We used Tamara J Events for our son’s wedding at the end of last year, and are extremely happy with that decision. We decided to look for a wedding planner when we realized that we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the big day so much, if we were busy working the entire time … She out did herself on the day of, and everything was above and beyond what we had dreamed. Her invaluable help BEFORE the big day was more than we expected. Tamara did the flowers for the wedding and they were absolutely gorgeous, along with all the decorating. She also helped us have more than we ever imagined with our budget. Everyone raved over the food, thanks to her amazing contacts and vendors, and I had several people come up to me and tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they’d been to. We went into this not really knowing what to expect, she held our hands the entire process and made us feel at ease, we couldn’t be more grateful.

Tamara is a true gem! She helped us plan our daughter’s wedding in September. Besides having a small army of contacts with goods and services we never knew existed; she also provided us with so many wonderful ideas that made for a beautiful wedding day for our daughter. We simply let Tamara do her thing and it was well worth it. Our guests could not stop commenting on what a wonderful time they had. I would suggest her to anyone planning a large event. I believe she is truly the best! Our families have remained friends even after the wedding as she cares very much about her bride’s and groom’s. Tamara is by far THE best!

I was hoping things would have been resolved so I could write a more positive review, but since I have not heard from Tamara, I guess this will have to do.
We booked Tamara to help plan our wedding at City Hall and 25 Lusk for February 2015. I had already booked the venues, but since we were moving to the East Coast just prior to the wedding, my fiancé and I decided that having a planner assist with the little details and ‘day of’ organization, she would help keep us sane.
Overall it was a beautiful wedding. City Hall is an amazing place to get married, and San Francisco is a wonderful backdrop for a destination wedding. 25 Lusk provided a delicious meal with excellent service.
To begin with, there were a few small detail problems from Tamara. She was late to City Hall (my fiancé and I were doing photos before the ceremony to ensure we had enough time) so when we first got there we did not know where to go. Luckily our amazing photographer was there to help us. Tamara did my flowers, and she dropped them off to my mother about 15 minutes later. The first thing we noticed with the bouquet, it was a bit wilted. Luckily this did not show up in any of our photographs. Following our ceremony she disappeared. None of us knew where we were going/​the plan. Again we had to rely on our photographer to help guide us to the 4^th floor for additional pictures.
We held our reception at 25 Lusk in their private dining room and the room was breathtaking. The flowers were gorgeous and the room sparkled with candles. However, one of the first things I noticed was that the menu that was on every place setting was not my name (Kirsty), instead it was ‘Kristy’. Then I noticed that none of the name cards were placed at the settings. This is when Tamara told me that she could not open the attachment I sent her two weeks previously. Why would you wait until the day of to open an attachment? So myself and a few friends started working on the place settings. She had not separated them from the sheet and folded them. That is when I noticed another problem. We were short a place setting. We arranged for 26 people, plus a high chair. There were only 25. Luckily 25 Lusk is professional and efficient so the problem was rectified quickly.
At the end of the night my husband and I stayed behind to pay the bill. This is when we noticed it was much more than what we talked about and budgeted for. At this point Tamara told me that she had to make a «day of decision and judgement call». Her day of decision was $ 500 plus tax! She booked the alcove outside of our room for our hors d’œuvre service. The second issue had to do with the hors d’oeuvres. We had arranged through Tamara to be charged for their four-​course meal. She informed us that because we were bringing our own cake, that in lieu of the dessert course, that we could supplement that for some hors d’oeuvres. She had said that she had done this previously with them. We followed her suggestion, as we were only going to do a three-​course meal, and no hors d’oeuvres. Well, what she said she was arranging and what ended up being was another cost of over $ 600.
We started emailing her the Monday after our wedding. It is now three months later and we have received multiple different excuses/​reasons as to why we were charged for the hors d’oeuvres. We have asked for a refund for $ 500, even though it does not come close to all the additional expenses caused by her. It is frustrating because I know had I done all the arranging myself, the final bill would not have been an additional $ 1500.00, and we would have saved what we spent on her fee.
Overall it was a beautiful wedding, but at this point I would not recommend her service base on our experience.

We researched and interviewed several planners, but booked Tamara as soon as we met her. We loved her spunky yet warm personality and it was clear that she was a go-​getter from the get-​go.
We hired her for day of/​month of coordination. Our expectation was that she would not enter the picture until a few weeks before our wedding day as most planners do for this level of service.
Tamara really cares about her brides and her events, so she invested much more time than we ever expected her to in helping our day go off without a hitch. She took our vision for our wedding and expanded on it and helped us save money along the way. By the end of it, we really felt that she had paid for herself.
She was there for us throughout the process and worked harder than anyone else the weekend of our wedding. From giving our guests directions, to organizing the vendors… No task was too big or too small. She tackled them all and was the last one to leave on our wedding day.
She was worth her weight in gold. We’d definitely hire her again to help us with future events! Love her!

Tamara has her style and that is why we we’re excited to contract her for her work with a wedding we styled in June in Napa. She is a known and established Napa and Sonoma region Wedding Planner, but most importantly she has «her» business style, she is knowledgeable, assertive and makes it happen. I would recommend her professionally … anytime.

Tamara helped me find my voice & taste while we were planning my wedding. On our first phone call, she picked the perfect color palette for our wedding. Within a week, she introduced me to Pinterest for inspiration & made me a board. I had not visualized or planned the big day growing up so she was starting with a blank canvas. Tamara provided feedback & suggestions on anything we asked for including above & beyond requests such as a tip schedule, a conference call with the MOB about wedding shower anxiety, groom’s gift ideas & more. A family member took a last minute trip out to Sonoma — Tamara arranged visits with all of our vendors, the venue, etc. & knocked her socks off! My husband & I are business professionals, planners & list makers — she operated in our task master environment as effortlessly as she did with the creative vendors. Tamara matched us with vendors that fit our wallet AND our personalities. This made the event that much more spectacular. Tamara planned our wedding & rehearsal dinner — she was our Sonoma expert since we planned a destination wedding to a destination we had never been to — & she gave us the gift of a lifetime. She thought of details we did not — she brought wraps to the reception for the ladies who were cold, & orchids to the rehearsal dinner for centerpieces & more. Tamara was professional, responsive, friendly, understanding & firm — which is exactly what I needed. She even negotiated down the rate of the site fee for our venue after we had chosen it! She makes the day/​event/​etc. about you & your groom. She anticipates guest personalities & flexes to many styles. I cannot say enough wonderful things about her & her talent. If you calculate the value you receive for the time & effort Tamara spends making your day unforgettable — she is a bargain. I would recommend Tamara to any bride who wants a wedding planner who can take charge, help her navigate through the all of the planning noise & has personality to spare!

My husband and I tied the knot last Sunday at the Vezer Family Blue Victorian in Fairfield, CA. Our wedding day was a huge success largely because of Tamara Jones– thank goodness for her!!!
We thought we had finished planning most of our wedding back in the beginning of May, and realized that it would be beneficial to bring on some help with coordination as the day approached. We found Tamara on
and were very pleased with the initial impression she made on the phone. We had a two hour conversation about our wedding concept, her favorite moments as a wedding planner, and what she has done for couples in the past. She started helping us coordinate the wedding even before she sent us the invoice for the first payment. All she needed from us was a list of our vendors and contact information and she took the coordination from there.
It turned out that our flower concept needed some work, so she visited our florist on multiple occasions to make sure everything was being orchestrated correctly. She also worked tirelessly with our caterers on planning and execution. This was our caterer’s first event and from the guests’ standpoint, the plated food was delivered flawlessly, deliciously, and gracefully. Tamara helped us work with the space at our beautiful location to turn it into a venue that could fit our desired amount of guests comfortably. She also planned all of our lighting and decorations working with our favorite concepts via pinterest. She really tied our vendors together in a schedule that flowed well– although everyone knows that weddings never stay exactly on schedule or go exactly as planned. The most important concept to embrace on your big day is flexibility, and the ability to be completely present in the moment. Many things did not go as we had thought, but with Tamara on site, we didn’t have to worry about management of the issues that came up amongst the vendors. :)
Tamara has initiative and passion about planning weddings. She has the knowledge and experience to know what to do in case things do not go as planned on your big day. She works with vendors on communicating your desired concept for the wedding. Overall, her price for all of this effort is extremely reasonable when the help she gives you is priceless.

I was in search of a wonderful wedding planner and I found Tamara. She is a very pushy and outspoken person, which i was instantly drawn to. Given the fact that I am quiet and soft spoken I figured I needed someone like her. After hiring her to fully plan my wedding for $ 1200.00 she never responded timely to my emails or phone calls and when she did it was maybe a week or two later. Every vision that I had in regards to my wedding she didn’t agree with or did’nt like. I felt like she was planning her own wedding and not mine. This is my first and hopefully, only time getting married and I want things to be done my way. I would ask her to call venders with questions that I needed answers to, and it would take her over a week to do this. After stating to her how I felt about our relationship, with her not responding to my emails/​calls timely she sent me an email ending our contract. Yipeeeee! Yipeeeee! She refused to refund my deposit. I still had an amazing wedding with an incredible wedding planner. I am so grateful to have had Tamara as my planner! My wedding was perfect and just as I had imagined. She understood my vision and was able to see it through. It was beautiful and picture perfect. Everything went smoothly. I didn’t have to worry about a thing on my wedding day as I knew Tamara would take care of it all. During the week before my wedding, she coordinated everything with all of my vendors. I used her to consult with me in the planning process. She had some great ideas. I was trying to be budget minded for a wedding in wine county. She was very respectful of that and gave me good suggestions on trying to cut costs and what I should expect to pay for services. If a vendor was too high, I looked elsewhere, and ended up saving quite a bit of money. All of the vendors I chose worked out great. She is very high energy and knows what works and what doesn’t, and is not afraid to speak her mind. She runs a tight ship so we did not loose a minute of our wedding day. I feel she earned every dollar that I paid her. I couldn’t have done it without her!

I hired Tamara J. as a wedding «day of» coordinator in August 2008. She was absolutely fantastic!!! She provides full service planning or «a la cart» services, and she’s worth every affordable penny.
Her ideas were great and my wedding looked like something from a magazine when she added her special touches. She listened attentively to my concerns and needs and carried out everything I asked and more. She paid excellent attention to detail and she has just the right balance of assertiveness and aggression when dealing with other pushy vendors. She brought warmth and comfort during stressful planning times and she seemed like an old friend from the very first conversation.
My husband and I could not have had such a beautiful, smooth wedding day without her.
