Door to Door Valet Cleaners

I have recently had the very best service at this Door to Door Valet Cleaners. My drapes were in serious need of repair. Rosa, who is the alteration seamstress did a remarkable job of making them like new again. I feel fortunate and would highly recommend Rosa for any of your sewing needs. John, who works there, as well is also extremely helpful and professional. This is a great cleaners to do business with.

Worst tailoring in the South Bay. The reliability is horrible. They have one tailor working for them who’s schedule is apparently based on whenever she’s up to work at a particular store. Incredibly frustrating, I refuse to support this business.

I’ve been using Door to Door Cleaners for almost 10 years now. When I lived in Hermosa I used their hermosa location and now that I am in manhattan I go to their manhattan location.
I’ve never had a negative experience with them and they have always been very professional and on time.
The reason I’m leaving a review today is because I dropped a suit off this morning for a same day dry cleaning service. I unfortunately am attending a funeral tomorrow and needed the suit pressed ASAP. I think they have 10 or 11 locations now and there was a mixup when I went to pick up the suit right before they closed. The suit had been accidentally sent to one of their other stores but they didnt know which one. One person owns all of the locations and he immediately jumped on it. He and 4 – 5 of his employees spent two hours after all the stores were closed driving to every single store across LA to ensure that I would have my suit in time.
Obviously I would have preferred to have not had the mixup in the first place, but this is the first time in 10 years they had made an error, and it just happened to be terrible timing for me because I need it first thing tomorrow morning. But mixups in any business will always occasionally happen, what I was immensely impressed with was the response and customer service provided by all the employees and the owner himself. To have multiple employees and the owner spending hours of their evening, well after closing, searching for once piece of clothing is is 5 stars as good as it gets as far as I’m concerned. I will continue to use them for the next 10 years to come.

I’ve been going to this cleaner (Marine and Highland store) since I moved to Manhattan Beach in 2012. Anne is fantastic, my clothes are always ready, they’ve never lost anything and are always friendly. When I use the delivery service its the best. I’ve also had several alterations completed and they’ve been 100%. I highly recommend Anne and Door to Door!!! Thanks and keep it up!

I live in Manhattan Beach and have been a loyal customer for many years. I have nothing but the best to say about these guys. Their work is flawless and service is incredible! Quality shop.

Not even one Star! They had the gall to notify me that they no longer wanted «MY» business when I last picked up my alterations–
Here’s the kicker: I had to come back 4, yes 4 different times to get it corrected…
as simple as the length & width of Uniform slacks & skirt. When I said taper it «Straight» down & it was pinned that way, why did it come out 70’s BellBottom?! & the skirt? Won’t bore you with the deets…
What they didn’t know was I was going to take my business else where anyways!

Now that is service. On a Saturday night, I realized I completely forgot to pick up dry cleaning that was needed for overseas flight on Sunday. Obviously, cleaners closed on Sunday, but I emailed the cleaners Saturday night hoping for a reply the next day. To my pleasant surprise, I received an email and text reply immediately around 8.30PM! Owner was prepared to try and get someone to the store that night, but since we still had time, I was able to pick up clothes on Sunday.

Excellent service and quality. I have been using Door to Door Valet Cleaners for years. Best dry cleaners in the South Bay. Especially impressive is their rug cleaning service. I have sent our rugs to professional rug cleaners in Los Angeles who pick up the rugs, keep them for weeks, charge too much, and return them looking no cleaner than when they were picked up! Door to Door charges less, gets out heavy stains from the rugs and delivers within days of picking up the rug (s). The rugs look brand new when Door to Door cleans them. They are truly the best.

This cleaners does a decent job, but it’s just way too pricy. I brought in a queen comforter for cleaning, and they charged me $ 75! A men’s suit (jacket and pants) STARTS at $ 17.99. Not sure what «starts at» means, but sounds scary. This place is literally steps from my house, but I probably won’t be back. I’d rather drive a few minutes to go to another cleaners than come here and feel ripped off.

An absolute sham. 4 shirts, 1 pant and a sweater over $ 66. Just some regular cleaning and I got took to the cleaners. Never again.

Just picked up three shirts that I requested to be laundered. Price was over $ 25 dollars and they were dry-​cleaned. When I asked why they were not laundered, she told me that they couldn’t be and had to be hand pressed. Funny, that has never happened at any other cleaner.
Won’t be back. Price gouging.

Sajid and his staff at Door to Door are the BEST!!! Do they care about their customers? YES, they do! Sajid came through for me when I missed closing time to pick up my husband’s suit for a very important customer event at the Emmy’s! Door to Door provided personal and exceptional service. I must commend these business owners for their quick follow up to my initial review. One of the owners reached out to me, and continued to as we played phone tag for a few days. He did a very good job of addressing all of my issues… willing to do his best to rectify the issue with my leather trimmed blazer and explaining the cost of the 5 pieces I brought in & was charged $ 90 for. He explained their process & granted me a credit. This was very reasonable to me, as I did/​do appreciate the quality of their work.

Door to Door cleaners exemplifies the old phrase «getting taken to the cleaners». Their prices are so far out of market that it is almost laughable. On top of that, they don’t post them anywhere and will charge as much as they possibly think they can get away with. They have charged upwards of $ 8 or $ 9 to launder a basic cotton shirt — market rate for this is between $ 1.50 and $ 2.50. They will up charge ANYTHING they can dream up: french cuffs, special piping, unique buttons. This is not industry standard. Take your business to people that behave in a fair and ethical manner. Is there a premium that can be charged for downtown Manhattan beach? Possibly. Is it worth 2x to 4x standard laundry rates, i don’t think so. I actually spoke to the owner to give him a chance to voice his side and he was simply rude and dismissive while all the while being quite defensive. Avoid.

I would advise everyone to stay away from this establishment for dry cleaning if you care about your clothing. They ruined 3 shirt collars while pressing them.
Last year I brought in 5 shirts to be dry cleaned for which they charge a premium because my shirt is more expensive. All 3 of the non white shirts were returned with visible Press marks where the collars were completely shiny and you could see the outlines of lines for the location of the collar stays. This is a very unprofessional job and a sign that a dry cleaner does not take proper care of shirts. I called the Manager Habib Veera and he agreed to pay for one of the shirts but not the other two. I asked to meet with him in person and show him where the damage is on the other two shirts. He refused to meet with me or assist me further. Then started yelling over my voice over the phone calling me a liar. I couldn’t get him to calm down to listen to me so I said he was acting like an idiot. He then proceeded on an obscenity rant like I have never heard in my entire life even to the point of threatening me. It lasted for more than a minute. When he finally stopped I used the opportunity to apologize to him for getting upset with him and telling him he was acting like an idiot and he continued his obscenity rant once again for another 15 seconds before hanging up the phone on me.
I have contacted the store three times since then. Each time I am told Habib is sending the check in the mail tomorrow and nothing ever comes. I will be suing them in small claims court. I advise people find a different Dry Cleaner if you care about your clothing.
In response to your comment below. A Completely INSANE rant where you were yelling and cussing and threatening me (yes you actually threatened me) for over a minute is completely unacceptable in any line of business. Your statement about what occurred is also completely wrong. I sent 1 shirt back and you immediately agreed to compensate me for it. It was the dark blue shirt. I said there were two other shirts like it. I turned them in and you refused to let me show you where the shininess and damage was to the collars of the shirt. Your company was the only one to ever dry clean the lighter blue shirt which is one that you refused to pay for. Because you do not listen to me when I was talking when I was referring to the light blue shirt you confused it with the dark blue shirt and started calling me a liar. You also had your employees tell me 4 separate times that the check was being mailed the next day and it never was. The great thing about my case is that I have all 3 shirts still in the plastic wrapping of your company sitting in my closet untouched for the judge to see. If you care about your clothes you should stay far away from this establishment!

They ruined a one-​of-​a-​kind shirt of mine and tried to tell me I waited too long to file my complaint (!). Then they said the manager would call me when I did not accept that answer. He never called. When I returned a few months later (still no call), they told me «they had never ruined a single garment in their history» and that my shirt had been damaged by another company. Still in disbelief I walked out. No compensation offered to this (former) longtime customer. Unbelievable. Thought I should share… stick with a mom and pop that stands by their work, not this McDryCleaner. Lots of community service plaques on the wall, but no service when it really counts. Avoid.

While in California recently with my brother we stopped in Manhattan Beach as we were driving up from San Diego on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway). I needed some dry cleaning done while we were checking out the local seen and we passed Door-​to-​Door.
I stopped in an ask how much and how long it would take as I would only be around for a few hours. They told me not a problem as I only had a few small things. They were so nice and my stuff came out quick and looking great!

Like other Unilocalers, I agree the eco-​friendly dry cleaning experience comes with a hefty price tag. I’ve learned to print out coupons from their website to save an extra 20%-30% on the bill. For an eco-​friendly dry cleaner that has always provided great service, I can’t complain. Plus I’ve had people tell me my clothes smell good. Hmmm.
As for tailoring — they exceed my expectations. I think hemming pants/​jeans is around $ 15-​$ 20 — unless you use your coupon! If they could just give us a break on the price I think this place would be a 5-​star joint.

They completely ruined a skirt of mine and never fixed the problem.
I actually paid to have a skirt ruined as they never even refunded the dry cleaning charge. I made way too many trips back, no manager ever returned calls or fixed the mistake.
There needs to be a zero star rating for companies without integrity or in this case – dry cleaning ability. (they turned a white skirt BLUE).
I waited over a year to write this review – you may notice most of my reviews are raves, and I love to give people the benefit of the doubt.
You have to be remarkably horrible to get a bad review from me.
Every time I came back to see if the problem could be fixed I was gracious and no one was ever willing to do anything to help. I was treated with bemused disdain, like I was a mildly annoying nut for expecting my skirt back in the same color as when I dropped it off.
I can only hope there is dry cleaning karma…
