Resplendent Photography

We had the pleasure of working with Sunee through a fundraiser at our daughter’s preschool. We had never had professional family photos done before and I didn’t know what to expect. Sunee was great! I was really concerned about picking the right clothes for the shoot. Sunee sent me many links to clothing ideas and even had me text her a picture of our outfits the day before to give feedback. The day of the shoot, my grumpy toddler was a hand full. Sunee was very relaxed and patient, the perfect attitude when dealing with kids. She had a fantastic eye for location and it made for a beautiful Spring background in our pictures. The pictures themselves came out fantastic… yes, my toddler scowled in a few, but Sunee was able to capture the few smiles she had. We will definitely use her again for future family photos.

We weren’t looking for a professional photographer, but when Sunee offered us a family session through a fundraiser at our son’s preschool, I thought «hey, the in-​laws are in town, so why not»? She went the extra mile from the beginning by asking for suggestions of where to shoot the photos and also asking us to send a photo of our outfits ahead of time so the colors would look good together. Amazingly, she was able to photograph me, my husband, our two cranky kids (who had not had their naps), and my in-​laws with a beautiful spring scene and plenty of natural smiles. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the photos (not because of Sunee, but because of how my family usually looks in photographs), but the final photos were BEAUTIFUL! She did a great job putting together a final product — we were very impressed and ordered many more photos than we expected to. Very impressed by Resplendent Photography and will definitely use them again.

I found Sunee through Plum District– after viewing the beautiful photos on Resplendent’s website I thought that the mini session deal was too good to pass up. I actually sat on my voucher for almost a year and only got around to booking the session as it was about to expire. Sunee was very accommodating and answered all of my emails promptly and even offered to extend the expiry date to accommodate our photo session (we ended up booking a weekend earlier). She was very relaxed yet professional and she took some amazing shots of our family. My 5 year old prefers not to have her picture taken and often ruins group photos by being the only one without a smile. Sunee was able to capture some great shots of her with a wonderful, genuine smile. She was very patient and playful with my children and we even picked up a few new tricks from her in terms of photographing kids. All in all, we had a pleasant mini session with Sunee and are extremely pleased with the photos that she took. I would not hesitate to use her services again.

Found Sunee on a plum district deal, everything sounded great and dandy. The pictures on her website looked beautiful, what more could you asked for?! I was in contact with Sunee from the beginning, trying to plan out a special photo shoot to celebrate my sons 1^st birthday. She told me I could «upgrade» to a full session, which in the first email she told me it would be an additional $ 150 then another email (sent at a later time) she sends an email that it will cost $ 200 to upgrade. I replied in an email, that it was «odd» that the price changed, but that I’d still like to book the appointment regardless for the additional $ 200. She replied with a long email stating why the price changed, confusion etc, and that I could hire other photographers if I had a problem with her pricing. I already emailed her that I was OKAY with the $ 200, why would she even bother mentioning other photographers. (I should’ve followed my instincts on that one — my bad). The «full session» would’ve included per her EXACT WORDING — (Copy and pasted from her email) «I do not include prints with any of my sessions except for the $ 500 session (which includes 1 8×10 print) but yes, you will get 30 – 40 retouched high resolution files, instead of just 10 – 15 that comes with the mini session.»“
So with the photo session, we are booked for 60 minutes, the actual photo session was 30 minutes at most. We didnt get as many good shots after looking at the proofs. It included a lot of «practice» shots that she was testing the lighting, but she included those shots as finals. Ugh. So out of maybe 55 shots that she did, about 5 are «printable» NOT ONLY that but when she sends the proofs over she only sends the rights to small 4×6 prints when we originally booked everything she SAID I would get 30 – 40 retouched high resolution files. After emailing her explaining that I wanted to get high resolution files for the pictures she says to me that I’d have to pay for them seperately. I’m not looking to blow up her mediocre pictures to poster sized wallpaper, I’d like to print them out to a 8×10 as the largest print, and that’s maybe 1 or 2 pictures she took out of the 50.
Anyways, long story short, I made a bad choice on hiring Sunee for my sons first birthday pictures. Not only did she fall short of taking beautiful pictures, but she didn’t bother to explain her services to a complete understanding between her and I, (TOTAL MISCOMMUNICATION from beginning to end), but she was also very hard to deal with and had attitude along the way. If you ask me a photographer should be patient and somewhat accommodating, but she seemed «distracted» the entire time. A loss of $ 300, not that bad, but I lost the opportunity to capture my sons first birthday on film. Lesson learned, go with your gut instinct.
Stay away, there are WAY better up front, honest and truly talented photographers out there other than Resplendent Photography.

Sunee is an amazing photographer! She has done 2 sessions for our family (children 3 and 2) over the past few months and we have been very happy about the photographs! She is extremely attentive to detail and quite meticulous about getting the setting just right. She advises you on choice of wardrobe, lighting, location, etc. She is great with the children, very engaging, and always strives to get the perfect shot. We were also impressed with the quality of the photos and the editing of the session down to a great selection so that it was not overwhelming to chose. We look forward to having an ongoing relationship with her as our photograher as the children get older.

We love our pictures from Sunee! Which is saying a lot since I hate most pictures of myself. I can’t take a picture of my wiggly baby to save my life but some how Sunee is able to keep her in one place and get some awesome shots. It’s magic. Her rates are really reasonable and she even lets you keep the digital files without making you pay an arm and a leg. The only problem with me and professional photography is you have to sit down and actually order the prints. One of these days I will get around to it!

Sunee took beautiful photographs for my website. I own a clinic and she took photos of all of the practitioners. They were lovely. The colors and vibrancy are what make her photos so visually captivating. I browsed her photographs of babies, children, families, moms-​to-​be, and I would refer her in a heartbeat to anyone seeking these types of photos. She is very creative in the setups for the photos and uses the beautiful natural local surroundings as her inspiration. What a great gift idea.

I highly recommend Sunee for your family photos. She did a beautiful session with my family (two adults and three kids) and then a separate session with the baby. The photos are gorgeous and people always comment on them. She has a daughter of her own, so she really knows how to work with kids and families. She has a good pricing structure as well — which is important to me!

Sunee was wonderful! She came to our home to take newborn photo’s and a few family ones with our 2 year old. She was great with our kids, very patient and even ventured down to the creek behind our house to get some cool shots down there. Her photos are amazing! I can’t wait to use her again.

Sun-​E helped take pictures of my dogs for several websites. She was patient with them, which can be a challenge. Her unique poses turned out amazing.

Awesome! Sunee has an excellent attention to detail and takes her time to get the best shot. She was not happy with our family shoot and is offering us a reshoot at no charge. We also hired her for a newborn shoot and the pictures are stellar. She is our family photographer for life!

Have you ever attempted family photos with a 6 month-​old-​baby (who was 1 hour late for her nap) and 2 (hyper) dogs in a public park? Laughable right? Well Sune pulled it off… and well.
We got several great posed shots (with all of us looking at the camera… amazing!) and dozens of candids (my favorite). We just played in the grass and Sune went at it! She really captured some special moments between us. I will cherish these photos forever!

Sun-​E or Sune (I don’t know how the woman really spells her name. But it’s pronounced SUNNY) is an AMAZING photographer!
Resplendent did the photography for «My Best Friend’s Wedding»…literally! And Sun-​E did a fantastic job despite all of the EXTREMELY large women in the bridal party. She didn’t make us look skinny (damn it. I told that girl to make me look like Beyonce). But, she made the entire event look like a fairytale. I was the Maid of Honor (or Dishonor in this case) so I KNOW that she was very reasonable and accommodating to Bridezilla… I mean Best Friend.
Sun-​E (Sune) is gifted. She gets the shots that a regular old person would never think about. Then, when you see the photo you just turn to mush. She’s the best! She was a pleasure to work with and I would use her for my own wedding (IF THAT EVER HAPPENS).
Replendent’s website is just as awesome as the lady behind it. It reflects her character… witty and ingenious. Plus, there is the PRETTIEST little flower girl on her site with Shirley temple curls that caress her cinnamon skin. I bet that kid has a DROP DEAD GORGEOUS MAMA! Yeah… uh huh… that’s right… you better recognize!

Sune is the best!!! The BIG day was approaching fast, and I needed I wanted a neutral photographer that could capture the entire day without just shooting me and the groom. Sune was great! Yes, my «maid of Honor» wanted to look like Beyonce, I think Sune got the best sides of her. TEEHEEE

I had my first photo shoot last weekend with Sune and it was awesome! We did pre-​wedding photos at the Palace of Fine Arts and it was so much fun! She captured candid moments that were better then any posed photo. She is shooting my wedding this friday and I am very excited that she is our photographer. Taylor and I knew from the first photos she showed us at our initial meeting that she was the one. I have no doubt that she will capture the essence of our wedding.
