Our experience with Gonzales Tile was exceptional. Craig has great customer service and is easy to talk to. He keeps you up to date through the entire project. Every day they cleaned up and left the house as if they were never even there. The quality of work is beautiful, and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for future projects. We already have him booked for our second bathroom and plan to use him in the kitchen as well. Support local business and call Gonzales Tile.

Craig and his crew removed 25 year old tile from our bathroom shower, vanity and floor. Installed new tile and transformed an old tired bathroom into a luxury bathroom that we absolutely love.
But it was the quality of the workmanship and the attention to detail that really showed off there professional skills. Since it was an upstairs bath, with carpeting on the stairs and hallway, they took extra care to cover the carpeting and keep dust to a minimum.
Craig, Brett and Scotty did a great job and I will use them again and have no problem recommending them to family and friends.

We found Craig through Bullnose Tile, which we used to purchase porcelain tile and grout for a new tile floor (~200 sq ft) for our kitchen renovation in Feb 2016. We actually talked to quite a few tile contractors and encountered a wide range of response times, lead times, references/​work examples and pricing. As an aside, it seems that everyone needs at least 2 weeks of lead time for scheduling, so plan accordingly. Gonzales Tile was the clear choice for us after going through all of that.
We purchased our materials through Craig and was able to get his discounted pricing from Bullnose. Craig and Brett actually made two trips our to our place prior to installation: once to provide the quote, and once after demolition to assess the floor to determine whether anything needed to be replaced.
The installation process itself took about 4 days beginning to end. They were very good about putting up plastic and tarps and a zipper door in advance to protect our carpet and keep the rest of our place tidy from dust. Before installation, they prepped the floor and added a ton of screws to eliminate some persistent squeaking in our floors (we have a 2^nd floor condo). After grouting, they came back and addressed a few touch up areas. They cared a lot about our satisfaction with their work, and we were very happy with the results.
We highly recommend Craig and his crew and would use them again.

Craig, (Brett, and Scott) could not have been more professional, pleasant, and adept throughout our job: tiled our whole bathroom and large kitchen backsplash without issue, with a master’s skill and touch, showed up ON TIME and did exactly what was promised: cost, execution, and final product was exemplary. Using a quirky product (fire clay tile) in a funky, crooked 130 year-​old barn? And they NAILED it.
And I had no problem leaving them to their business in our house, which I can’t even say about some of my friends ;)

Came out to our house and said would return bid next day. I didn’t hear back so I called and left several messages and emails. Never returned my calls or e-​mails. He may not have wanted to work on our house because it it a tri-​level and up in Holiday Lake hills but he could have at least let me know right away so I wouldn’t waste my time.

Craig (owner) came to us far into a partial remodel and a situation where we had poorly installed granite to deal with and little hope of finding a good installer to fix things. We had been having trouble finding installers then my wife found Gonzales Tile via Home Advisor.
All contact with him has been great. Professional and reliable. His initial visit went well and bid was great. From his advice, I found him very knowledgable.
The work happened as predicted and it came out absolutely perfect. The bits I was worried about added up to no big deal at all and the quality of his work is outstanding.
Highly recommended. We would use them again for any tile work.

Gonzales Tile completed our shower and floor 3 weeks ago, on schedule. We called Craig from a list given to us by Bullnose Tile. Craig always answered our calls and email promptly. He explained what would be done each day and was always on time. The tile work was done to perfection. Craig, Brett and Scott worked well together and although they were intent on doing a good job, they were friendly and eager to answer any of our concerns. We initially started a 2 bathroom remodel with another tile company and after the job was 75% complete we stopped the remodel job as it was clear that that it was not going to end well.
We called the tile company that we had purchased the tile from and asked for and was 3 tile installers phone numbers. Craig¹s name was the first they gave us and was the first one we called. From the first phone conversation with Craig it was apparent that he was the company that we felt would be very capable to fix our problem.
We asked Craig to remove everything that had been done by the previous person and start from the beginning. Long story short our selection to have Gonzales Tile and Craig do our remodel project was one of the best contracting experiences we have ever had. They were on time, pleasant to have working in our house, very clean (zero mess every day), beautiful workmanship and a very fair price.
The final example of Craig¹s company excellence was his call about a week later to follow up and make sure that everything was done to our satisfaction, something that very few companies are willing do today.

We completely renovated our house and was referred to Craig through General Contractor to do all the tile work on our house.
Craig and his team did the tile work for 2 full baths (With glass trim), 1 half bath and the kitchen back splash which was all glass tile. Everything looks great! I can’t wait to finally move in to the house and enjoy all the beautiful tile work that was done to perfection.

Can’t say enough good things about Craig, Bret and the rest of the guys at Gonzales Tile. We had them install porcelain tile in our Kitchen floor and entry way also had them come back since they did such an AMAZING job to do our Kitchen backsplash with marble tiles.
They are extremely polite, professional and artistic. The floor and backplash look better than I ever imagined. Their prices were better than any other tile company out there and believe me, I called them all. They were great with squeezing us in their tight schedule and completing the job in a timely manner without rushing the details. I would post pics of the beautiful work they did but I don’t want anybody to steal the design, lol.
All in all, I wouldn’t ever trust anybody else besides them to do any tile related work. With the most competitive prices, professionalism, courtesy and quality of work, I can without a doubt say that these guys are easily the best tile layers in the bay area.

Craig did a marvelous job of tiling our kitchen backsplash. He even came on his day off to get the job done in time for us to move in on schedule. He is very polite and business like. He returns calls right away. He gave excellent advice about how to do this job. The trim about the kitchen windows looks so great. It was a hard spot to do with our window blinds. His work is very precise and detailed.
There was a decorative strip of colored tile that I wanted to go all the way around the kitchen, along the counters, and over the stove. I wanted some sort of border above and below, but not a «cigar» tile that would collect grease. He was very creative in using a corner tile that lies flush with the adjacent tiles. It looks so wonderful, I couldn’t be more pleased. He is easy to work with, cheerful, and professional.
And his price was very reasonable.

I highly recommend Gonzales tile. We are just finishing up a complete remodel and Craig and his team did all of our tile work. They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy, including meeting me at the tile store to go over «the plan» and make sure I ordered enough of each tile. They are great guys who do a great job and offer excellent customer service. I will recommend them to any one who needs a tile contractor.

Cannot say enough good things about Craig, Brett and the team. First of all, I met them on a design job I was doing a year ago. I was placing Connecticut blue stone at a client’s home and there was a certain way the colors had to be placed. I showed him what I wanted and he GOT IT. He understood what I was doing. So a year later, I had Craig come tile our kitchen and he did good. I am very very picky (being an interior designer) and this was for our house. The job, impeccable and I went over it tile by tile. Every tile was even, all electrical plates straight, grout work done to perfection. He will be doing our bathroom next year. Thank you Craig, you get, you do it, no bs. Wish all of my vendors had your integrity.

Craig and his team were very professional and did a great job (see pictures). His work involved replacing the floor and creating and tiling the shower. He cut in the «wavy» border we had selected and it turned out beautifully. He made suggestions and improvements to our plan as we went and definitely made it turn out better. Great value as well.

Yes. I can vouch that these guys did an awesome job on our porcelain tile. We had a complex mosaic and border and these guys did an awesome job. It was great. Thanks for the job and they gave us a very, very reasonable price.

We first got a reference for Craig Gonzales through a plumber over a year ago. Called him and he came out and gave me an estimate for re-​tiling my 1970’s shower. We were thinking of moving at the time, but after seeing how good the shower looked, we thought of having our guest bath (floor and tub surround) done as well. We called Craig a second time and he was able to accommodate our busy work schedule by doing some of the work on weekends and in the late afternoon.
This year, we decided that moving was not worthwhile in this economy, so it was time to replace the ugly 1970’s parquet wooden floor in our kitchen/​familyroom. We called Craig once again and he was again able to accommodate to our schedule. We selected a more unusual tile pattern (5 different size tiles that weave together) and it looks great!
By the way, tile for all three projects was purchased at Bullnose Tile (off of Brokaw in San Jose). They seem to have the best prices and the folks there are down-​to-​earth, not «salesy» like in some of the commercial places.
Glad we were able to support two local businesses three times!

I’m lousy at Unilocal… I think of writing reviews and then I flake. To the point, I’ve used Craig Gonzales 3 times now. First in 2008 when he arrived at the place I was remodeling through a contractor acquaintance referral. He did the kitchen in our selected tile flawlessly. No backer board junk with Craig, he’s old school «float the floor to perfection». Second time was early 2010 when I needed my entrance way tiles laid (same tile) Small job, same professionalism and thoroughness. Then in late 2010, I was completing the master bath remodel and was going to just lay the tile myself. No way the wife said, call Craig. Again, done perfectly. He really cares about the process and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Oh yeah, play Steely Dan music while he’s working, he’ll be in the zone. I will happily recommend him for large or small projects.
