. Both drinks were great. We also tried a sampling of food. The hummus was deemed«spicy» by some at our table which just shows you how people’s tolerable spice levels differ because I thought it was just«flavorful». The crab cakes were nice for an appetizer. My favorite things were the mac and cheese(um, VELVEETA, BACON, and peas — that’s all A-OK with me!) and the chicken biscuit. A few at our table didn’t like the chicken biscuit because of the tomato jam, but I am always a fan of sweet plus savory so I dug it. We also had Tippler chips which were just homemade chips perfect for munching while drinking and talking. Overall I found the experience to be a great one. It is a nice place, somewhat swanky in décor and ambiance. Not my normal dirty dive that I love, but a great change of pace. Plus I got to treat the birthday girl with part of my gift card so it must have brought out the nice girl in me. And that so rarely happens… Tip of the hat to you Tippler!

The Tippler has a very smooth Al Capone style to it. The Roaring ‘20s have some nostalgic appeal, and this place has done a fantastic job of recreating that feeling and that appeal — but in Nashville and not New York or Chicago. The ambiance for a good drink, a night out with a significant other, or just an encounter with a flapper are all present at the Tippler. The bartenders do very well from premium cocktails, to beer and wine. Additionally there is a menu that goes beyond small bites and into the realm of hearty enough to make it a drink at the Tippler, food at the Tippler, and then finish it off with more drinks at the Tippler to complete your evening. There is a coat check and a valet. People will be dressed to the 9s and others will be in jeans and a hipster t-shirt. They take all types at the Tippler — including you.

Absolutely loved the food. I was impressed how big the place was. It was my first time so I didn’t realize it was so swanky and huge inside. Our server was great and took good care of us. He also told us about the menu and tips on what to order when we come back. He was very efficient on letting us know our drinks would be out soon and to assure us he was taking care of us. I was super impressed and the manager came out to greet us and tell us about the restaurant. He was really genuine and made me feel like he appreciated us. Did I mention everything I had was awesome(chicken biscuit, mac n cheese bites, bruschetta)? I’ll definitely be back!

This bar was needed and it’s obvious that other agree with me because the times that I’ve been there, it’s been packed. The age group seems to be young professionals, mid-late 20’s to 30’s. I love nice cocktails but the whole«excuse me while I go grow a lemon tree» thing grates me. Tippler manages to turn out quality drinks, fast. We visited when it was slammed and I pulled out the«make me something with Fernet» card and they delivered, fast. To me that is the definition of a good cocktail bar: quality concoctions that don’t take all night to mix.

So many friends had raved about the Tippler, and I was really looking forward to trying it now that the grand opening crowds have subsided. I went last night(just for drinks – no food), but unfortunately, I can’t give the Tippler more than 3 stars. I’ll lead off by acknowledging that I’m a drink snob. If I’m going to pay a premium price for a cocktail, I expect it to have premium ingredients, premium preparation, and premium taste – and my standards are somewhat exacting. The menu told me that the Tippler would do reasonably well on the first criterion, with most of the core spirits of the $ 20-$ 30 per bottle variety you wouldn’t be ashamed to put in your own liquor cabinet. Unfortunately, when it came to preparation and taste, I was underwhelmed. I tried two drinks – their variation on the Mule, and the Black Manhattan. Both were decent, but nothing to write home about. With fancy drinks, I enjoy savoring the complexity of flavors, particularly if they change over time. Unfortunately, both of these drinks just tasted flat and no better than something I’d concoct at home. On the plus side, the bartenders were friendly and attentive. On the minus side, despite it being a Wednesday night, the bar area was crawling with young people acting young.(UGH, I sound like an old man.) My issue with it was that it took away from the ambience; you have a place with a posh interior and fancy drinks, and a bunch of folks acting like they’re at the Tin Roof. Oh, and the bar only has back-less stools, so after a while my back got sore.(Yes, now I REALLY sound like an old man.) Anyway, in fairness, I know they have other rooms, so I probably should have just gravitated that direction. I ended up going to Patterson House after I left, and I was night-and-day more satisfied – and for about the same price, too. Between the selection, the ambience, and the flavor profiles, Patterson House flat-out wins. Like I said, I really wanted to love the Tippler, but at the end of the day it was just okay.

My boyfriend and I tried the Tippler the first week it opened and I was very impressed with the décor as well as the speakeasy vibe. We went for drinks before dinner and they weren’t terrible but I am a huge Patterson house fan and the Tippler does not compare. After visiting again last night with a group for a friends birthday I was a little confused. We walked over from boundary and see a group of people waiting outside and a bouncer at the door. We were told we would have to wait unless we had reservations. Luckily my friend reserved a table so we were able to go right in. Once we were seated with our party it was 20 minutes before we saw a waiter and another 20 before we got our drinks. I felt like I needed to order 5 things every time I saw him because I didn’t know when he would be back again. Towards the end of the night we gave up our table and walked around the bar a bit. We looked to our right and there was Nashville star, Sam Palladio«Gunner» posted at the bar, so that was a plus. There are three levels. The top level is cozy and has a shuffle board table but it only took change so no one was really playing. There was also a tv and couch which was nice. The middle level is somewhat of a dining room feel while the bottom level has a club vibe. Overall I liked the Tippler and they played great music. The drinks are a bit pricey for what they are but still good. After a certain time I think it turns into more of a club than a bar so if you’re not into that go early. I didn’t like the whole bouncer at the door and feeling like I was on 2nd ave but it still turned out to be a great night. I would go again before dinner but not for dinner.

*Special shout out to my pal @iamfacemelter at the end of this review. You don’t say? A little slice of NYC all the way in Nashville? Awesome! The Tippler is quite the destination in Manhattan, but since I rarely spend time in MPD, I’m about as far from a regular as you could find. But what a nice surprise to see them holding down the cocktail game in the middle of the Bible Belt. The space is huge — perhaps one of the largest cocktail forward bars I’ve seen in my life. You could seriously fit an auto dealership within their four walls. On the drink side of things, they deliver the goods. Some old standbys you’d recognize(Old Fashioned, for instance), as well as some libations you’ll only find at Music City Tippler. Who’d-a-thunk that gin and Bulliet Rye would go well together? Well, it does. If you’re curious, dial up one of their Old Flirty Bastards and try it for yourself. Back to the above asterisk — we made pals with one of the bartenders and he agreed to make us a Music City Tippler version of a Fireball shot. I quite enjoyed mine. My pal @iamfacemelter — not so much. As quick as the moonshine went down, he had a «reversal of fortune» come right back up. But have no fear — not a drop hit the fancy floors of le Tippler. Instead, it all ended up in my dirty blond hair. That’s why my pals call me Ruggy«Shamwow» J, I suppose…

Trouble. This is trouble wrapped in a beautiful cocktail glass. The bartenders at Tippler were at the bartender bash event a couple weeks ago and after loving their cocktails and talking to the extremely friendly bartenders, I just had to come back to try out the full experience. It did not disappoint. Can we PLEASE talk about how good the vodka mule is(my favorite part is that it is served in a copper cup as it should be). I could seriously drink a vat of those things. I mean wow. Some other favorites; «I’m not bitter» and the«slow and low» was really tasty if you enjoy whiskey(they dabbled with infusions!). The first night I was here there was a bachelorette party dressed up in flapper attire and seriously fit perfectly in the tippler! I felt a bit out of place in my blue jeans simply because the space is SO lovely and most of the bar is old and beautiful. We spoke with the owner a bit and he was very friendly and you can tell he really cares about this business! The tippler was so great I came back the next night on Friday to experience it again and it was packed! If they keep this up I see this being a great success in Nashville. I know I will be back for that sweet sweet vodka mule.

I HEART The Tippler. YES. I. DO. Having experienced the The Tippler( ) in Chelsea which happens to be one of my fave neighborhoods in NYC, I was elated to hear that their second location was going to be in our fair city. And, this is a shoutout to all of my New York homies who guffawed and snorted 5 years ago when I announced that I’d be movin’ down South instead of back to «The City…» How do you like me now my friends? YES. My «home» Nashville is the shit. Ooopsie, sorry about that tangent… it was the whiskey talking. Back to the Music City Tippler! I was lucky enough to attend a «Friends & Family soft opening» a few weeks before the official opening and was wowed by the complete transformation of the space located on the ground floor of The Adelicia. I really appreciate how they carved out different nooks throughout that would appeal to the different energy from their patrons. You may find a casual crowd relaxing on the patio or playing shuffle board in the loft area or if you want to «seen in the scene,» pony on up to the gorgeous main bar frames the entire space and is certainly the epicenter of all activity. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, may I suggest strutting your stuff down the stairs to a more intimate bar area to enjoy a more chill vibe along with the option of some live entertainment on the small stage area. This happened to also be the location where GQ& Bombay Sapphire recently hosted«The Most Imaginative Bartender Competition» recently. I don’t know who I paid off in a previous life but your girl here hosted the event and it was literally one of the most fun experiences I have had the pleasure of having in a long time! The entire Tippler team were super professional and oh, so, accommodating. Throw in a a myriad of crafty cocktails, brews, wines, and a more extensive menu than what their East Coast locale offers(I do enjoy rubbing that it, don’t I?)… and you have the makings of a stellar establishment that will make our city proud. From swanky ladies in cocktail dresses to a rugged fella in a rock and roll tee shirt, you can find anyone who appreciates their version of the good life here. From the grand entrance that leads to a modern vintage-y lounge area to the kitschy little photobooth tucked away upstairs, The Tippler boasts much depth in their character. And, as someone who hosts, produces, and sponsors events, it is refreshing to not only have a fabulous time hanging out with my friends at this spot but to also be able to genuinely say that I have enjoyed working with their team as well? Now, that is something to cheers to! TIP: Order their Moscow Mule. Just. Do. It. TIP2: Street parking is available but valet is the way to go!
