Excellent place! The owner Terry is very knowledgeable and friendly. I took my car to change oil and a quick check up and he took care of it quickly and efficiently! I highly recommend!

Honest mechanic. I went in to get my squeaky brake pads replaced. Terry took a look at them to explain that the noise was no harm. He then showed me how to check the health of my pads and rotors. All for free! Very happy that he didn’t take advantage of me by replacing the brake pads like I thought was needed.

I’ve been taking my cars to Terry for about 15 years and won’t let anybody else mess with my car. He’s been extremely helpful, honest, and knowledgable. Two thumbs up.

Just called to ask if they worked on exhaust leaks. He proceeded to tell me it is due to broken engine mounts and the exhaust manifold was cracked, without getting any more information or even looking at the vehicle! I told him I already know where the leak is (flange between front pipe and manifold). I’ve had it diagnosed by a mechanic friend previously who hasn’t had time to help me fix the problem. I hung up the phone.

All Automotive has moved locations to Old Middlefield Road in Mountain View, right next to where it crosses over 101. Not as nice a location as the old place (Google and Intuit are buying up all those buildings…), but Terry is still just as awesome a mechanic.

A friend recommended Terry to me. So when my check engine light turned on, I took my car to him, and I was really impressed. He started working on it right away, and spent a couple hours on it. Turns out my EGR passageway was plugged up with carbon deposits. He explained the problem to me, walked me through the options and explained what it would take to clean it. He priced the total cost at $ 300 less than what my Dad had to pay for the same repair on his car. My car is old, and although the cost was reasonable, it was still more than ½ my car’s value. I explained the situation to him, he understood, and didn’t charge me for the labor he’d already done! Even after I offered to pay twice. I’ve never had a mechanic do that for me! Thanks Terry!

Apparently this guy thinks because I’m a woman I must be incompetent. I never brought my car here because I couldn’t get past the initial call. I have an unusual car and most people dont carry my oil filter so I was just trying to verify that he had it before I wasted time driving there. He was rude and treated me like I was dumb. Sorry, you won’t be getting my business with that attitude.

terry has been my mechanic for a decade, and i wouldnt trust my car, truck and in some cases even my motorcycle to anyone else. [ok, so i dont think he ever worked on the bike — but when my rims were wrecked at the dumbarton bridge he let me keep it there until i found a place i was willing to take it.]
he doesnt always know what he is doing! hell, no one does. most times he does. for the times he doesnt, though, i just keep in mind (as should we all) that these are vehicles, after all, and just like our doctors, the ‘expert’ doesnt always know whats wrong the first time around. however, any time ive had a problem that needed looking into more than once, the second time he has been more than fair when it came to charging me for his labor.

I’ve been going to Terry since 2004. In addition to all the positive comments that have already been said, I’d like to give some concrete examples of why he’s the best:
* He once made an after-​hours house call after my ex and I picked up his Jeep and smoke was coming out from under the hood. Even though it was a Friday night, he came over to the house to make sure everything was OK so that we could drive to Tahoe.
* When my brother (a college student at the time) got a flat tire, Terry patched his tire for free.
* Last year, he let me borrow his car over the weekend because my car wasn’t ready yet!
* Today, he changed my tail light and refused to let me pay for labor or parts and told me how he doesn’t charge his customers for something as easy as fixing a light bulb.
As a long time customer, I have always been 100% satisfied. If you’re looking for a good, honest mechanic, you can’t go wrong with Terry.

I high recommend All Automotive. Terry is extremely nice, the work is done really quickly, and the prices are reasonable. He explains what he wants to do and why, and if you need several things done and are short of cash, he’ll prioritize with you what needs to be done now and what can wait for a bit.
Usually when I call, Terry tells me to come straight down. He’s close to Google, LinkedIn, American Century, CPP, etc, so if you work at any of those it’s literally a 5 minute journey. The longest I’ve had to wait to get my car back is overnight, and that’s been when I’ve taken it in in the late afternoon. If I drop it off any time before about 11, I get it back the same day.
I’ve also actually learnt quite a lot about my car and how it works since I’ve been going to him, which is an added bonus :-) So if you want go not get ripped off, not be told unnecessary work needs to be done, get fast, friendly, and quality service, and learn how your traction control systems works, this is the place…

Terry has been keeping my Mazda MX-​6 healthy and happy for over seven years. He is very skilled, honest, reliable and friendly. Unfortunately I am not in the area anymore, so I cannot go back to his shop. Thanks for years of excellent service!

As far as auto repair goes, I’ve had some great experiences w/​Terry at All Automotive. On two separate occasions I was able to call and he was available to help me that very day. Once Terry even drove me back to work after I dropped off my car and gave me the guarantee that he would get my car fixed that day, or otherwise drive me back to my house after work. Now that’s service!
In addition to being dependable, Terry is honest and always willing to walk through his service with you so you know exactly what he did (great for those of us that know little about cars). Note that even Terry will admit that he is not the cheapest in town, but he will use good parts and make sure the job is done well. I’ve been a satisfied customer since 2004.
