This is an easy review to write. David and team easily earned the full 5 stars. We used them to sell our home in Los Altos Hills. We’ve been planning this for several years and stayed in touch with David during this time. He was very patient and we never felt any pressure to list the property.
When we decided to sell, there really wasn’t any debate about with whom to list. David and team were far and away our favorite option. As the process went on, we got very involved remodeling. David’s team handled the whole task. They asked us about key decisions but created the plan and worked it’s execution without any real involvement from us. We sat back and they did it all at no additional cost to us.
When listing day came, we were extremely pleased with how the home presented. The remodel looked great, especially with the great staging they did. The promotion materials were top notch and it seemed to be advertised everywhere.
The result was the multiple offer situation for which we had hoped. David offered quality advice on how to work the deal. We worked it as he suggested and it worked out very well. They did go some $ 13K over the remodel budget but it was all in the spirit of what we were doing with the property. Also we were not very impressed with the title company’s performance (a separate issue really).
The bottom line is we are totally satisfied with David and his team and have no complaints whatsoever. We offer our unqualified recommendation to David Troyer and company.

We bought our home in Los Altos through David last year. It was a crazy market, maybe not as crazy as this year. In all of the frenzy, David and his team are the most patient and grounded. It comes from many years of experience as a realtor and a resident of Los Altos and hills. Market goes up and down, but the fundamentals should never change, that’s the most valuable assets David and his team have.
After losing quite a few bids to all the cash buyers, we were as emotional as it gets. Finally we had a very hopeful opportunity, we were very close to getting it, yet David still took time to play devil’s advocate, made sure we’ve considered all the pros/​cons of the property, and didn’t over pay for it. His team helped to smooth out the transaction, it was all in all a very pleasant experience.
David Troyer might not make you the winning bid of 20 competitors, but he’ll make sure the house you finally get is one you will cherish for years.

We worked with Mini and David for the purchase of a house in a crazy seller’s market, where everything was going way over the asking price. Very stressful for us buyers! We spent a lot of time with both of them, visiting houses and getting a feel for different neighborhoods and for the market. We tend to over analyze and need a lot of time to make decisions, and we didn’t feel rushed by them.
Mini and David were most helpful in all respects and we feel very happy with the house we got. It’s a fixer upper but they provided contacts for contractors who were able to give us an estimate on the repairs before we made an offer on the house. They also had lots of local contacts when we wanted to learn more about schools and neighborhoods. They were very fast in responding to all our requests, flexible with scheduling meetings with us, phone meetings and in person, etc. Mini and David both chimed in with their expertise at the right moments to make sure all our questions were answered. They kept us updated at every step of the way during the offer process and afterward during escrow. They even helped give us critical advice on selling our old house, where they were not formally involved, but they were still very helpful.
I would say more about our great experience, but I’m afraid Unilocal will filter the review and put it at the bottom… but all these great things are true! They are a fabulous team and we were very well taken care of.

David and team were awesome in helping us purchase our first home. He and Lisa (buyer agent) were outstanding before close: showing us off-​market listings, expertly negotiating with the sellers, and exercising patience as we went back and forth with indecision. After talking to him we could tell that he «gets» the hills and understands what it takes to successfully market a house in this area. Before writing this review of David Troyer and his team, I read all of the other reviews. Every single one gives David and his team five stars. There is a reason for this: David and his team are that good. Make no mistake about it, when you hire David Troyer as your real estate agent, you are in fact hiring a number of support people as well. All are fast, efficient, knowledgeable, personable and skilled at what they do. Someone asked how David could do all that he does. David couldn’t do it without the team that he has assembled. You are going to be pleasantly surprised when David and his team take over the process of either selling your home or helping you to buy another.
We met with David, he inspected our house, and he concluded that 50% of the would-​be buyers are those who will purchase the house, tear it down and rebuild. And, sure enough, the buyers are going to do exactly that. Normally one wouldn’t immediately assume that a house that will sell for more than $ 3 million is a tear down. David was spot on in his analysis and took the lead in having the property surveyed by a professional survey team (at David’s expense) in order to present the property in all its possibilities.
There are many really good realtors in our area. And of this I have no doubt — David Troyer is among the best. Believe it.

David Troyer was highly recommended by everyone we spoke to (e.g. friends, co-​workers, real estate community). We selected him as our realtor because we had confidence that he could help us with our challenging situation, which was to help us submit an offer for a beautiful, historic home we wanted to purchase and to also sell our current home within a short timeframe. As soon as our offer for the new home was accepted (which was no small feat given how competitive the market is), his team worked diligently to get our home ready for market. I could not have asked for a more efficient, professional and knowledgeable team to sell my home in Los Altos. David knows the market better than any other agent I’ve come across. He knew the history and pricing of comparable properties in the area and arrived at a plan and basic timetable in our first meeting. His exceptional team swooped in and made the plan a reality. Within two weeks of our first discussion, the home was prepped, inspected, staged, photo’s taken, video made, marketing material created and listing work done. It was on the market for less than one week (basically over the first weekend) and by Monday we had three offers — all over asking! We hired David and his team to sell my parents’ house in Los Altos. David and his team made the whole process very easy, from deciding what improvements to make and actually scheduling and coordinating the various vendors. I only met with David once in person and his team took care of everything from start to close of escrow. A seamless process!

We worked with David to sell our house in Mountain View (just closed escrow today), and couldn’t be any happier with the results and the service we received from David and his team — from sitting down with us to carefully explore our options (we were debating whether to sell or rent out our home), arranging for stagers, painters, and landscaping, and doing an absolutely outstanding job with marketing the house, everything was first class.
Living in Mountain View, we would periodically receive marketing materials in the mail from David regarding homes he had listed, or recent sales in the area. It was clear to me that David understands how to effectively market a house. David and his team put together a great video tour of our house, which really was a nice personal touch. We had the added challenge of selling the house while out of town (having moved away from the Bay Area), but David and his team made everything easy and painless.
Although we originally were debating whether to rent out the house or sell, we are absolutely thrilled with the results. Thanks to David’s strategic marketing of the home, we ended up receiving multiple (10!) offers, and selling for well above asking.
I couldn’t recommend David and his team any higher.

He might be awesome if he’s your agent. But if you buy a property from him, that’s a different scenario. I recently bought a house from him in los altos area. After close of escrow, we moved in and started to see issues that were not disclosed. Fridges are not working, leaks (water dripping from living room ceiling), mold, exhaust pipe is disconnected leaving a big gap, etc.
I tried to raise the issue but no response from him/​his team. I don’t expect him to fix all the issues, but at least a decent courtesy to check things out. But, nothing.
Bottom line, he/​his team is great to work with BEFORE close of escrow (thus, the 2 stars). I can’t vouch the same AFTER.

I’ve known David for several years now in different contexts. I own a home on the Mountain View /​Los Altos border and David has sold the majority of homes in our neighborhood. Having gone to several of his open houses, I’ve always found him to be professional, clear in his communication, and impressive in his marketing of the homes.
When it came time to sell my house, the very first person I reached out to was David. He immediately came to my home to help me understand how much we could sell the home for and how we could market the home to make sure it got the most attention. After interviewing 3 other agents, it was clear to me that David would be the agent that I chose. He was always very detailed in his responses and the first to respond when I had a question.
