Aqua Adventure

This was an amazing experience! My wife and I both did SNUBA and snorkeling and they were patient, experienced and funny! Close ups with parrotfish, eels, turtles and coral. We could tell that they knew what they were doing and were more than willing to tell us the history of different sites and teach us some Hawaiian. The captain LOVES his job and it shows. Thank you for the memories!

My wife and I got to snuba and snorkel at Molokini and Turtle arches while visiting Maui and we went with Aqua Adventure. The boat was great, the crew was friendly and competent, and the gear was great as well. They provided everything necessary to have a great time, including a simple breakfast and lunch, and we really enjoyed it.

Great boat crew. Too windy so we didn’t get to visit Molikini (bummer) but our second stop, a little quiet cove, had a ton of beautiful fish. I struggled to eat, because I’m gluten free and the food was primarily muffins and sandwiches. However, the boat was fine, the staff was friendly with all the passengers — especially the kiddos — and the day was relaxing and beautiful.

Experienced the snorkeling tour, wasn’t quite sure if I could do it. The crew was very helpful and nice… I was in the water in no time!!! Well worth the money. Continental breakfast and lunch was included.

Tim the first mate was super patient, funny & helpful. Daryl the Captain was awesome. Adela & Darious were kick a$$. Overall, I have been a few times to this area for snorkeling only to be disappointed but this smaller trip of about 16 people was perfect. Our kids are 16,20 & 24 & we had a blast! Dont settle for the cattle call, these guys are worth EVERY dime.

We just completed our second trip with this crew and it was awesome. The boat is smaller than some which we prefer. You get to know the crew and the other guests which is fun. Our first trip was a year ago and we were impressed to see all the same crew still aboard. Our first trip last June was to Molokini and it was great. This trip the weather was bad by this island so the captain decided to take us up north. I was disappointed at first but once we arrived and got into the water I was so happy. He took us right to a turtle cleaning station. I have never seen so many turtles in one place. I would highly recommend this company.

My Boyfriend and I had an amazing experience with this crew and snorkeling. They also snorkel at turtle town. Most companies only go to one spot, this tour company does 2! We did SNUBA at Molokini. It’s a introductory lesson into scuba. I highly recommend trying this if you are interested. The breakfast and lunch was bagel/​muffin style and quite notable better than most deli sandwich Bar. Their staff make you comfortable and remarkably remember your names making the experience feel catered to you. It’s a smaller tour boat, but I wasn’t looking for a boat that can hold up to 200 people. Bigger companies ultimately mean more people in the water to swim through and only one snorkel stop. Book with Aqua Adventure! you will not be disappointed.

Went out on 03÷22÷16 morning. Great experience, whales on the way to Molokini and turtles in turtle shelter. The crew did a great job accommodating our group of 7 ranging from 11 to 42. Everything was perfect. I have been on a few charter boats and I must say our captain in that day was 5+ stars. He did a great job ensuring our safety and spending the time to make us all feel special. Bigger boats just can’t compete with the service and we will go back.

This was a fantastic trip. The crew was great; fun, friendly and obviously concerned with making sure everyone had an amazing experience. We saw whales, turtles, lots of fish. All in all, a very enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

There is a reason this boat and its captain and crew have been rated 5 stars… because they give you five star service! From the moment you get on the boat to the moment you get off, you feel like you are completely taken care of! Crew members, Chelsea and Adella were amazing! They made sure you knew what you needed to do and if you were okay! Captain Daryl was fantastic too! Always making sure we stopped for whale watching and so funny during the snorkeling lesson. All the crew members were amazing with my 9 year old who was to say the least a little nervous. Chelsea personally helped her get equated with the water and the how to’s when we first got in the water. By the time we got to our second spot, my daughter was a pro!
They offer continental breakfast and lunch.
My advice: if you get sea-​sick pick up some motion sickness pills and ginger ale before you board though. At the end, the boat rocks back and forth like crazy and no joke, when you’re taking a shower later you’ll still feel like you’re in the boat!!! (You’ll want another round of motion sickness pills) Boat living I guess:)
Anyways, if you’re going to take any snorkeling boat, this is it!!! Have fun!!!

The slip was really easy to find and there was lots of parking for a fee (0.50 an hour). Once we signed in they took our picture and got us on the boat. There we enjoyed a continental breakfast while everyone got checked in and boarded. The captain went over all the rules and safety requirements, but did so in a funny, entertaining way. Then we headed out to Molokini Crater. It was about a 45 – 60 minutes boat ride and although it was windy the boat didn’t rock too much. The captain gave an optional snorkel lesson and then we snorkeled for an hour. The food and coffee was left out in case you needed snacks. Crew members were in the water to show us cool things and to assist us if needed. Then we loaded up and went to Turtle Town and swam another hour with sea turtles and other fish. After that location a lunch was put out (sandwiches, macaroni salad, and alcoholic drinks/​juice/​soda). We came back into the harbor while we ate.
What I liked about this boat was that it was smaller and only took about 40 people max, versus some of those huge boats with lots of people. The crew was very helpful and friendly. They took our trash, refilled drinks, pointed out animals/​locations, and we’re very knowledgeable.
I’ve done this tour twice before with other companies, but so far this one was my favorite! Will definitely use them again next time I come back to Maui.
Also all gear is included and they even have boogie boards with plastic looking holes in them for the younger kids who don’t want to put their face in the water. I recommend taking the noodle to help you float while observing all the fish!

Aaron and Matt were fantastic; the trip couldn’t have been better. Saw turtles, eels and lots of beautiful fish. Loved being on a smaller boat with just a handful of people. Would highly recommend Aqua and look forward to booking with them again next time we’re back in Maui!

We were in Kehei during the September 2015 hurricanes. Every snorkel spot we tried ourselves was murky and the waves were bad. So we decided to try a guided tour, and we were glad we did. Captain Mike and his crew were very knowledgable and fun to be around. You know when you can tell someone really loves what they do? Well, they LOVE what they do.
We weren’t able to go to Turtle town due to the waves and the water being murky (wanted to avoid those sharks!), but Molokini crater was amazing and SNUBA was awesome! A must do if you are looking for an awesome snorkel/​SNUBA experience.

We have tripped twice now with Captain Darryl on the Aqua Adventure and both times were fantastic. Depending on ocean conditions, he will take you to the best available snorkeling.
If you are new to snorkeling, his «Snorkeling 101» class is outstanding and will have you comfortable in the water your first time out.
If you sit up top with him he will talk story with you the whole time you motor between spots.

We are so glad we chose Aqua Adventures for our snorkel trip, I highly recommend it to anyone, but especially if you have kids. The captain and crew we great with our first time snorkelers, ages 7 and 9. The smaller boat meant fewer snorkelers, so more attention, they provided breakfast and lunch, and made us some great Mai Tai’s. The spots they took us to were amazing, and we got to see so much marine life, including sea turtles. Their passion for diving was great to see and experience.

Great snorkel and snuba tour, the boat and crew were great, Anne (the snuba your guide) is a total stud. They all have great senses of humor. Awesome memories,

Some things you build up in your head so much that they just couldn’t possibly live up to your expectations. This is not one of those experiences– it is exactly everything I had hoped for and more.
The day begins with 645 check in and by 715, we’ve been fed breakfast of bagels and fruit, and we’re on the water. Not 10 minutes out we encounter a humpback mother and calf and watch them pop up for air a few times before carrying on to Molokini.
Before leaving the boat, we got a quick lesson on how to use the snorkel gear (it’s
pretty straightforward but it’s always good to have tips from the pros). I bought a wetsuit for $ 5 and Nelson skipped. We both ended up swimming around chasing fish for nearly 2 hours.
Back on the boat there was plenty of sunshine waiting to revive us on the way turtle town. As soon as we arrived a big turtle popped up to say hello so we hopped in and followed. One of the guides who pointed out turtles and other cool creatures to describe to us put a sea urchin on Nelson’s head– a longstanding dream of mine finally fulfilled.
Exhausted after another hour of swimming we got back on board and made sandwiches and were served mai tais and beer.
Totally spent and so content, I was already considering this one of my favorite life experiences, when they came around and sealed the deal by passing out cookies. No, I’m kidding, that didn’t seal the deal, but it definitely helped. What really sealed the deal was the return of the humpback family on our way back in, this time both fully breaching the water, saying «Julia! This is it! The coolest, most special thing you will ever see in your whole life!» And I said «Yes whales, it is. Thank you!» And finished my cookie and mai tai in complete bliss. We were back on land by noon– plenty of time to take a quick nap and head back to the beach for a few hours after.
Both captain and crew on this boat were kind and wonderful and generous and funny and knowledgeable, and I could continue to gush about them, but I really have to recommend you just go meet them and have this experience for yourself. It is fully and totally worth every cent and then some. (Yes, you will tip them, and you will be so happy to.)

I’m a snorkeling newbie… and basically a newbie at all water sports! I checked out Unilocal when deciding what snorkeling company to use while in Maui on vacation. Obviously, there are TONS of options and a wide variety of prices. After checking out numerous reviews, I decided that Aqua Adventure would be the best fit for my boyfriend and I.
Booking was easy — basically, you need to show up at 6:45 at their docking location. And you can’t bring spray sunscreen. That is about it. We had another 2 friends join us that day, so we ended up being about ⁴⁄₂₀ on their trip that day. The size was nice, not too large that you feel like a number but not too small that you feel constantly watched.
The crew was great — they were constantly joking around with each other and with the guests. We were brought to two locations — Molokini (just ok) and Turtle Town (not sure if that is an official name, or just a location where they thought we could find turtles). The second location was hands-​down the best of the two. Everyone that I talked to on the trip agreed. We were the only boat there and there was so much to see! I was shocked when they called us back to the boat (really, its been an hour?!). We saw a huge variety of tropical fish, uni, an octopus, and several sea turtles.
After the snorkel trips, we were served lunch (sandwich stuff & pasta salad) and drinks (mai tai, rum & coke, etc). Basically, you can eat & drink as much as you want, time permitting. Not the best mai tai I had in Maui, but the most fun! During this time, we were brought to different locations to check out the whales — great photo ops and just a relaxing time. Finally, you reach the harbor again at around noon.
Please note that tips are NOT included in the price you pay. I am used to bringing extra cash for tips after trips like this (think white water rafting, kayaking, snorkeling, etc), but I didn’t see many others actually tip. This bothered me! To me its like a restaurant — if you get awesome service, you leave a great tip. When not many people tips, it seems insulting to the crew. Please remember to bring extra cash to tip — this crewed works hard to make a great experience for each guest — they deserve it! Also — you can rent wet-​suits, add on SNUBA and under water cameras, if needed!

The is a great company. First second to meeting the crew we knew we picked the right company. Mike the captain, Mike the snuba instructor and Glennour snorkeling instructor. They where very professionals but charming and fun to be around. We had so much fun. Mike did a great job easing us into snuba diving. I highly suggest it. Theres nothing like being under the water with the coral and fish.
The boat was clean and I love how its run off of bio diesel. They had breakfast and lunch for us. Had wet suits if we wanted (which we did since the water was not supper cold but cold enough)
We highly recommend this company.
