Dr. Klostermann has retired. Sad to say because he was excellent. But the good news is the doctor who took over his office, Agim Gashi is awesome.

Dr. Klosterman used to treat my when I was a young man circa 1980 and I was about 13 years old. He did multiple wart removals and even stopped charging my dad to do them. He also repaired a number of ingrown toenails performing surgery on way. It is now 35 years later and I have not had a problem with that toe or nail since.
I recently had a toe nail ablation performed by another DPM and it occurred to me afterwards to look up good old Dr. Klosterman. I wish I looked him up before I had the procedure done as I gladly would have made the trip from Temecula to Marina Del Rey to have him do it!
Dr. Klosterman was a stand up guy then and I can only assume that the years have not changed him. I would recommend him to anyone with foot issues.

There’s a new doctor at this location now. And he is not good, go elsewhere. Didn’t help my problem, actually made me buy casts I didn’t need and made the problem way worse. Just blamed the issue on high intensity exercising and told me just to not exercise anymore. Finally stopped listening to him and solved the problem with ice and stretching. Waste of time!

I had an excellent experience with Dr Klostermann and his professional and kind staff He has been treating my parents with exceptional care and compassion for many years. Hence, when my toe became infected due to an ingrown toenail I knew exactly who to call. Dr Klostermann made sure I felt no pain during the procedure. I can finally walk in my shoes without pain. This is how all medical offices should be managed.
I would highly recommend Dr Klostermann to anyone who is seeking the best in patient care.

I had the worst experience imaginable. Dr Klostermann performed a Bunion surgery on me last year and since the surgery my foot is worse than I could have even imagined.
My foot that had the surgery is constantly and increasingly painful because soon after the surgery the large metatarsal bone and big toe shifted to the left. The Dr said it seemed the internal sutures from the surgery did not hold well enough. whether or not that is the case, of this I am sure — Now I can no longer run, or do many of the sports I used to do like hiking, tennis, etc, without feeling pain. Even walking short distances is painful. Dr. Klosterman and a second opinion Dr. at Kerlan Jobe both suggested I get another even more painful and invasive surgery called an Osteotomy to correct the new problem. If I do this it will be quite expensive, painful and may even damage my foot more…
My foot is not well and I do not know what to do. I sent a letter to Dr. Klostermann soon after the surgery telling him of the issues and asking him to agree to pay for me to see another Dr., physical therapist, etc. Dr. Klostermann never even had the courtesy to reply to my letter. So, I was forced to take him to small claims court.
This whole experience has been a disaster. No amount of money can make up for my damaged foot, which may even get worse and worse. I wish I had never met Dr. Klostermann. Now my foot will probably be permanently in pain and damaged for life.
I am so bummed out :-(

I’ve been to a handful of Podiatrist, let just say my search is over. Doctor Klostermann actually takes the time to know each and every patient that walks in. I needed to see a podiatrist after an ankle injury that left me incapable of walking without crutches.
After examining my injury, Dr. Klostermann was able to isolate and pinpoint the exact source of my pain. He gently injected the area with medication and massaged it for 30 seconds and I was on my way home. Did I forget to mention… no crutches needed!
Before I made an appointment with Dr. Klostermann, I visited an urgent care due to the pain. The Dr. at the urgent care prescribed me pain and anti-​inflammatory medication and issued me a set of crutches for the week. He said minimum of 7-​days recovery and medication.
Dr. Klostermann cut that recovery time to 7-​minutes flat. I can’t thank you enough! I can now go back to work: Jumping out of helicopters.

Dr. Klostermann is a hero to my feet. As a runner I was always getting injured and didn’t know why. He was able to diagnose and treat my foot problems and now I’m happily back to running.
I highly recommend him. His staff are friendly and their office hours work well with my work schedule.

My experience with Dr. Klostermann was excellent! I was in need of foot surgery and in 2010 I was fortunate to come across his practice. From beginning to end a very successful surgery on my right foot, was a perfect experience. I would recommend Dr. Klostermann to anybody that is looking for the best in patient care, follow up and most importantly the procedure. Thank you again for making my life much more pleasant.

My 80 year-​old mother, who was visiting from Israel suffered from a double corn inside two of her toes. I called Dr. Klostermann’s office Thursday evening and left a message. Here is my report: My mother and I were both extremely impressed by the speed of response to our call (ease of setting an appointment), the fine bedside manner, thorough treatment of her condition, and add to that a reasonable fee. Two toes up!

I have to say that I am one of Dr. Klostermann’s biggest fans. He has been been injecting a neuroma of mine for several months and it is nearly gone. He also removed a nerve for a friend who didn’t respond well to injections and she is also a happy camper. He is kind, caring, meticulous, honest. I feel so lucky to have found him and would recommend him to anyone. I also need to add that his secretary, Dora, is just wonderful.

Dr. K. is a wonderful, kind and honest Dr. I cannot say enough about him. I only wish doctors like him still existed as it is hard to find honorable professionals like him these days.

Dr Kostermann is friendly enough, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend his office. I went in a number of times with plantar fasciitis, and while he did a great job taping up my foot he never gave me any methods of preventing the injury from returning in the future.
The only reason I went back is because of a last minute PAINFUL ingrown nail and I didn’t want to waste time trying to find someone else. He gave me 3 shots to numb the toe, and then left! For 30 minutes! I heard him in the room next to me with another patient. I totally understand (and appreciate) giving the meds a chance to kick in, but when he returned and I asked him whether it would be wearing off by then, he responded WITH attitude — «What. were you timing me?». He then proceeded to start cutting down my toe nail which led to EXCRUCIATING pain. He had to stop, give me additional shots, and then continue. I’ll NEVER go back.

Dr. Klostermann is fantastic! I had a fall last Friday, resulting in a fractured foot and many torn ligaments. The Marina Urgent care clinic got me in to see Dr. Klostermann, who immediately determined that I needed surgery, and took all the steps to get me in to surgery that very evening. He is so kind, so clear with explanations, so helpful and caring, that I felt immediately reassured. My surgery went well that evening and I am now in the process of a 10 – 12 week recuperation. I am confident that everything will go well, due to Dr. Klostermann’s expertise and care. I could not recommend him highly enough. The members of his staff are just as nice, caring and helpful as he is!

I read a review of Dr Klostermann on Unilocal and it swayed my opinion about who to go and see. I had a list of providers off my insurance, and he was one I was considering. I’m so glad I read the other review. He certainly is all the things that the other review says: kind, informative, funny, friendly, and apparently really good at what he does. He’s the kind of doctor you wish you had for everything that ails you. Sadly only feet and ankles are his area of specialty. As I recently had a fractured elbow and went to a UCLA ortho doctor who couldn’t have cared less and was completely non-​communicative, I seriously appreciate the difference.
Dr K did surgery on my bunion (long overdue — I’d been putting it off but had developed additional pain underneath my foot). The nursing and anaesthetic team who worked with Dr K were brilliant and funny, and made me as relaxed as you can be when you’re about to go under the knife.
A year later, after surgery, physio, and a second opinion, I’m not sure that this has been the outcome I hoped for — I’m still having problems. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt, as feet are complicated, and I don’t know many people who feel that foot surgery has been 100% successful.
One thing I will say, however, is that Dr K’s methods are arguably a little ‘old fashioned’. In other words, I was put in a cast for several weeks, whereas I’ve now discovered that most foot doctors put you in a walker boot following bunion surgery that gives you more mobility from the get-​go. He also didn’t know about ‘knee-​walkers’ which are a mobility bike that work like a charm for people with foot injuries. You can google ‘knee walkers Los Angeles’ and find a link to people that rent them.

Dr. Klostermann is amazing! I hesitate to write a review only because I love the fact that it’s so easy to get an appointment. I feel for those of you with pain in your ankles and feet, so I think it’s only fair that I share my experience with Dr. Klostermann.
A little back-​story: I’ve had problems with my left foot and ankle for several years, off and on. A couple of years ago, after aggresively working with a personal trainer, I went to an orthopedic surgeon for severe foot and ankle pain. He took x-​rays and determined I was getting a stress fracture. He put in me in one of those plastic and velcro boots and had me on crutches for about 5 months. I wore the boot for 9 months. Finally, the pain went away. I avoided all aggressive exercise for years for fear that the pain would come back.
Jump ahead two years later… I decide to give power walking a shot for an hour a day. The pain came back after about a month of this (same pain, same area). I found a doctor near my work, and worried that I’d be fitted for another boot and crutches…
Dr. Klostermann checked out my foot, did x-​rays (in-​house) and determined that it wasn’t a stress fracture but rather an issue with the way I walked. He’s been taping my foot to heal it and I now have a pair of orthotics that have eased the pain immensely. I’m on the road to recovery now that we’ve got a proper diagnosis in place…
Dr. Klostermann is all the things you want in a doctor. Exceptional at his specialty, friendly, kind, and patient. If your feet, toes or ankles need help, he’s the doctor to see!
Dora is the receptionist/​assistant that I talk to/​see most of the time, but everyone that works there is helpful and accommodating.
As an aside, his office is also used on Wednesday nights and Saturdays by a nutritionist named Annette Eshelby. She’s incredible too, so look for my review of her as well!
