Bank of America

Branch Manager Marva Peters embodies the worst combination of incompetence, laziness, and arrogance. She has worked at the branch since I first started doing business here (about 20 years ago). I have NO idea how she has managed to keep her job, let alone promote. I have finally decided to do a Unilocal review on this latest issue.
Today’s experience:
I tried to use the middle ATM to make a deposit to my account. The ATM prompted me to insert my check. When I inserted my check, it failed to recognize the it. Eventually, I went inside and waited through the teller line. When I got to a teller and explained my problem, the teller asked if it was the middle ATM. I said it was, and the teller said it had been doing that all day, and I had to call the number on the back of my ATM card for assistance. I said, Well, since it just happened, and we are all still here, can’t somebody just go get it for me. She said they could not and that I had to call the number and maybe they can help me. I asked, What if they cannot help me? She said she did not know. I suggested they should put a sign on the ATM so this does not continue happening to their customers. She said the branch manager (Marva Peters) decided not to put a sign on it. She suggested I could discuss it further with Management, if I wanted.
Since Marva Peters and the other branch officer (Nathan Calloway) were busy at their desks, I sat in the lobby while trying to contact anybody at the toll number on the back of my ATM card. About this time, Calloway finished with his customers, extended his hand, and explained he overheard I had a problem with the ATM. He was very polite and business like. He walked me back to his desk, where he already had the ATM department on the telephone line.
I discussed this with the ATM «person» on the telephone, who explained it would take about 4 weeks for them to resolve this. To his credit, he did say he would credit my account for the amount the machine ate (nearly $ 1000) pending the outcome of their investigation. I asked if somebody could drive over to the branch and put an «out of order» sign on this ATM, but he said it was up to the branch manager (Marva Peters).
While talking to this ATM «person» another customer came in with the same problem. Calloway passed the telephone to her as soon as I was done. I could not help but think how much time and effort one simple sign could same… if only…
I walked over to Marva Peters’ desk and asked why she will not put a sign on the ATM and save their customers so much trouble. She said she did not know there was anything wrong with it. I explained that she did know it had been eating customer’s checks all day, and she will not allow her employees to post a sign on it. I explained it was going to take me 4 weeks to get this resolved – all because she would not post a simple sign. She then said, I knew it happened to one person, and some others, but I didn’t know it would take 4 weeks to get it resolved. I asked, Why can’t you just do the right thing and put a sign on the ATM and save a lot of people a lot of trouble. She said, I have to look and see what kind of signs we have. I explained that if she would give me a piece of paper, a pen, and small piece of tape, I would put a sign on the ATM. She, however, would not budge.
In summary:
I would like to thank Relationship Banker Nathan Calloway for his excellent customer service. It is so sad that he, and his co-​workers, have to work for this manager.
This is just the latest such example of Marva Peters’ terrible customer service. Why won’t anybody at Bank of America do anything?

Banks are not known for being fast but today I waited 40 min to be helped. Only 2 tellers and 5 people in line. What took so long you might ask? Only one teller was taking customers while 20 min in the other decided to batch the banks $. Counting the same stack over and over and over again. Maybe when you see the line building up towards the door and people being upset take some time to do that later? Or maybe hire more tellers? Joke of a branch. Use to work for bofa and wells Fargo and this would have been unacceptable!

Horrible customer service the women here are so inconsiderate of your time they are extremely unfriendly. I work here in the Virginia hills shopping center so unfortunately this is the closest bank for me to get change. I don’t know who’s in charge of this place, but they are extremely careless of their customers. This is a bank, where is the professionalism? I honestly waited 25 minutes in line, with 8 people in front of me who didn’t move. While I was in line 3 people walked out. I saw the tellers look at them walking out, thinking maybe they would TRY to be a little faster I was wrong. They mugged the people walking out and continued to take their sweet time. Horrible. Wells Fargo by far has some of the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. Go there instead or a different BOA. Our time is worth way more.

I went into this bank today and wanted to cash in 2 sacks of coins for my mother. I was treated most rudely by the teller. She nastily reported that they have no coin machines at this bank or any other in the State of California. Un freeking believeable. My preferred bank is Wells Fargo in Portland Oregon. They will cash in your coins at any time with a smile. This teller today told me to go to Wells Fargo in Oregon, that was her thoughtful solution.

All the times I have swung by this B of A after work especially on Fridays it never seems busy. Must be because it’s kind of hidden but that’s fine with me! Never really any waits at the 3 ATM outside or inside. The service was friendly and I would definitely continue using this branch!

I like going inside banks and dealing with people rather than the machines. But I don’t always get the same vibe from the folks at this BofA.
Regardless, location and services are worth doing some of my banking here.

This B of A is kinda hiding out next to the Longs at Virginia Hills. I very rarely have occasion to go into a branch and though I’ve used the 2 ATMs at this location many times, I never even noticed there was a real branch over to the side (attention focused on the small but bustling Starbucks I guess).
The other day I needed a grande cashier’s check. No waiting, two tellers open, quick friendly service. If I ever have to go into the bank again… this is where I’m going.
