I went to kihei automotive because it is close to my house and the old owner Eric was honest and had reasonable prices. The new owner John I believe is dishonest and has outrageous prices. I took my car in it was backfiring and not idling well. Dropped my car off at 8:30 am. 4:00 pm I call to check up on car and they had not even looked at it yet. Next morning John calls and says $ 100.00 for 1 hr diagnostic with not finding problem and $ 60.00 for looking at emergency brake not fixing it. $ 160.00 plus tax nothing fixed? One more hr of diagnostics another $ 100.00 and John says you need to replace spark plugs. Now my bill is $ 285.00 with nothing fixed yet. John quotes me $ 650.00 total if he changes spark plugs. I say no that is too much and I go get my car. I do not believe I owe John or kihei automotive $ 285.00 for fixing nothing on my car. They have inconvenienced me by keeping my car all day and ½ the next to tell me I need new spark plugs and then say I owe $ 285.00 for that info. I bought spark plugs $ 22.00 and changed them in 20 minutes. My car runs good. I feel John was completely ripping me off. I have talked to several people, including mechanics and they feel the same as I do. I do not recommend this business to service your car. I have no idea how this place got any good reviews? This is the honest truth.

Love these guys, have brought in my Mazda a few times now. Also worked on my families old Dodge Neon cruiser to satisfaction. Always quick, never needed to keep my car for more than a day, and when I bring it in with a problem they fix it. Friendly service, attentive with phone calls etc. Prices are average as far as I can tell and don’t catch me off guard. Try em!

Super helpful, courteous, great service. Gave me recommendations for shops that could work on my car since it turned out to be an auto body problem and not an engine problem. Took time to clearly explain things and check my problem out. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Great service, great garage, great mechanics. Superior customer service. We were referred to this garage and are extremely happy. Prices in line and more than fair. This is the only place we will take our 2009 GMC Canyon truck to be serviced. Fair and honest and will recommend them to all needing a honest, fair place to take any vehicle for regular maintenance. The best customer service i have ever received from any automotive service!!! John the manager right away was so helpful and so informative. After i told him i was walking my dead battery there he offered to have his assistant Paul come pick me up with the battery and bring it there to buy a new one and then even take me back home! I was so excited what a awesome team! And then Paul even helped me get it all set and and made sure it was on right! I just couldn’t believe they were so thorough and caring and that John even offered to do this. What an awesome business with amazing caring assets like John and Paul! Thank u guys!!!

Wow! I chose this business because it was close to my house and I needed a safety check. From the time I walked in the door, I felt I was an imposition to them. The person who helped me even appeared annoyed to have to take my registration and insurance out of its cover. Really? The inspection was completed and services were paid for. I look at the back of my car today and there are scratches on my bumper where the new safety sticker was placed. I guess it was an attempt to place the new one? Yet, remnants from the old sticker and scratches are prevalent. I’ll go out of my way to avoid this place the next time.
