Davios Northern Italian Steakhouse

I came here for dinner twice (Sunday night and a weeknight) during a business trip in the area. The atmosphere and décor seem upscale, but there were plenty of people there in t-​shirts and shorts. The first night, I got the filet mignon and split 2 sides with a colleague, the brussels sprouts and the tomato/​basil risotto. The filet mignon was fine, but the sides were the real stand-​outs for me. They were really tasty, but also very expensive; I think most of the sides were around $ 10. They were, however, big enough to split between 2 people. The second night, I got the bolognese, which was great and had a great mix of flavors.
The complementary popovers are really fluffy and delicious. They wheel out a dessert cart at the end of the meal, which is more fun that just a menu. There are also gelato options in addition to the dessert cart. The bathrooms are very nice. There is plenty of parking nearby. The restaurant didn’t get too crowded either time I was there. All of the staff were friendly. This is a good place for a nice, if very expensive, meal.

The food and atmosphere are great but what makes the experience is getting a table with Alyssa. She will never leave your drink the slightest bit empty and goes above and beyond to make sure your food comes out exactly how you like it! I have a severe nut allergy and I also don’t eat meat — Alyssa went out of her way to make sure I was taken care of. You will certainly get your money’s worth!

I went here with my family and not only was my steak cooked perfectly the service was outstanding. My servers name was Alexis. She did an amazing job. She had full knowledge of the menu which is important because one of the children in my party has food allergies. The place was busy inside and out but everything was great.

Made reservations for two on Easter Sunday. Everything was excellent from the food to the service to the management making you feel welcome as everyone seemed to really be enjoying themselves. We started with bolognaise and meatballs that was delicious. We both ordered the filet which was cooked perfect also the butternut risotto which was excellent. To finish we had the cappuccino crème brûlée, amazing must try. The entire staff seem to work really well together and it’s a truly classy establishment. I’d certainly recommend to anyone looking for great food and a great atmosphere with top notch service.

We went to Davio’s last night for dinner. While we knew it would be a little more expensive, we had been there previously and knew the atmosphere was good, the food and service was excellent and we could enjoy the evening. Well none of that was true. It was extremely loud, you couldn’t hear the person sitting next to you. The waitress asked up 4 times in 10 minutes if we wanted a drink, which eventually we did want, but wanted to sit down and breath before we looked at the wine list, or just decided. The waitress basically read the standard menu, provided us no suggestions, and even if she did, we couldn’t have hear her anyway. The food came out from the kitchen luke warm. Then after the table was cleared it took 15+ minutes to get the check so we could leave. I expected so much more. All in all an expensive disappointment.

Went for Mother’s Day brunch
Food: great variety on this occasion — special brunch menu and full dinner menu. I recommend the burrata plate and a half size pasta (gnocchi was amazing) as an appetizer for the table. Split the French toast and pecan crusted haddock, baby kale was sautéed to perfection
Service: the service was great, although the busers were young, they were extremely polite. Waitress was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu
Ambience: although busy, not loud. Open kitchen in the back. Restroom was very clean

It’s been a while since we checked out Davio’s and it was worth the trip. Food and service (thanks Jennifer) were worthy of more frequent dining.
My wife likes fruity rum drinks and it’s red wine for me. Jennifer made recommendations for each of us and scored on both.
Lobster bisque was good. Huge claw made it memorable, but broth needs some fine tuning. Meatballs were fantastic. These are gourmet meat fusions! Eat them!
I went tried and true Bolognese with the wife ordering herb crusted tuna. Bolognese continues to be one of the best around. Mediterranean spices on the tuna wasn’t a perfect match, but was still enjoyable. We traded a lot on the dinners and the hybrid surf and turf worked out well.
I think I ordered the tiramisu before I ate and paced myself since it was rolling around us on a dessert cart. It was worth it. Wife had chocolate lava cake, and nearly licked the plate clean.
Jennifer sensed my wife’s indecisiveness on pairing her chocolate cake with vanilla gelato or raspberry sorbet and brought both. Nice touch to close out the evening.
Place was jammed but we were never rushed. Good pace on food delivery and all staff we encountered were very polite.

Went to dinner here over the weekend. The food was fabulous! I had a nightly special, a veal dish. it was delicious! .my friend had fish… i generally get the scallops when I dine here, but was so happy with my choice… service is always top shelf!

Love their cocktail list and appetizer list. Sitting at the bar is a plus. Nice location in lynnfield.

Great dinner for 2 adults and 2 young boys. Service was outstanding as the server catered to the kids, made them feel special. Food was amazing as expected. George’s bank scallops and ribeye steak. Kids meals are a great deal for under $ 10 bucks. Outstanding and thank you. I’ll return soon.

Have been to Davio’s Lynnfield several times now and each time the food and service has been excellent. Great atmosphere and love the Marketplace area. If you are looking for an upscale place for just cocktails at the bar or a lovely dinner with the most yummy dessert selection check out Davio’s. If you are planning an event make sure to ask for Gia the event planner!

Like an old western, it was a good experience gone bad…
Fan favorite that gets mentions out of the gate, popovers! I love popovers, as I was regaling to my wife over said treat, that could be my entire meal.
To start, my wife ordered the wedge salad, I ordered the truffled mushrooms. She enjoyed her salad, the mushrooms came in a spicy (upon inquiry) sriracha sauce, which was not listed in the menu description. When I mentioned to the waitress, she told me that’s how it’s prepared, and we had a little back & forth, where I said pretty confidently that the description did not mention sriracha. She went to get the menu to check, walked by us with the menu, and to the kitchen. For the record, I was correct, no mention of sriracha. The manager brought me a new order sans sriracha; he was friendly about it, and I thought they’d take it off the bill, but no luck (wishful thinking). My wife ordered the flat iron steak (which she reports as being one of the best steaks she’s ever had), I ordered the ribeye; we shared orders of truffle fries and cauliflower au gratin, both were fine. While my steak was cooked to my liking, I generally prefer the temperature to be warmer, that a dab of butter melts on top immediately. Finished off with the panna cotta & chocolate cake; both were good. I had a glass of moscato with dinner, my wife had a strawberry old fashioned, which was not to her liking (very strong, overpowering any flavor beyond bourbon). She had a diet coke, which was brought out in one of those mini-​bottles, which seems to be a trend lately (one that I don’t fully understand).
So you might be saying to yourself… that doesn’t sound so bad. Really, it was interactions with the waitress that just sullied the dining experience, starting with the disagreement about the description of what I ordered, ending with waiting 10 minutes for our check to get dropped off and to be picked back up. She kept walking by our table, and I tried to get her attention, it was almost like she was actively trying to ignore us. Very odd.
Ambiance — I really liked the look of the place on the inside. The layout is odd; the front foyer made me think I was coming in a side entrance, and the hostess station is a ways past the bar… fairly awkward layout in my opinion. They had a few side rooms for private functions, which looked nice. The restaurant has an open & airy design (similar to the Cheesecake Factory), with lots of tall windows and natural light. There was a long high-​table in front of the kitchen that looked like it was for tastings (I meant to ask the manager when he stopped by).
Quantity — All food portion sizes were spot on.
Quality — Top marks for quality, all the food was good, drinks were a bit disappointing.
Value — You’re not going here for a value-​meal, expect to pay $ 60+/pp, but you know that heading in (or should!). The quality of the food does match the price.
Service — The kidney punch to the meal. The managers were friendly/​attentive, the rest of the staff seemed junior/​unpolished. For bus-​boys & the like, I get that, but our waitress and a few others I saw, really seemed under-​experienced for the type of restaurant this is (being higher-​end, $ 50/​plate). Our waitress was by no means vile, but she also wasn’t friendly, particularly knowledgeable about the dishes, or enthusiastic about being there. The wait at the end of the meal became unbearable, as we both just wanted to get out of the restaurant, but were stranded waiting for the check, and for the check to be picked up.
Overall — What an eclectic menu, with so many great options! It was tough picking the select few things we wanted, and there are plenty of other items on the menu we’d be interested in trying on later visits. However, it’s amazing how sub-​par service can bring an overall experience from 5 stars, to 4, and then down to 3. But what about the popovers?! Clearly those win it points. Yes, they win points for the popovers, those tasty treats are what will one day convince me to return and give them another try… damn you popovers!

I had, give or take, about 100 bites of food during my meal here. Every single bite was excellent.
An anniversary dinner with my wife started with fluffy popovers and tasty Kobi meatballs. Dinner, flat iron steak and pecan-​crusted haddock, were both perfectly cooked and mouth-​watering. Good portions, too. The sides, ranging from asparagus, to sweet potato, to kale were all gone in a matter of seconds. (Who knew kale could be so good?!) Warm, attentive service was the icing on the cake. Actually, the apple crisp-​like dessert, with caramel and cinnamon ice cream, was the icing on the cake.
The beer list could be better, but it was adequate. Prices are what you’d expect for a nice meal out, but we left full, happy, and eager to go back.

Probably one of my best dining experiences I’ve had so far.
My boyfriend and I came Wednesday night for dinner for our anniversary. I must say, the service here was top notch. I wish I got to know our waitresses name, cause she was amazing. She thoroughly explained the menu and included many recommendations. Not only was our waitress amazing but our table busser was so friendly and made conversation with us as well. The staff is amazing and make the environment really comfortable for you.
On to the important stuff; food. The bread that they give you is so delicious! They should put it on the menu instead of giving it out because I could eat a whole basket full for my entrée! It was so delicious! But we ordered the tuna tartare to start. Very good with the right amount of sauce. For entrees we ordered the filet mignon and the broiled veal. Both were extremely tender and amazing. We probably shouldn’t have ordered dessert since we were both so stuffed, but we couldn’t resist! We ordered the cheesecake and the molten chocolate cake. Yeah we definitely pushed our limit this time but we couldn’t help it since everything was so delicious!
I highly recommend everyone to come here if you have a special event or occasion. It is a bit pricey but definitely worth it since the food and staff were all such a delight!

I chose Davios for our pre Christmas family get together and am so glad I did! The staff was friendly, courteous, & efficient. The food was outstanding. I had the swordfish special. It was moist & tasty.
Will definitely return soon!

I’m not generally a fan of any sort of «chain restaurant» but this place is one of my few exceptions. The service is great, and they make a point to recognize a familiar face. Of the restaurants located in Market St., this is the only one I would suggest going to.

Davios is one of the better options in the new market place. I know it is very pricey but you can get a quality steak and have a nice dinner with the expectation you are paying to be at Davios. This does not rival the Davios in Boston, I will sadly admit but I have not been disappointed and the staff are super friendly.
I actually learned by a waitresses mistake that the flat iron steak (a cheaper option than the fillet) is actually really good. The waitress confused our order and my friend got his fillet served medium rare, I was not touching that and was half way through the flat iron when I said something so not being upset or disappointed but pleasantly surprised was ok with me.
I’ve been here for dinner and lunch. Lunch is definitely more quiet and the atmosphere is Lynnfield, an older crowd with some money. Enough said, I won’t go any further than that.
They have a gluten free menu, the font is much bigger with more white space than the standard menu but who cares, gluten free pasta! The dinner option gives you small or large plates. If there is a pasta option for me, I do not pass it up. The first time I went I had the pasta and it was actually good.
So that being said, you know the crowd, food, setting and location. Now decide for yourself and if you go have a good time. The bar is a good place to sit for people watching too.

Dear davio’s Lynnfield
I am going to have to cut my ties with you. I have been so loyal to you. Dining there 1 or 2 times a week. But, since I wrote to u 2 weeks ago to tell u how I disapproved of 2 seats being held at the bar for over 15 minutes while I was there and it had to be even longer since the people holding them were enjoying their drinks. I told you that April was a bit rude and allowed the seats to be held (with glasses of water) even after I asked how long they were allowed to hold seats on a busy Saturday evening I really like all the other bartenders, waitresses and hostesses You r not the only fish in the sea and I will now have to move on. No more family birthday parties or holiday dinner parties. Im so Sorry you don’t have enough respect for me to even answer my letter.

My husband and I went here last night for our Anniversary. The staff and everyone were great. Our server Alexis was awesome and they knew it was our anniversary (husband told them that when making reservations). We started off with the Kobe meatballs and OMG were they good plus they bring you popovers. They bring you two and I only had half of one as I knew I wanted desert. The only problem was the popovers were a lil burnt so we did not enjoy those.
For our entrees I had the Braised Veal Agnolotti, Asparagus, Shaved Parmigiana = Excellent! My husband had the Braised Beef Short ribs with their creamy mashed potatoes. He loved them and ate all of it!
For dessert we tried their dark chocolate shell filled with chocolate cake, an orange/​chocolate mousse, orange sorbet and topped with orange spun sugar. OMG is all I can say and we finished it all. They even wrote Happy Anniversary on the plate; and then they brought us 2 chocolate covered strawberries one in white chocolate decorated as a bride and the other in dark chocolate dressed as the groom.
We will definitely be going back. The atmosphere is great and the staff were too, cannot say enough of how they go out of their way to help you. Glad we tried it, well worth it!

Service Was pretty slow. Spring rolls are not good. I don’t care what other reviews say about them. ordered the sampler.(table of six that agrees) And the waitress actually informed us that they come from an outside vendor and that is one of the only things they do not cook in house. And you can actually buy them frozen in the grocery store.
Roasted chicken was cooked pretty good, came with a Gravy/​sauce that was very tasty. (It actually made the dish really good)
Filet mignon was not that great, not very soft at all.
Tuna was really good.
Organic salmon was plain.
Butternut squash risotto was ok.
Asparagus was good.
Tiramisu was really good.
Pop overs were good too.
Plenty of parking.
They have a pretty good kids menu as well.
Nice bathrooms.
Big menu.
