Dr. Nakagawa has been in practice in general Optometry for over 20 years and is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California. Having been growing up here in the westside it is his profound desire to serve the eyecare needs on the westside community. Specialties include ocular disease treatment and management, binocular vision, and state-​of-​the-​art equipment to diagnosis any ocular conditions that may present itself. Established in 1992.

Dr. Nakagawa has been in private practice for 22 years on the westside of Los Angeles. Graduated from the University of Southern California with a Kinesiology in 1982 and Pacific University College of Optometry in 1991. Present focus is to serve family and friends in any manner possible with their eyecare needs.

Jason and Kirby are extremely accommodating. I had a quick and easy exam, followed by concise instructions on what I needed to do next to improve my eyesight. They helped me choose contacts and lenses, and made sure everything was in order with insurance. They even went the extra mile of providing me with several one-​time samples of different contacts lenses as I chose which ones felt most comfortable for my eyes. Never had a bad experience. These guys are great.

Just moved to the area from Hawaii. To be honest, I was a little sad because my eye doctor in Hawaii was wonderful. But I have to say, Dr. Nakagawa is just as awesome. He is very knowledgable, thorough and very very kind. He made sure all my questions were answered. His assistant Kirby is really funny and friendly as well. I am so happy I found my optometrist!

Such an affable gentleman and thorough and experienced professional; Dr. Nakagawa was so accommodating and he explained every exam as well as the digital photos of my eyes he had taken. The online check-​in was great so I didn’t have to fill out any forms while in the office. I parked in the wrong parking lot so he pulled cash out of his wallet to cover my parking. I needed contact lenses right away so he sent me home with a free pair to get me through until the lenses he ordered for me show up in my mail. He did not overbook his exams so I did not have to wait. He was very knowledgeable about maximizing my insurance benefits — I did not know that the medical part of my medical/​vision insurance plan would cover glasses and contact lenses. VERY HELPFUL, FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, AND CONVENIENT.

Dr. Nakagawa is the sweetest, most wonderful optometrist I’ve ever come across. Super professional, thorough, and easy to talk to, and easy to get a same day appointment. He even dropped my contacts and my husband’s glasses in our postbox for us! If you want an awesome, super accessible optometrist, who really cares about his patients, go here!

Dr. Nakagawa is awesome. One morning I randomly got two contacts stuck in my eyes, one in each eye. I found Dr. Nakagawa as he was located pretty close to my work, and he was willing to see me right away. He located one of the contacts, but we had trouble finding the other one and I got too squeamish. However, he called me that same afternoon worried that I was still in pain — he was able to fit me in despite my busy schedule the very next day to try again to locate the other contact, and we found it immediately. I was so relieved that it all worked out! He is very nice and professional and I will definitely be visiting him again next time I need a check-​up. Would 100% recommend!

I’ve had to wear corrective lenses since the age of seven. That was sixty-​one years ago, when I was the only one in my class to do so. During these past years I had only been seen by ophthalmologist due my eye disorder but Dr. Jason Nakagawa addressed all of my concerns and provided the excellent level of care and understanding that I had been accustomed to receiving from an ophthalmologist, and at an affordable cost.

If you want a thorough and wonderful eye Dr., I highly recommend Dr. Nakagawa, O.D. He is very nice, and he truly cares about his patients and their eyes. He was my eye Dr. years ago at Fox Hills Mall, and I know how even his employees really enjoyed working for him too, solid Dr. :) I have to see his new office space, but I hear it is great, and I’m looking forward to my 2015 exam. My mother recommended me to go check my eyes 20 years ago cuz I couldn’t see. she took me to see Dr Nakagawa and to tell you the truth she knew Dr Nakagawa will fix my eye problem. he examined me and discover I need glasses. checking my eyes is always a pleasure going annually for my eye exam. he is very professional and courteous and honest optometry now my wife and kids enjoy the same service that makes us keep him as our primary Eye doctor now my friends and family are visiting Dr Nakagawa for a routine eye exam in his new office located in Marina del Rey I definitely recommend Dr nakagawa.
