While I am licensed to originate loans in the entire state of California, I am local to Marin County and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our office is located within minutes of Sausalito, Marin City, Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Larkspur, Ross, Greenbrae, Kentfield, San Anselmo, Fairfax, San Rafael, Novato and West Marin.

One of my specialties is 80−10−10 financing or «piggyback» loans, including the REX Homebuyer down payment funding program. Since 1999, I have been a licensed mortgage originator (NMLS: 22 343, CalBRE: 1 297 944). I live and work in Marin County. I’m a husband, father and active member of the community, currently serving as president of two homeowners associations and as treasurer of the Tamalpa Runners, the largest running club in northern CA. As a mountaineer, I have stood atop some of the world’s highest peaks and as a competitive triathlete, I have completed the prestigious Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, on multiple occasions. I actively support charities that seek to find a cure for Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS), the affliction which claimed my mother in 2010. When it comes to racing a triathlon, fighting the War on ALS, or closing your home loan, I am «in it to the finish.»

I found Rob during an online search for Mortgage service providers. Looking at excellent ratings and positive feedback given by other customers, I have approached him for my mortgage loan. It was just two months before «the close» when I contacted RPM Mortgage. Rob and his team (Ray, Katie) made sure that the loan was funded on time without any hurdles.
Rob clearly explained the process, provided multiple options /​loan types and clearly defined the terms and advantages of each option. Rob kept us updated on a regular basis, responded quickly to our questions and transparent in rates and fees. There were no surprises or hidden costs until the loan was funded. Although we had purchased a home before we had never bought and sold at the same time so we had a million questions and concerns. Our experience with Rob was extremely positive. He exceeded our expectations in every way. As first time home buyers, there was a lot to understand and navigate. He educated us on the loan options and solutions available to us. He is honest, objective and clearly explains things in a manner that is easy to understand.
In terms of service, Rob is prompt and very responsive. Any time we had questions, he was quick and thorough in answering them over email or with a phone call. Time after time, he went out of his way to make himself available; even on weekends and holidays.
In the end, we did not end up using Rob’s services due to special financing available through our employer. However, we think so highly of Rob that we wanted to write a review to recommend his services to others.

Closed a mortgage refi in Aug. 2014 with Rob and everything went perfectly.
First, we got a great new, lower mortgage rate.
Second, Rob is a professional and provides various scenarios to help you make the best financial decision based on your specific situation. He explains the scenarios in understandable, clear language and doesn’t make you feel dumb for having to have the more technical issues of refinancing re-​stated.
Finally, Rob is approachable and always available throughout the process. When we had some questions at our actual closing, Rob was on the phone with us immediately.

My husband and I LOVED working with Rob — he is simply the BEST and we cannot recommend him more highly!
Right from the beginning, Rob stood out from all the other potential lenders we talked to, because he actually «communicated» with us — covering details and answering questions using language that we can understand, and he always got right to the point and wasted no time on any sales speech.
What impressed us the most was Rob’s ability to resolve unexpected setbacks in the loan process. After we had everything in place and was just waiting for our tax transcript to come in before funding, we found that IRS screwed up our last year’s tax return and was still processing/​making corrections, and the transcript would only be ready at least several weeks after the closing date. Worst of all, IRS told us this exactly 11 days before closing, whereas they promised earlier resolutions in 2 earlier calls.
Not wanting to risk the uncertainty, Rob immediately found us a new lender who would be able to fund us without the transcript, then reworked the paperworks and got us back to where we were in 2 days. Despite this last minute drama, we were able to closed as scheduled without any delay, and best of all, all the extra work/​processes happened behind the scene handled completely by Rob and his team! It’s 11 days after closing today, and our last year’s tax was still being processed in IRS with no end date in sight. If it wasn’t for Rob, this deal would have fallen through.
We cannot thank Rob enough for helping us get our first home, and we will enthusiastically recommend his superb service to anyone looking for a wonderful loan experience! It will probably be a long time until we need another loan, but we know that we’ll be looking forward to working with him again when the time comes!
