Stopped in for dinner with my wife, no reservation, but got space at the bar! Loved the cocktails, great food, great space! Shout out to Will our bartender and Nicole at the front desk, thanks for the recommendations! Will be back

Had some chill brunch here. The croque madame was solid and the fries were crispy, the way i like them. If you want to impress your date, bring them here and order expensive stuff.

The cocktails were fantastic, food was fantastic, and our server Jen was wonderful! The ambiance is perfect for brunch or a romantic dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

Had a really fantastic dinner here during our visit to Nashville. We has heard of Le Sel through a friend and made reservations the week before to ensure we could give it a try. We started with cocktails, at the bar while our table was being prepared. They were delicious, not too sweet and just the right blend of flavors. You could tell the bartender had put a high level of attention and craft into each drink. For starters we ordered the escargot and oysters to share. The oysters were great considering Nashville’s proximity to water(we live in Seattle and San Francisco where we are spoiled with seafood). They tasted fresh and delicious. The escargot dish had great flavor but we were a slightly disappointed with the amount of escargot in the actual dish. My friend ordered the steak frites and I ordered the half chicken dish. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. The potato purée that came with the chicken was dense with flavor and the piece of steak that I tried was also good. For desert we ordered this chocolate pot du crème thing with a french press. It was super rich but fantastic to split. Our waiter was kind enough to recommend we go to their sister location called The Patterson House(we did, it was amazing).

Beautiful restaurant, great customer service, and a really cool hip/upscale atmosphere. The appetizers were a dream. I honestly wanted to order three of them, but I limited myself to two. I had the foie gras and steak tar tar. They were both amazing. For dinner I had the«Pot au Feu» and dear God wow it was great. Robust flavors and great ingredients. For my first time here I left thoroughly pleased. Two thumbs up and five stars for this hidden gem.

We can’t here for dinner, but all I’m going to write about is the French onion soup because it is to DIE for. And you probably will die because of the amount of cheese it has. But you’ll die a great death. I’ve tried to find French onion soups comparable to the soup from my favorite bistro when I studied abroad and alas, I have found it here. The taste and flavors are impeccable and the amount of cheese and soaked bread are perfect. Absolute favorite thing I got. Also very filling, I shared this with my boyfriend just so I wouldn’t fill up before our main courses arrived. Can’t wait to try the brunch!

We went on a Saturday night around 10pm and the bar had a great crowd. Very unique mix of people. Nice selection of craft cocktails & interesting menu. Awesome spot for dinner or cocktails with friends, or an intimate party of 2.

Went on a Friday night, 5 in our party, reservation for 9pm. Daaaaaaang this place was great. I look forward to many more visits here in the future, for sure a date place, this visit was a group of friends who love to try things and share so we definitely tried A LOT of things. The vibe was solid, great eclectic music selection, not too dark or too bright, there were plenty of people there but was not loud at all. Started with a great sparkling wine. Oysters were the first started we tried. Got 4 varieties, presentation was great and the sauces were killer, could have done those as shooters. Prepared excellently. Then out came shrimp, the ratatouille, salmon spread and marrow. All were excellent. Stand out was the marrow. Tim, the Sommelier, offered excellent recommendations for both the starter course and the main. Mains we had the roasted half chicken, the skate, mussels and frites, and squash. The fries were excellent and I can see why so many people have commented on excellent they are. Everything was prepared well, no excellently. The standout was the chicken, wow, the texture, the flavor, the jus lead to a pretty intense and funny discussion of the hardest thing to prepare well, this is one of those things for sure. The Pinot noir recommended for dinner was also great. The after dinner Averna was a great end. We finished the night with a cocktail downstairs, everyone loved their drinks, made very well. Great atmosphere. Solid evening for sure. Looking forward to the next visit.

Le Sel is a great addition to Midtown! I’ve been twice for dinner and enjoyed it both times. However, there are a few kinks they need to work out before it is a perfect experience. We sat at the raw bar on our first visit, and had a seafood platter with oysters, shrimp, king crab legs, and salmon rillete aka salmon dip. It was all fantastic! The crab legs were flown in fresh and HUGE. I loved the assortment of dips and butters to use with the seafood and was pretty stuffed afterwards. It turned out to be a good thing because there was a slight mishap with the waiter and we had to leave before our entrees were brought out. Trip two we sat at the drink bar and ordered off the regular dinner menu. My appetizer, the ham and egg, was out of this world good. I loved it so much and would encourage everyone to get it. It was so interesting and delicious at the same time. The french onion soup was also fantastic and worth ordering. My entrée was the classic bouillabaisse and my companion had the roasted half chicken. The bouillabaisse was not my favorite. The seafood was fresh and good, but the broth was a bit strange and not my cup of tea. I wouldn’t order it again or recommend it. The roasted chicken was delicious though and I stole bites from my bf. Overall, I really enjoy Le Sel and am definitely going to come back. I really want to try brunch sometime and look forward to exploring more of the menu!

Disclaimer — I’m unable to rate this ‘5 stars’ since my experience was from the bar. :womp: Got a rec. for this restaurant from Thrillist. Here goes: Ambiance: I’m a sucker for ‘corn rows and manicured toes’ …and restaurants with very detailed interiors. So I loved this place. From the bathroom — the copper sinks and faucets complemented by the dark metals and subway tiles to the bunch of lavender hung from the sconces. Loved! In the dining area were varied art mediums that were played off one another — Win. Then there’s the pebble-tiled bar. Customer Service: The bartender was very attentive(as a waiter) since there was no reservations available. Fortunately it wasn’t crowded but whom I spoke with was very clear that they were«fully committed to the reservations made in advance» — it’s always good to hear, no? Bartender sorta kinda guided me w. questions. Food(& drink): I got the Buttercup Squash and realized after the food came, that I didn’t really know what to expect — but I wasn’t hungry and squash is goo-oo-ood! No disappointments here! This was the 1st time I was sad to see all the onions go. There were glazed carrots, trumpet shrooms and even pumpkin seeds — and at least I think that’s what they were. Oh and this glaze that was heavenly! (& drink): I ordered the Saint Chamond w. Gin.(+Pear Brandy, Lemon, Hibiscus, Sparkling Wine) — and woah boy! no games here. And again the presentation — the garnishing was the perfect touch. .oh Complimentary Valet — and let’s hear it for the valet attendant that literally RAN to get my car. You’re a great man. Yes you are.

I like close by and I was waiting anxiously for the opening. I had brunch and we had to wait over 40 minutes for a tartine, that it was a little bit burnt. Anyways, I ordered the mussels with fries and it was delicious, very generous portions. My boyfriend ordered the steak and he really liked it. I decided to visit them again, and I waited maybe for 30 min for the entrees. I think they are still working on their system. I loved the decoration and the ambiance, it is a refreshing place here in Nashville, good french style overall. Our waiter was dedicated both times; however, as I mentioned, they need to work on kitchen timing.

Upon reading the reviews, I wish I could have loved this restaurant a lot more, however I wasn’t as «wow”-ed as a lot of other people were. My best girl friends and I decided to brunch today and decided on Le Sel. There were no open seats around 12:30pm but the hostess was very accommodating and told us about the bar seats. We sat at the raw bar and received full service. Our server was very sweet but our food came out extremely slow. Luckily we had a lot to catch up on but it took what felt about 45 minutes. My friends ordered the quiche and the french toast and I got the steak frites. The steak was good but I wasn’t extremely dazzled by it. The french fries were pretty amazing. Their pineapple mimosa was good but their peach bellini better. Overall it was a decent meal and the atmosphere was cute but a little loud. I would recommend it but not super high on my recommended list.

My husband took me to Le Sel for my birthday brunch. The space is very open and they got the«French» feeling down pat. The music was great, even the bathrooms were beautiful, and the décor is tasteful. They serve Crema coffee, which is delicious. I had a fresh-squeezed orange juice, and it tasted super fresh and natural. We started with an apple tartine, which tasted like an apple pie right out of the oven on a thin layer of hard crust. It was incredible! For my entrée, I had the quiche with chard and leeks. I don’t know how they got the egg and cheese part to be so smooth, it basically melted in my mouth. It was served with a simple salad that went with it beautifully. My husband had the poached eggs with cured artic char; he didn’t read the menu closely enough because he’s not a fan of fish with breakfast. So, he didn’t love it, but that was more his error for not reading closely enough to realize what it was. I tasted it and thought it was good. We really enjoyed our brunch and will definitely go back for dinner. Le Sel is a great addition to Nashville’s growing food scene!

Not the typical major splurge of a French restaurant. But that doesn’t mean you’re not getting an incredibly delicious French meal. Greeted warmly at the door we were taken to a beautiful table near the glass windows. Starting off the meal with oysters… Two types… we were hooked. I could’ve eaten 100 of them. The bowl and presentation was beautiful. A delicious vinegar type sauce to drizzle on it if interested. We all enjoyed French onion soup which could not have been better. Crispy croutons and season to perfection. The ratatouille was thinly sliced tomatoes, various zucchinis and squash, and eggplant. A perfect dish to share or to just enjoy yourself. The steak frites was perfectly done and seasoned to perfection. The thin fries that came with them were delish!!! We also enjoyed a vegetarian squash dish accompanied by trumpet mushrooms — well done! But the dessert! Apple tar taine served over a caramelized crust and creame fraiche ice cream– although full it was polished off. Service was attentive with water glasses refilled nearly a dozen times. Initially our servicer seemed a little flat but she did end up coming to life. Love what they did with this restaurant. Landy I read did the remodel and it is fabulous. Love the fresh seafood bar– regular bar in main restaurant –downstairs sitting area/bar with comfy chairs. Upstairs a nice area to rent for a private meeting or party– thinking it seats 25ish? And the bathroom is clearly French– well designed. Overall great job! Well done on all counts. And you aren’t giving away your last dollar — surprisingly moderately priced.

We were visiting family for the holidays and decided to check out this place for the after Thanksgiving meal out. And we were pleasantly surprised by our choose. We ordered Grand Seafood Platier for the start and honestly had the best oysters we’ve ever eaten in Nashville. We are quite spoiled by great seafood in SF and LA, but the raw bar here was just outstanding — fresh, flavorful and delicious. I loved Alaskan King Crab and even re-ordered it for the main course. Also I added mashed potatoes to it and was very happy with my meal. My husband had Hudson Valley Duck Breast which was very delicious too. Perfectly cooked meat was soft and moister enough and tasted more like steak than poultry.

I finally had Le Sel for the first time today, and couldn’t wait to race over to write a review – I LOVED it! For starters, for anyone who visited the location prior to its transformation, you’ll immediately see a total 180(from the previous occupant, Music City Tippler). The aesthetic is light and airy and sophisticated. My friend I dined with immediately said«I feel like I’m in New York!» It definitely emits a vibe unlike any other in Nashville. For lunch, I went with the three course meal(a bargain at $ 24) — the best french onion soup(rich and great flavor, perfect croutons and a great proportion of cheese: croutons: soup), a BLT(I’ll get to that in a minute), and apple tartine. The BLT was unreal. The thickest bacon I’ve ever seen, sandwiched between two slices of buttery, flaky croissant – accompanied by juicy marinated tomatoes and a house mayo/garlic situation that was fantastic. SUCH a great sandwich. Dessert was the apple tartine, partnered with a vanilla-esque ice cream – and it was good, but not ultimately my favorite sweet ever by any stretch. My friend had oysters and the Bibb salad and loved it all. Service was fantastic, environment was amazing – can’t wait to go back for drinks and dinner! Love this place. Definitely recommend.

Whoever designed this place killed it. The bubblegum pink velvet booths are as beautiful as they are comfortable. The red yarn sculptural pieces in the entry and descending the steps were beautiful focal points. Basically, I would love to live in a place this cool. As far as the food goes, every singe one of the entrees was something I could see myself ordering. With that said, I don’t think I made the best decision with the Crispy Pork. Our waiter talked it up, and it wasn’t my favorite dish, but my husband couldn’t stop stealing bites. The pork shoulder was slow cooked and shredded then rolled into a log and fried. I found the meat to be a bit under-seasoned, but the crispy coating was great. The pork was served over lentils with raw turnips to give it some earthiness. The lentils were great but a little over-seasoned. When you got a bite of it all together, it was pretty good. My husband ordered the Steak Frites and loved both the steak and the frites. It was a straightforward dish done well. On my next visit, I would order seafood. I think that it will take a little bit of time for Le Sel to get their staff and kitchen running like clockwork. I’m looking forward to returning for lunch, and I would definitely come back for dinner.

We were visiting Nashville for the weekend and friends who lived there made arrangements to meet here for dinner. They told us Le Sel was pretty new, but they had heard good things about it. We were glad they steered us into this beautiful and well run restaurant. We started with some great house designed drinks. I had a vodka drink with some citrus and it was the perfect combo of tart with a touch of sweet. For dinner I had the Bouillabaisse which was with grouper, mussels and shrimp in a light broth and great crostini to soak up the sauce. Wife had the steak and frites. Steak was cooked to perfection and the fries were fried potato perfection. Thin and crispy with the right amount of salt. For dessert we all shared the apple tart with homemade vanilla ice cream. Simple, but perfectly made with light crispy crust and cooked cinnamon apples. Le Sel was a delightful dinner, great service and wonderful atmosphere.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I came here for a business lunch and in my reservation notes, I had noted that we would like an area that was quieter. When I walked in, we were greeted warmly and they mentioned that they had provided a larger table for us away from others for our meeting. I loved how they read my notes and made it a priority when picking where to seat us. Our waiter was very kind and started off with half a dozen Wellfleet oysters that come out in this awesome silver round bowl/platter. I don’t know what it would be called but it was fancy. I squeezed mine with lemon and was very pleased. They were kind and brought out horseradish and crackers when we requested them. For our mains, we all ordered different items from the roasted half chicken, seared striped bass, and croque madame. The croque madame was so pretty and plated so very well. It comes with broadbent smoke ham, greyere, egg, and ornay. My bass came with shaved fennel salad, pistou, and fingerling potatoes. I would have preferred a bit more fennel salad with my bass so balance the dish. The chicken came with brussels spouts, glazed onions, and chicken jus. The truffle garlic fries are a winner! I highly recommend ordering those. The ambience is the BEST! Open air, white walls, an awesome blushing pink couch for seating, and poppy art. I loved it. I felt like I had been transported to another place and I thank the Goldberg brothers for making this space some alive. I loved seeing cute couples eating lunch together. The staff was super friendly. I also think the clientele is as well. A guy sitting at the bar heard my colleague wanting crackers and horseradish and he relayed the message to the bartender. I love when other people are watching out for you. I will definitely be coming back here a lot! I can’t wait to try other items on the menu. Don’t come here if you’re in a rush. Make sure to allot plenty of time to have fun, enjoy the food, and take in the great space!

This review is for the bar, as we did not eat upstairs. We had some of the cocktails, and let me tell you that the drink I had was fantastic. I cannot remember the name and the website didn’t have a drink menu that I saw. Something priest or monk. At any rate, my GF had a sazerac and we grabbed a foie gras macaroons of end the night. First off, the macaroon melts in your mouth, the salt and fat just taste amazing. The were made very well, even though the place was new the bartenders knew what to do, and they were very outgoing and made it fun for us to have some drinks. If you live here, you already know to go here. If you are in town visiting, this is worth going out of yr way to drink at. Judging by some of the food I saw, it is worth going out of your way to eat at as well.
