Simply the best ! After many years of terrible hair, I decided to make an appointment with a real stylist.
I should have done this much earlier. Carly fixed my hair color (when I walked in my hair was 8 different shades of some sort of brown). She cut and colored it perfectly, I’ve also had a few touch-​ups done by Guinevere, also excellent. The salon is very comfortable, these ladies know how to make you look and feel great. So lucky that I listened to my friend.

My review is for Carly, she cut my hair then a few weeks later I went back for color & she did a fantastic, truly beautiful job on both! I have curly hair & I’ve been promised so many things by so many stylists & colorists over the past 7ish years, pretty much all which were not delivered upon in the slightest. I’ve had my hair butchered and fried, and FINALLY I was referred to Carly, who listened, advised, and did wonderful, beautiful, & healthy things for my hair. I also learned a ton of things I never even knew before, such as why boar bristle brushes can help the quality of your hair, why you can use a tiny amount of professional hair products & have them be effective, and why you need to have a strong foundational cut to begin with. I love my hair & how it looks/​makes me look again, and this is no small thing: I’ve truly hated it or just barely tolerated it for the past 7 years. My extremely long bad hair day is finally over thanks to Carly!

I walked in with a giant project for Rob — fix my screwed up haircut, and turn my (virgin! never been colored!) hair pink. Five hours later, my hair looked F$&@!?ING MAGICAL. Rob is an artist and a wonderful designer, and an amazing stylist. His attention to detail and his deep understanding of color are unmatched. He created a look for me that was organic and lived-​in and nuanced — I have never been happier with a hairstyle! He also took so much time fixing my messed up haircut — he went in multiple times to turn it from a weird shape to a beautiful textured bob that fits my face. I am so grateful for the time and care that Rob took with my hair — and I really enjoyed my five hours in his chair! I’ll absolutely be back; he is a lovely man and a pleasure to work with. Thanks, Rob!!!

This is my first review ever… Cassie is so amazing that I didn’t have a choice-​I have to share with the internet-​world how wonderfully talented she is! First of, she listened to EVERYTHING I asked for and then some.
My roots were out of control (a while had pass since getting a touch up). I told Cassie I know I waited too long to get my roots bleached (by the way I’m a natural brunette-​my hair color is blonde). I was aware that it might come out a different tone from the rest of my hair… well, to my glorious surprise-​that was not the case. This girl has magical hands :)…not only did my roots come out perfect! Yes, I mean perfect! It was literally shocking. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted… and she does it so effortlessly. Very laid back, mellow, good listener, we had good conversations. The overall experience was spectacular. CHECK HER OUT! YOU WILL BE VERY SATISFIED!

Thanks, Reviewers! Cassie was, true to recommendation, totally fantastic. Super cool person, very relaxed while simultaneously very detailed and focused on her craft. She is a hair sculptress, and most importantly, she listened carefully to what I was looking for, and executed perfectly, even helping to solve a bang issue that has given me trouble for a very long time! Hurray! Also, a great salon overall. Nice vibe, clean and comfortable. The environment of this place is relaxing and care free. I love the style that the salon has to it. The staffing is very friendly and attentive and listen to what you’d like done to your hair. I personally go to Karla who is just over all awesome and skillfully talented.

Look I know for most men (that care about their hair) it’s hard to find a good hair stylist that isn’t pretentious or in a salon that will charge you for saying their name out loud. So trust me when I say that all you need to do is go to the Double O salon in Eagle Rock and ask for Cassie. I’ve been going to her every 4 weeks for the past 6 months and I couldn’t be happier. I show up at my appointment time and let her do whatever she feels will be the best for my hair (she is the expert), and each time she leaves me feeling confident about my style.
FYI: The salon itself is clean and always playing good music. The other people that work their are very friendly and make sure that you feel welcomed.

I just got my hair cut by Cassie… She was amazing!!! My hair was so damaged and really just bad all around!!! I told her I wanted a medium length cut with a lot of layers and she delivered just that! I also checked in and got an extra 5 bucks off my tab.

I had never been here before but I recently went to see Suzi O. for a blow-​dry and I am so impressed. She did exactly what I wanted, some soft curls/​waves that would hold up until the next day. She was very pleasant and down-​to-​earth and I just liked her energy, sweet and very genuine. I got so many compliments on my hair and how pretty it was, which was actually pretty funny since I went to a Halloween party that night dressed as Cousin Eddie from Christmas Vacation– not an attractive character. But with a little of Suzi’s magic, Cousin Eddie was kind of a babe ;-) Thank you, Suzi. I can’t wait to come back for some color and a cut. You can tell she really cares about her work as though it is her art, and it certainly is!

Rob is the man! If you’re in need of a hairstyle and you don’t know how to articulate it hair terms, he is the man who can accomplish the task. I have had several different cuts from him and every time he has been extremely patient; always good conversation and remembers things about his clients. The whole environment/​vibe is great and they always have good music playing! Worth every penny!

I rarely ever give 5 stars to a business, but I am pleased enough with my experience today with Rob to give then 5 stars. Rob did a great job today. I love my highlight and the charge was only $ 120 for 3 hours of work on my hair. I paid a generous tip and paid $ 150.
I will definitely go back. Highly recommended…

There was a time I used to HATE my hair. No, I mean that. I mean, I really HATED my hair. Yes. I know that hate is a strong word, but there were times that I thought of shaving off my hair so I didn’t have to deal with it anymore!
There was a time when I had a wonderful hair stylist, but then he moved on to work with only celebrities. That made me sad, because he was awesome.
Then, I tried going to different hair stylists per friends’ recommendations and Unilocal.
I mean, how hard could cutting hair be, right? Well, it could prove to be a little tricky if the hair that needed cutting was mine.
You see, I have A LOT of hair and it’s very thick. And over the years, it has morphed into a thing that needs serious taming. A comment, which my hippie mom considers to be a complement, «Oh, your hair looks so natural!», which to me translates to Amazon woman hair! My hair even reminds me a lot of Cathy, the old comic strip character. So, to appease my sanity, I would put my hair up in a pony tail or a bun, just so that it would be out of the way!
AND, when I finally did try different hair stylists, they would basically butcher my hair! They used thinning scissors, which gave me so many split ends! I looked as though I had mange! Often, I would go home crying after visiting the salon. But then I would appease myself by saying that at least my hair would grow out again.
One of my dear friends, who took pity on my directed me to Christina. It was like the heavens opened up! O, what sheer joy!
This woman must use magic sheers for she has transformed my hair from being a mangy mess into being silky, healthy, and tres chic! I get compliments on my hair ALL the time. I always tell it’s because of Christina.
And, not only does she make my hair look amazing, she teaches me how to properly take care of my hair. Remember when I mentioned how I got so many split ends? Well, Christina says that using thinning scissors actually damages hair, creating split ends. Instead, she uses hair cutting sheers, and it’s all about technique. I’m always learning something new from her.
What I also love about Christina is the attention she spends on cutting my hair. She really makes sure that it looks incredible. And while cutting my hair, we have so much to talk about, which really puts me at ease, considering I have anxiety about my hair.
Seriously, this woman is a cut above the rest!

When you find your perfect LA stylist hold on tight they are hard to find. Even though i am super easy going when it comes to my hair, I have had my share of hair nightmares. I have been coming here for at least 2 years. Every time I stray because it is kinda far from where i live i regret it. Cary is amazing stylist and worth the drive every time.

I have been coming to Double O for a while now, and for the past few years Suzi O has been my wonderful hair stylist. Last Saturday, she also did my wedding hair and makeup and did an outstanding job!!! Thank you Suzi, you are amazing! Not only was the vintage look she gave me exactly what I was going for, but it lasted all night and looked fabulous both in person and on camera! I could not have been happier with the services she provided, and I think its safe to say that brides are pretty picky! :) She also dolled my mom up and she looked so adorable, too! Thanks a million!!!

I had my hair cut by Rob a few weeks ago and I had such a nice experience. I hadn’t been to a salon in four years because I had a few rude stylists in the past and was nervous to hear how I hadn’t taken care of my hair.
Rob gave me a great cut without getting rid of too much length and gave me some good advice. I appreciate the sincere effort and will be back for my next trim! $ 60 for wash, cut and blowdry — not including tip.

This place is easy to find, and if you turn down a side street, there is 4 hour parking. You may need it! The place was chill, my stylist was cool, the salon is laid-​back.
They have cool alternative color options — which is what I was in for (blue/​green) and Elumen color, so that’s great. My stylist was honest with what we could do and we were on the same page, so that was good. He took me same day, which made me happy.
The star reduction, though, was just how long it took. I was there for so long. And it was $$. I’m happy with my hair but there are a ton of places to get what I had done quicker and cheaper. May be back though!

I have been coming to this hair salon in Eagle Rock for about two years. It was right about that time that I started getting beaucoup of compliments about my hair; both the color and the cut. Even my husband opens the door when I return home and always says «they did a great job again, you look lovely honey bunny». I ask you, how often does that happen?
These compliments all have to do with the people that work at the Double-​O salon. My current hairdresser, Carla, is a hoot. She laughs at all my jokes as she expertly maneuvers the oddities of my hair with confidence and precision. Clip Clip. Laugh Laugh. Clip Clip. Carla also has a mean swish of the hair cape. She could be Batman’s next Dresser.
The inside of Double-​O is both hip and classic, and, very clean. I love the black, purple and gold bathroom with vintage hair supplies framed on the walls. I also like the old fashion photos of mod male haircuts in fancy oval frames over the cash register. The middle one reminds me of my husband, Moe, during his glam rock shag days in the 70’s. I fall in love with him all over again each time I pay my bill.
Cool features also include a computerized text message reminder that magically appears on my I phone a couple days before my next hair appointment. I find this feature very helpful although I have shown up on the wrong day by mistake. Laugh Laugh but no Clip Clip. And, the price is very reasonable especially since the cutters all seem to have magical fingers. The only people that go away unhappy are the ones that can’t get in. Appointments are recommended. I always make mine in advance so I know that I will be seen. I recommend this salon to everyone! I’m so glad it is so close to my home.
P. S. How can you go wrong when there is a golden Elvis statue in the front window. I swear he smiles at me each time I enter and leave the building. Thank you very much … Double-​O!

This place is great! Was in here yesterday and as soon as I arrived I was given a seat. Met my stylist who was very nice. We got along right away! As for the haircut, I believe it was good. I guess I should’ve just stayed with the cut instead of having her style it. My hair is very thick and heavy and I asked her to curl it. She asked if my curls usually fall and I said yes. So I thought she knew a way to keep the curls to stay. I had mentioned to her that my sister used a flat iron to curl my hair and the curls actually keep till the next day. I had a party to go to and by 7 my curls were no longer curls. My hair was just flat! Not really worth the extra $ 20. Next time, I’ll just stick to a haircut.

At Double O for the first time. Everyone is really nice. Just saw Suzi. She was amazing! She did exactly what I asked for. I went from long hair down my back to just off the shoulder. I love it and and can’t stop touching it. I’ll definitely be back when I plan on going shorter and shorter.
P. S. Mid-​way through my cut I realized I forgot to feed the parking meter. And Suzi was sweet enough to go check for me! I mean seriously! What other salon would offer to do that? She’s just awesome.
