I would be selling if I owned stock in this property. Pros: parking was free and the beds were ok. Cons: paying for Internet. Big $ to use business center: I have paid less on cruise ships to use theirs(85 cents/minute?!?). Wild card: changing name to «Hotel Memphis» on July 25, as Marriott is dumping this property. I really doubt it will get better. Hampton Inn just dumped theirs across the street. The businesses and restaurants in the area are not very inviting. Restaurant nearby has boards on windows. If you must stay in this area, consider the adjacent Fairfield or Marriott on Poplar a few miles east of here.

As I have said in many reviews, I am a platinum member of Marriott Rewards and they are my preferred brand. stay at a lot of Marriott’s throughout the year and this is by far one of the most worn down properties I’ve been in in recent memory. The hotel is decent looking from the road and the lobby is nice, but unfortunately that’s where it stops. The guest room hallway is very worn and the rooms are in need of an update, especially the TV and technology. Sorry, but I would not stay here again unless(1) they update the rooms or(2) there was no other hotel choice in the area.

A Tuesday ago, I was stranded due to inclement weather in Nashville so my connecting location — which was Memphis — left me hanging. A quick search on a certain travel website search engine later, and I found myself in a cab to the Memphis Marriott. First, let me say that there is apparently nothing near the airport except for hotels, which is just cray-cray to me. Anyhow, the Memphis Marriott is 5 miles from the airport and was a pretty decent hotel overall, hence an «A-OK» rating of three stars. Front desk staff: They were helpful, polite, and got me setup with a room as quickly as possible — which after being stranded in the airport for 2.5 hours and then my flight getting cancelled finally and having not eaten(an important factoid for a moment from now) was all that I could ask of them. They even found me a single king bed as opposed to two double beds, I mean my bag did not need a place to sleep, only I did. Now, about being hungry, I attempted to dial from room service from the phone beside the bed. Unfortunately, it was non-functional. So, I used the phone on the computer desk /multi-purpose desk, and it worked. I ordered something super complicated(sarcasm): a cheeseburger. I was immediately told it would be 45 minutes. Whoa! Ex-squeeze-me?!? Well, they were«extremely busy tonight» because of the weather and the number of guests(of other cancelled flights). Fine. 45 minutes passed, no food… starting to want to gnaw off hand… 1 hour… no food. I call, «We’re just really busy sir.»… It’s a freaking cheeseburger… you’re not that busy… or you’re incapable. Anyway, the food finally came… it was uninspiring. Sleep ensued. Checkout ensued after that. Took the hotel shuttle to the airport the next morning and returned home. Thank goodness.

Need to update the rooms, especially the TVs.

Great, friendly staff. Big, clean, comfy rooms. Excellent bar/restaurant attached. Free parking, but it can get crowded on busy nights. Unfortunately, there is not much nearby in attractions.

Delta put me up here because of a missed connecting flight. Comfy beds, good showers, clean room. Common areas could probably use an update, but no complaints here, as the airline is footing the bill!

I gave this hotel 5 stars because I have stayed at a few of the hotels in memphis… the Fairfield Inn right in front of this hotel and I have stayed at the holida inn on americana way. this hotel is the BEST!!! My family and I come for Elvis week and we dont want to spend huge bucks to stay downtown. The lobby is beautiful, the beds are so comfortable and the shower is like heaven!!! The resturant is very expensive and not that great. but other than that I will be staying here again!!!

Older Marriott that is in need of remodeling. Everything was clean but the wear and tear were showing in some places. The rooms were small but comfortable. The TV’s in the room are older with below average reception. Service and staff were friendly and professional.

This is a satisfactory place as far as the physical condition is concerned. The staff is very helpful. I would recommend asking for a room not next to an elevator or ice machine if you have trouble with noise or sleeping. The restaurant is kind of silly looking. The bar is very serviceable. If you are in a conference or convention here, the amenities, coffee, and food in the pyramid room are excellent.
